09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

We are flying out of Chicago's Midway- and they will fly in anything for the most part... didn't want to have to worry about delays and cancellations that tend to happen at O'Hare. Of course, we are taking Southwest, and they also have a history of landing planes in the middle of the intersection.... but that is another story! At least the will and the life insurance is up to date!! Sheesh! No, I'm not worried about getting there.... but my hubby's all worried about some tropical depression thats down there now....

I told him I wasn't even going to look- because even if it rains, I'm going to have lots of fun!! I have soooo been looking forward to this trip, that I can't imagine not having an excellent time.

Here's a great site. The yellow spot over NC isn't named yet but could become something (though yellow means low chance). The red named storm Fred is way over by Africa.

Here's a great site. The yellow spot over NC isn't named yet but could become something (though yellow means low chance). The red named storm Fred is way over by Africa.

Thanks so much for posting this every day now. I used to like getting up on Sunday mornings to see it but now seeing it every day is great.

Nope, it was Southwest. My mom and daughter were supposed to fly home from Florida that day, and I called her- kind of nervous about her flying because we had gotten soooo much snow that day, and it wasn't stopping.... her flight was supposed to be leaving- it was the one after that flight ... but the were cancelled at the last minute (thank God). Anyway- the plane didn't get the friction it needed on the runway, and ran right off of the runway, and into the middle of the intersection at Cicero and where ever Midway's cross street is! It hit a car. Can you even imagine- your sitting there in your car, and here comes something towards your car- and you realize it's a plane!!?? the weather was terrible that day. I ahve not seen it snow like that in a long time. It was crazy.

I remember seeing it on TV and going oh my. You are right I can't imagine being on the plane and seeing the cars so close to the plane or being on the cars and seeing a plane coming at me. That is such a busy intersection on the south side to. That was a terrible storm. Glad there flight was cancelled.

Well, it's a dreary day in NJ! Clouds all day, high of only 72 (maybe), and a possible shower. Yuck!!!!!

Going to finish packing today - got almost everything done last night!

I'm so excited!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Mary, for the weather link!! DH tells me to relax about things - and I know I should - so I'm trying.

One thing I have to make me realize that its going to be a great time is that on this vacation, I have all of you to meet and enjoy! Thank you all for welcoming me in a little later than some, and making me feel happy to "know" you all!!

Yup - I think it's all up and down the east coastline! I'm the constant worrier though. I hope the bad weather doesn't affect our flight! I like to fly - but not in bad weather!!

thanks for the anniversary wishes everyone! it is a good day so far, however i have only been up for about an hour!

i went on facebook this moring and i am so upset. last night i put that i was hungry. well my hair dresser saw it and commented that is what happens when pregas! i haven't announced to the whole world yet! my godmother comments after her "an OFFICIAL announcement! Congrats!" Its ok, but i was waiting until we got back from the cruise to call and tell her personally. I can't believe she found out from an "im hungry post"! oh well, too little too late. She is a teacher so I will call her this afternoon and tell her verbally. i am just so disappointed, i don't know how many others might have read that during the night, ya know? I am sure I am going overboard but i think i am better now. thanks for listening!
