09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Since I am also flying Southwest - I probably don't want to know what you guys are talking about!!!! :scared1:

Night Night!

5:00AM is right around the corner

Carrie,

Was taht a southwest that landed on Cicero? I thought it was American?

Nope, it was Southwest. My mom and daughter were supposed to fly home from Florida that day, and I called her- kind of nervous about her flying because we had gotten soooo much snow that day, and it wasn't stopping.... her flight was supposed to be leaving- it was the one after that flight ... but the were cancelled at the last minute (thank God). Anyway- the plane didn't get the friction it needed on the runway, and ran right off of the runway, and into the middle of the intersection at Cicero and where ever Midway's cross street is! It hit a car. Can you even imagine- your sitting there in your car, and here comes something towards your car- and you realize it's a plane!!?? :scared1: the weather was terrible that day. I ahve not seen it snow like that in a long time. It was crazy.

Okay so you all need to slow down. I can not keep up with the posts. I had pages and pages to catch up on thread three and every time I get a page done it looks like 2 more were added.
:scared1:

I am so disappointed we missed the Sail Away. Darn, I was out shopping and the kids were at a BBQ in PA yesterday. I forgot it was Sunday to tell you the truth. Not until I got home and then it dawned on me I missed it....AGAIN. :confused

And I was so looking forward to making my cocktail with the Grey Goose.

Okay, back to reading the posts.

happy reading! I know, it feels like if you are not on here all day, then you have to spend twice as long catching up!!

Well, I am just about done. I am super tired, and I need to get to bed so I don't want to sleep in all day tomorrow instead of packing. It is P-Day after all!! :) So, enjoy your evening, and I will catch up again tomorrow!

You are staying up very late tonight!

Are you all ready for the trip?

I'm at that crazy inbetween. We were packing and making some good progress, then I couldn't find our Disney Halloween shirts that I have - somewhere!- and so I'm still kind of wide awake!

Getting there! Just I few more things to do - but tomorrow is a "mom" day, have to take her to the store and the hairdresser, so I won't get much done at home.

Good Luck with Operation: P-Day!!! Have a good night sleep, Carrie! ;)

Hi Sue!

Yes, I am still up.

I took a break from reading the posts. I think I am on page 14.

I saw your green light still on so figured I would jump back over and say hi.

I have most of our stuff packed. Between the kids and I we have our clothes in two suitcases to be checked and one carryon with a change of clothes and misc things we might need when we get there. I also have a third suitcase to check which is all the FE stuff.

I went shopping yesterday and could not find any shorts or summer capri pants. Well, not anything bigger than a size 4. :confused3 And forget trying to find a bathing suit at this time. Not happening. Maybe in Disney.

I was so disappointed. Oh well.

Well, DS is getting ready for his first day of school tomorrow. We had told his principal that we were taking him out for a week so she got in touch with his teachers and they put together some work for him to do - oh he was soooo happy! :rotfl2:

Sue you are lucky..although your DS may not think so. :lmao:

Our school district will not allow the teachers to provide us school work in advance. My kids start school Wednesday. DD goes to a private school for Kindergarten since our public school K class is only half day. But, DS is starting 5th grade and they will not provide anything. I did email his teacher and he will be able to bring home the novel they will be reading this month. I also went online to the publishers site and found what his spelling and vocabulary words will be for the first story in their Language Arts book. If he brings the Language Arts book home on the first day I can photo copy the first story and we can bring that along. He will have a lot to make up but at least he can do a few things.

Reading all the posts about packing made me laugh. My family (parents, sister, nephews, etc) always make fun of me because I always over pack toiletries, medicines, and stuff like that. I bring daily vitamins, cold medicines, allergy meds, cough drops, tylenol and/or advil, tums, pepto, etc, etc, etc for everyone. Prior to this year I had to bring 3 different types. Adult, older child, younger child. So I had a whole bag of all kinds of stuff for all age groups. :lmao: It was like having a pharmacy.

Well, it never failed that there was always someone that needed the meds. They all laughed but they were not laughing when they needed the tums, cold meds, or worse...the pepto.

And I still find myself on this trip packing every type of med we might possibly need. :confused3 Allergy stuff for DD which includes chewable tablets, anti itch spray, allergy eye drops, and then there are the ear drops for swimmers ear. She had that a couple weeks back so of course I can not leave home without those.

The way I look at it is that it is better to over pack and have it just in case versus having a 5 year old suffering or paying an arm and a leg for it on the cruise ship.

Ok, well I am finally calling it a night. I am tired and Mittens, now about 6 weeks old, is walking all over the key board making it very hard to type . He also bites and claws at everything. He snuggles up under my neck and then OUCH...he bites my neck. He is like a little vampire. My hands, arms, and neck are so sore after today. I tried trimming his nails when he was sleeping but they are still so sharp.

No work tomorrow. Just getting the last minute school supplies for DS, haircuts for kids, getting clothes out for first two days of school, packing book bags, and getting a few items to pack for lunch at school. DS has baseball practice tomorrow night then it will be off to bed early for everyone.

After tonight I will probably be in bed with DD (5) at 8pm.

Lisa

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

I remember that night so well. It was early December and we were flying out of O'Hare going to Disneyland. We got to the airport early and you are right it just kept snowing and snowing and snowing. Our flight was delayed but we got out before they closed O'Hare. When we were watching tv at the hotel and saw the accident. Very sad.
