Boy it is going to be a long day :crazy2: . My DH is the IT guy for the county courthouse, where I also work, and the sheriff's office called at 1:45 this morning saying the computers were down. :crazy2: So he had to come in at 2 this morning and get them going again. Of course I was awake until he came back home around 2:45. Had a hard time going to sleep again and then the alarm went off at 5:30. So it was a short night for us. My eyes are definitely droopy today. Not a good way to start the week. Oh, well, I'm sure I will catch up tonight. At least I hope so!

Happy Monday everyone. :flower3:

Hopefull the day won't be that long for you and your DH.pixiedust:

Flo - it has been a very long day. I am so tired right now and I have to go get Brooke around 7:30 - 8:00 when she gets home from her basketball game. Hopefully Bobby got the problem fixed today so no calls in the middle of the night tonight!! :goodvibes

Hey Congrats guys! I was reading along this morning at work but I had to go wait on someone at the counter and when I came back, wow, lots of talking going on. Way to go!!!!:flower3:

We've done Vero a couple of times and enjoyed it. It is very low key compared to Disney but still a very nice resort. Since the cruise is your idea what does she want to do? There are so many things to do in the Central Florida area. Maybe Sea World, dare I say Universal. I didn't care for Universal but I know others like it a lot. We love Sea World.

I've never been to St. Augustine so can't help there.

You have a good suggestion on doing something she picks. Vero Beach would probably be her style. She was thinking about going there last year. I don't think that she is interested in doing any of the Orlando area parks. We may do Sea World in San Diego this summer and she isn't that interested in WDW or Universal. So I may try to coax an answer out of her.

What. . . . She doesn't want to go to Disney!?! :confused3  Oh, my. LOL.

For me, if I couldn't go to Disney I think I would go to Vero. We have been there once, just looking around, and it looks so peaceful and relaxing. Plus, we have friends close by that we could visit. Good luck on making your choice.

Vero beach is a definite possibility. I may book it at 7 months even if we haven't made up out minds just in case.

Congrats Marsha on :bride:
Congrats Dave & Tanya on pirate:

Since we cannot check in to a hotel until afernoon, we are heading to Kennedy Space center for the day and then down to Vero Beach until Sunday. We thought we could get some rest on the beach after the cruise. Last time we cruised, we were exhausted and just wanted to veg out, so this time that is exactly what we are going to do.

I love Kennedy Space Center, but unfortunately, my sister isn't into "science" type stuff so I may have to pass in Kennedy Space Center. VB on the other hand is definitely in the running. Sandi had been thinking about going there last year and never made it.

hi everyone, i have not been on here in a few months. i appologize, my little one is now 6 months old and crawling and getting into EVERYTHING! It doesn't give me much time to myself. So I have secured my mom to babysit while we are gone and will be heading to Disney on 9/11 then leaving from there to the port and flying home on Thursday. I can not go through all the posts i have missed so if some of you could answer a few questions for me that i am sure have already been asked and answered i would really appreciate it.
1. From Disney to the boat, do I get a transfer from Disney or do i recall someone talking about a party bus? Which is better, what are the costs for both and how do I get on either?
2. When we get back to port on Thursday, what time is it usually? How do I get to the airport that day? What is a safe time to book a flight out of orlando? or is there a different airport I should fly out of?
3. It seems that they leave goodies and such. Should I bring an extra suitcase? Is there a limit to suitcases on the boat?
4. What is the fish bowl thing or something like that? Where we leave goodies for others? I would like to be involved.

I promise to stay more up to date in the future. thank you in advance for any help with this!

1. From Disney to the boat, do I get a transfer from Disney or do i recall someone talking about a party bus? Which is better, what are the costs for both and how do I get on either? No, you don't. What I mean is you have to pay for any transfers from the boat or to the boat. Don't remember the cost. Annmarie is trying for the party bus that is on the first post.
2. When we get back to port on Thursday, what time is it usually? How do I get to the airport that day? What is a safe time to book a flight out of orlando? We have not booked flights before 12:00. You can make an early flight but if there should be a problem getting of the ship you are in trouble. This happened to us in 2004. or is there a different airport I should fly out of?
3. It seems that they leave goodies and such. Should I bring an extra suitcase? Is there a limit to suitcases on the boat? No, but airlines now charge for them. Some charge 15 for the first one to.
4. What is the fish bowl thing or something like that? Where we leave goodies for others? I would like to be involved. That is listed on te first post first page. It is just something that is hung from the fish that is outside the doors. You put little goodies in there. It is alot of fun. I did this for the first time on are 2008 cruise. You can put playing cards, candy, any thing. It is fun coming back to your cabin to find things in there.
I promise to stay more up to date in the future. thank you in advance for any help with this!

Good morning everyone. Happy Tuesday.

Kenna - Flo has given you some great answers. My 2 cents on the same subjects:

1. From Disney to the boat, do I get a transfer from Disney or do i recall someone talking about a party bus? Which is better, what are the costs for both and how do I get on either?

Disney offers transfers from the airport and also from a number of the hotels. The plus for the Disney bus is that it gets you in the cruise mood early with a video on your way to the port. The other plus is that for your question #2 you can take Disney transport right back to the port.

The downside of Disney transport is it often gets you to the port after boarding so if you are trying to get Palo or Spa reservations you might miss out.

I think the Disney bus is like $50 per person round trip.

The bus Annmarie is looking to put together should be a lot less but only if enough people sign up. It worked out great for us in 2006. It did however leave and return to only one location.

2. When we get back to port on Thursday, what time is it usually? How do I get to the airport that day? What is a safe time to book a flight out of orlando? or is there a different airport I should fly out of?

As far as transportation options see #1. You can take a DCL bus from the port direct to the airport and depending on which airline you fly may even be able to check your luggage while on the ship. I wouldn't book a flight earlier than 11:30 - Noon. We have always flown out of Orlando.

3. It seems that they leave goodies and such. Should I bring an extra suitcase? Is there a limit to suitcases on the boat?

DVC has stated on the last couple of years that an additional suitcase is a good idea. Some people who are staying onsite after the cruise make a stop at a business center to ship their goodies home. It is one of the reasons we drive. As Flo stated remember that many airlines are now charging for extra bags.

4. What is the fish bowl thing or something like that? Where we leave goodies for others? I would like to be involved.

The fish extenders are more of a DIS thing so you won't see them all over the ship. Here is a picture of ours from the 2007 Member Cruise. You can see the metal fish at the top which is how they got their name. Full details are in the first post. Be sure and sign up because as we get closer people are going to want to know how many gifts to make/buy/bring.

Hope this helps.

Where is everyone? Giving us a bump from page 2.

Small update. I met with my primary care physician today and have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. Got pretty positive feedback today so I'm breathing a little easier. Of course we won't know everything until the surgery. Your thoughts and prayers have meant so much to me. Thank you!
