09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Robbie and Joanne,
Thanks for the well-wishes! Yippee, he is much more himself today and I hope we are over the hump now. Just have to watch he doesn't do too much and get too tired!

So, with everyone feeling better, we should be on the plane on Sunday! :yay:

Have a great time at WDW!!!! pixiedust:

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was pretty busy for me. I know that it was mild for some of you, esp for those of you with kids :rotfl2:, but for me it was busy. Yesterday, I met my sisters down at the assisted living place where my mother lived and we moved out most of the furniture. There are still a few things left that my sisters will pick up next weekend. Then my sister Patty and my niece came up to my house today to help me get my mother's cedar chest out of my car and into the house. That task ended up being easier that we thought. Patty thought to bring rope which helped alot because we were able to tie it around the chest to give us something to lift with. Then after going out for lunch (Texas Roadhouse, yum!) Patty and I put up my clock from the cruise in the living room and the picture that I bought down at WDW. We finally sat down to watch the latest Harry Potter movie. :goodvibes

Now they are on their way home and it is finally time to relax.

Wow Robbie!

You sure were a busy be today. Glad you are sitting and relaxing now. ;)

Sue,

I am sure you have laded safe and sound and having a great time.

Chris - Just think you will be in the world in a few days.

Safe travels for anyone leaving for the world. I have a request if you are in Epcot, If you go to Germany can you look for Lindt Chocolate,, A friend came back from Germany with some amazing Lindt chocolate with Alcohol in it. If they have it, find out if it can be shipped and get me a phone number to call to order it. I would really appreciate it, it tasted wonderful. And he told me I could not order it on the internet.Hummmmy:woohoo::woohoo:

Diane,

If you do not have any luck with getting details from the Epcot shop, I may be able to help. Do you know the name of the type of chocolate or the type of liquor that was in it? My sister's 'significant other' lived in Germany many years. His family is originally from Germany but he grew up here in the states. He went back to Germany years ago and just moved back to the US this past year now that his daughters are grown up. Since he still has lots of family over there I am sure I can ask him to have some sent over. You just need to get me the details. You should PM me your address and an email address so we can communicate off the DIS. I know my sister used to come home with different items that were not available here in the states.

Let me know the details and I will ask him to research how much it would cost to ship it to you.

Regards, Lisa

Hello All!

I only have a few minutes then we need to head out. We have a scouting event at the Nuclear Plant. We are going to the training facility and the kids are going to get to use the simulator. Should be exciting.

Sue - Hope you got down to WDW safely and that Dustin is back to normal so he can enjoy the vacation. Happy Birthday to John!!!!

It sounds like Dusting and Lauren must have similar bugs. She had a stomach bug about 2 weeks ago and then she got sick again this morning down at my parents house. She is home now and seems to be okay. Tired but okay.

Chris and everyone else out there with all that snow. Glad to hear things are starting to thaw out. It warmed up around here this past weekend which was a nice change.

Robbie - Sounds like you had a very busy weekend. Hope all is okay with you and your family.

Dave - We have not yet created our big chart but we made a list of jobs and we are using a whiteboard right now. Last time we were at Walmart we we could not find the poster board because they remodeled and everything has been moved. We were in a hurry so....next time. But, we are doing pretty good. Last week was the first week where the kids planned out the meals in advance and that worked out really well. We all knew exactly what we were going to have on each day. We did make a few minor adjustments based on changes in our schedule but it is working well. We will be planning out this weeks meals tonight. It really makes them feel good to be part of the planning. I did not hear "I don't want that' or 'I don't like that' once last week.

Hello to everyone else out there....we have to get ready to go so I'm signing off for now.

Take Care.

Lisa

Awesome! If you end not being able to get it shipped, let me know where in NH it is sold and I can go get it and mail it to you.

Good morning everyone! Just a quick post as I'm out the door to work. Crazy busy these days and wishing I was up on deck 9 with my friends.

Hope all is well. Those of you leaving for or already at WDW - enjoy! Wish I was with you!

Morning all.

I'm feeling just a bit stressed out right now. This dang weather is going drive me to the funny farm this week.

We have had so much fog lately that you can't even see your hand in front of your face sometimes. It has made the trees beautiful but very hard to drive in. And when you have a 16 year old driving in it it is 100 times worse. Plus now we are to be having an ice event. We could get 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice! Starting tonight, tomorrow and into Thursday. Then rain again on Saturday. So what I am stressing about is the fact that we won't be home and the girls will be and Becca has a Show Choir competition Saturday, so she will need to get to town to catch the bus, probably at some ungodly hour of the morning too. Her practices for the last two weeks have run until almost 11:00 at night. I didn't sleep last night and am just, ughhhhhhhhhhh. Sorry, guys. I guess I just need to vent.

I just hate leaving the girls home during the winter by themselves. I need to call my sister to see if she will be able to help.

Well, enough.

Hope you all have a good day.

Chris, worrying about the kids driving in that weather would give me gray hair if I didn't already have it! Whew, I hope all works out well for you and the girls. :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Lisa-Glad to hear that some change is working out in your favor. It must be nice not having to hear the standard "But I don't like that" line. When does your next class start? Is the next class your last class?

Mary-How I wish I was up there as well, I think the farther we get away from our last cruise the more I miss it!! I didn't think that was possible.

Chris-It must be hard, but you have good kids. Hopefully she knows if it is too bad, to call someone for a ride or stay home. Just as long as she doesn't try and do something beyond her driving abilities. Hopefully your sister will be able to help out a little, it is nice to have a supportive family.

As for the funny farm, when you get here look me up...lol:rotfl2:

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Chris - not having kids I can't tell you I know exactly how you feel but I totally understand about worrying about loved ones. I hate driving in bad weather! I can only say that I'm sure you have taught them well and they won't take chances if the weather gets really bad. Hopefully you can let the stress go and enjoy your trip!

Morning everyone.

Home from work today - and no school for the kids - because of the ice we are getting. Bobby went out in our driveway and said no way are we going to town. Plus our driveway is on a hill. Getting down would probably be no problem because we would slide all the way down but getting back up would not be good.

Thanks for the kind words about the girls. Yes they are good kids and I know Becca wouldn't take any chances. I talked to my sister yesterday and she said that she would keep track of them and make sure they are safe. But, another storm system is supposed to be making its way here by the weekend. Yippeeeeeee!

Hope Sue is having a great time down in Florida. Looks like she should be having fairly decent weather.

Chris,

I know what you mean about woring about the kids drinving.:) It is not easy and with the weather you have been having. But like you said they are good kids.:)

So sorry about the ice storm you are having. We are under and advisory. BUt so far nock on wood we have not gotten any. But they say it will be here in the morning. They say we should get at least a 10 of an inch if it. I sure hope not. Not sure if I want to drive to work in that. We will see.

When do you leave for FL?

HI everyone else. HOpe all is well.

Good Morning My Cruising Buddies!

How I wish we were on the cruise right this very moment. I can picture us all there in my mind so that is where I am right now. -- See Dave the funny farm is getting closer to me .

Well, one more sleep at home then we will be at SSR. We have to repack tonight I think. I packed more long sleeve shirts than I think I need. The weather is looking for mid to upper 70's almost 80. So, I think I need more t-shirts.

The drive to work wasn't too terribly bad this morning. Still slick though. Our driveway is horrible at the bottom. Sheer sheet of ice. There is to be a warm up on Saturday so hopefully it will melt a little. Doubt it but there is always hope.

I hope you guys in Illinois are not getting all the freezing rains and stuff. And if you are be very careful. It is nasty.

Have a great day! :flower3:
