09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in quite a while because there was the possibility that my husband and I wouldn't be able to go on the cruise after all. (He just started working for the USPS and being the low man on the totem pole is getting the short end of the stick.) So, now its official. We have to cancel. :sad1:

I hope everyone has a great time on the cruise!! I want full updates from everyone when they get home!! I will be thinking of you all (especially Jennifer48 and Squall55 who we would have been traveling with) that week while I am sitting here at work.

It looks like we will probably make it to free dining, checking in when you all are getting off the boat, so I guess all is not lost.

And someday we will make it on our first cruise! (And I bet Jennifer48 and Squall55 will be traveling with us then too! They'll be pros!)

:sad1: I'm so upset about this. At least you are still able to visit WDW as a plan B. We will DEFINATELY be going a DCL in the future! You can bank on that :goodvibes

Soooooo, anyone want to link dinner ressies?! :rotfl:

I have not cruised since 2001. I have always used the patch for motion sickness on cruises. I get sick in the back seat of a car. Is the bodine better?

I have never been motion sick anywhere other than on a boat so I am afraid I cannot help answer this. I have taken Bonine on my two long cruises after I got motion sick on a two hour riverboat ride. I did not get motion sick on the two long cruises. I do not get motion sick on WDW rides or car trips.

I am sorry. At least you can go to WDW. I tried to convince DH to go before or after the cruise. He said not this year. We went last year for free dining. It was great! I hate missing it this year, but I look forward to our cruise!

I have offered to link ressies for the late seating too so if anyone is interested PM me.

Kimberly815 - Sorry to hear you will not be cruising with us. Hopefully your DH will like his new job!!!

Tina, I would love to do this, especially since our DD's are getting to know each other by email! But I seem to remember DH telling me that we were on late seating this time, by accident. I'll have to check with him on this. If we are on late seating, I don't think we can do anything until we get onboard, to have it changed.

We take meclizine (I don't know if that's spelled right), which I believe is the same as Dramamine II. We just buy the generic at Walmart. It works great and is non-drowsy. The key is taking it before you start feeling sick. We start the day before, and take it through the first day of the cruise (usually the worst), and then I usually don't take it anymore unless we are expecting rough seas.

I agree about taking the med before the cruise. That is what my doctor told me to do with the Bonine. I started taking it before we ever boarded the ship.

If anyone is flying Southwest- they put their rates out today until November 2. I got my flight this morning for after our cruise!!! The rate was OK $79.00 each way from BWI.

I plan on it but the cheapest from Manchester, NH to MCO was $159. I'll have to keep checking.

Thanks so much for posting that. I have been waiting for them to release their schedule!!!!

We flew to WDW last Sept and the rates went on sale about a month after they were released. We had booked as soon as they came out with the rates but we were able to get a refund to our CC for the differance...

Finally did it - booked our air and rental car! What a relief! :woohoo:
Got a great deal on USA3000 and with Alamo. Hertz was almost $200 MORE for a comparable quote. :scared1: Now that those are out of the way I can concentrate my "overplanning" to our fabulous cruise. :goodvibes Can't wait!

I checked today also. St. Louis to MCO was $174.00 one way.:scared1: I will wait for the systemwide sale or a ding. Still have plenty of time.

Hixski, Air Tran has some $99 one way flights into MCO from St. Louis - they were on travelzoo's top 20 deals that came out this week.

Thanks, I will check them out too.

I always take Bonine right before we get on the ship. It usually works for me. If the seas are rough, sometimes I feel a little "off" but not sick, if that makes sense.
My mom always gets motion sickness. Last time she wore seabands and said they helped a little. This time she is seeing her dr first to get some recommendations.
I cannot believe it's 4mths away!!!! My mind is ready, but my body isn't! LOL! I need these 4mths to drop some serious lbs!!! LOl!!:lmao:
