Happy late Saturday everybody.

Kelly - :bday: party: party: party: Hope you had a great day. We spent the day out running errands, getting my haircut, taking the girls to a movie, went to see our new great niece that was born last night at 9:15. What a sweetie. :cloud9: And some shopping.

Tomorrow we might go shopping again. :sad2: Who knows.

Also, this morning we worked on our dining plans for June, trying to figure out park hours and where to eat when. We finally had to call member services because we couldn't find out any information on disney's website (there new site really stinks for finding out what is going on and when.). The nice CM that we talked to was able to tell us when Wishes and Fantasmic are going to be happening while we are there because we couldn't find it on the website. That really helps us to decide where we want to eat. And, since joining the disboards and getting on the food porn sites, we want to try it all!!!!!!! :rotfl: And we can make all of our reservations as of Thursday. :woohoo:. Come on June!

Ok, since I brought up making reservations, how on earth do you make them for PALOS on the members cruise in order to get them? I know when we went on the 2007 members cruise we tried to book them when we were able, via the computer, as soon as we could and not a reservation to be had. It kept telling us that they were filled, or sold out. We would really like to do dinner or brunch on the cruise but am not sure how to go about getting reservations, since it didn't work last time. Any suggestions? :confused3 Or is it just so in demand that there wouldn't be a chance in heck of getting in because everybody wants a reservation at PALO? Thanks in advance for your advice! :hippie:

Chris - was that your first cruise? If so you were booking at 75 days out while Castaway Club members were booking at 90 days out (and concierge booking 105 days out).

Brunch is harder to get than dinner because it is only on the one sea day. Having said that we've been able to get it the last two years.

You book online starting at Midnight Eastern on the designated day.

I know last year a number of people were not able to get Palo brunch and Joanne who was doing linked dining for the group was able to get the private room for a large bunch of DISers.

Nope Mary, that wasn't our first cruise. So we were able to book the 90 days out. And we started trying to book reservations on the day we were 90 out. Pretty early in the morning too. We were bummed that we couldn't get in, but it didn't spoil our fun. Maybe this year we will have to try and be up at midnight, :lmao: , I can't even stay awake until 10:00 pm, and try to make a reservation. If we don't get it, there is always next time! :rolleyes1

Hi Mary,

Just popped in to see how you are doing & read the post about you returning to work. That's great! Who ever thought that going to work was a good thing! What's the deal with the treatments?

You are most welcome. I love doing the countdowns to our cruises. I also think it is fun to celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries as we make our way to the cruise.

Yeah waiting until the morning is what did you in. I know that each cruise there are people who are up at midnight and still missed out so I'm sure they were all gone by morning. The good news for us is that we only have to stay awake until 11 pm as the midnight is Eastern. Also remember that DCL keeps about 1/2 of the bookings open for those booking onboard on the first day.

Hi Mary,

Nancy

Hi Nancy - good to see you. Don't have the actual schedule yet but my chemo will be every other week for the next 6 months. One day at the clinic and then one day wearing a fanny pack giving me the chemo. I meet with the oncologist on Monday to go over the schedule.

28 Weeks....Whoo Hoo!!!! I just can't wait!

I feel like Cinderella after the ball. While yesterday was hardly considered regal by any stretch of the word, it was still a really nice relaxing time and a welcome break from reality and all the worry that goes with it. And today will be filled with cleaning and moving boxes - yuck! :sad2:

Oh well....hopefully Prince Charming will show up to wisk me away. A girl can only hope, right?

Chris - I was up at midnight for our last cruise and couldn't get anything at Palo, but I did score some spa treatments that sold out really fast. :woohoo:

Anyway, I was able to get everything I wanted once I boarded the ship: Palo dinner, brunch, and tea. Granted you have to get to the terminal pretty early to make that happen AND this was not a Member's Crusie....but there is hope.
