Thanks Flo
We are excited about the Trans Atlantic cruise having never been out of the USA, but we enjoy the Members cruise. This will be our third Members cruise. We love everything about it, well worth the extra points!
. Most definitely worth it! We went on DCL cruise that DH won this past October the only other cruises we had been on were SSMC 05 & 06. DH admitted he liked the SSMCs better because of the DVC as well as the DISboard connection. He said there was definitely a difference between member ve non-member ones.

Annmarie,
Would you be able to do the party bus one way? We will be leaving right after the cruise. Thanks Flo :surfweb:
. This should be fine.

Annmarie

Flo & Mary, congratulations on the pirate & swan!

BCVOwner, assuming that you can book the bus, will it be leaving from BCV? i.e. For those of us not staying at BCV, would we be better off trying to switch to BCV at 7 months?

Happy Birthday, Nick!
:dance3: :dance3:
when we did this for SSMC06 we left from BCV because the majority of people were staying in that vacinity so it made more sense. No decision has been made on that yet but Mary usually plans a meet & greet at BCV the day before.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

For those who want to see/read about the DIS party bus from 2006 here is the page from our trip report for that day http://monorailgreen.info/member2006/day2.htm The Beach Club was picked because the majority of the people using it were staying at Beach Club/Boardwalk before or after the cruise. Having just one pick-up/drop-off spot made it the most affordable. For those not staying at these hotels I believe most took a cab/van over and many of them car-pooled it to make it more affordable.

You'll notice that was also a year where we did t-shirts for the group. One of the ladies of the group opened up a cafe press store with a no profit status and we were able to order shirts for the group. We haven't had t-shirts for the group the last two years but it is something we could think about.

As for the pre-cruise DIS meet. Yes we have picked the Beach Club but if the group wants it somewhere else we're fine with that. We picked it for the 2006 DIS meet at the suggestion of one of the DISers. They suggested the Solarium and it has worked well for us as it is an indoor space so we don't have to worry about weather, usually isn't busy, is not inside a park (since some people cruising don't have park tickets), and again close to Beach Club and Boardwalk where many were staying. It worked out so well we had the 2007 and 2008 meets there as well.

Hope this helps - any questions ask away!

Annmarie,

Once I decide what we are doing the night before I will let you know then.

Have a good day.

Quiet around here today...did I scare everyone away? :lmao:

Giving us a lunch time bump as we were about to fall off the first page.

I had the same question. Annmarie, thank you for answering it. We still have not decided when we are arriving but we are leaning towards at least one day before the cruise. I will definitely let you know as soon as possible.

Morning Everyone!

It snowed during the night by me. I think we have at least 1" on the ground.

Taking us off page to back to page 1.

Have a good day.

P.S. I have been up since my DH left for work. Bolt decided he did not want to sleep.

We feel like we dodged a bullet last night. We were possibly going to get freezing rain/sleet, but, fortunately for us, the temp never got below 34 degrees. So, it's cold and wet outside, but I'm not complaining!

The year's started out a little dodgy...oldest DD and DGD have strep throat  . Another DD has a sinus infection and so it goes. I'm petrified of getting sick since I babysit DGD7mos 3 days a week and don't want to be responsible for her getting ill. (It's amazing how different it is being a grandmother as opposed to a mother! I can just sit and watch that baby play all day!)

Thanks for the info, Mary. We own at AKV. Any idea if 7 month availability for a 1-night stay at BC or BW is feasible for us? I guess we'll just have to call when the time comes (got to get out the calendar ;) ).

Joanne,

:wizard: for DD, DGD and DD. I don't know what is wors strep throat of sinus infection.

Glad it passed you up. I do agree I would take the cold and wet instead of the freezing rain.

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday. Wasn't on much last night as Mark was putting a new hard drive in my computer. So I helped back up some e-mails etc. and then let him have the computer while I watched the Biggest Loser.

Joanne - we switched from BWV (where we own) to BCV last year at 7 months with no problems. I would think that since Food and Wine doesn't start until well after the Member Cruise that you should have a good chance. I would do it as soon as it becomes available.

Now I'm really mad we aren't going this year. It's fun doing all the planning. I will hopefully get to cruise though...going to pay to take my neice on one in Aug.

I just got in from shoveling, salting, and chipping away the ice.

Oh how I would love a cabana massage right now. :beach:

(Preceeded by a Konk Kooler and followed by some time in a nice shady hammock!)
