Good Evening Everyone.

Flo & Diane - yes it is 10 days out you can register on line. My DH did it on day 10 with no problems. He was so excited!

Meagon - we really never unpacked completely from our trip in June. :lmao: We left stuff in the suitcase that we knew we would need. Usually DH packs 4 weeks out. I can't do that because I have to make sure stuff still fits the week before we leave :rotfl: . Yep, I fluctuate! :rotfl2:

Marsha - bummer on the cars. But, what can ya do. Can't be without a vehicle in these days. And it is just crazy what it costs to fix them.

Oh, Meagon, the one good thing with Disney transportation is if you were to have a problem, they would know where you were and the would wait. Last October we were delayed in leaving because a family was on the way to the port from the airport on a Disney bus. The ship knew what was going on and waited for the family. We watched the bus pull up and the family was literally running through the terminal. Not sure how they checked in because once the bus was in the parking lot to the family getting off and running, we set sail in like 5 minutes. No embarkation photos for them! And that would be a terrible way to start vacation, but they made it. I'm afraid if they had used another form of transportation, the ship may not have waited for them. This is just a little FYI for ya.

Have a good night. :flower3:

We travel a lot with our son, Patrick, who is an adult with cerebral palsy. He can't walk much without support. We use a manual wheelchair. He can't work a scooter or an electric wheelchair because of his vision.

I have one suggestion for your friend......make sure your scooter is on the smaller side.....some of the great big ones have trouble on the buses. And I hope she has one to use around the resorts, too, because the distances are pretty far from place to place. A regular size scooter will go on the monorails and the boats, too,so that's good.

Connie

Hi Connie!

Thanks. I just knew you all would be a wealth of information. :flower3:

Wow! You all are just chatting so much out here that it is taking me forever to catch up on posts when I miss a day.

Congrats Sue and Marsha on the :bride:and pirate:

Had my second quiz tonight. Another 10/10. :cool1: I wasn't 100% sure about a couple of the answers but I just worked through trying to rationalize my answers. They were sort of tricky the way they were worded. I was so hesitant to hit the submit button but what a relief when I saw I got them all right. :thumbsup2

As for getting ready for the cruise.....I do not have my FE or the FE gifts finished, I have nothing packed yet, do not have the suitcases down out of the attic, and I do not even have my packing list put together. You may all laugh but I am starting to get a little stressed about not being prepared at this point. I should have at least started a list. :scared1:

Because this is our first cruise I feel a little out of my element. I am worried I will not be prepared and will forget something. But if I really stop and think about it whatever I pack for our regular WDW trips would be sufficient for this cruise. Just have to make sure I bring those passports!

Maybe if I use a little :wizard: my classwork will be finished, my SAS 70 audit at work will be over, my FE stuff will be ready, and my suitcases will be packed. Oh one more :wizard: and all the planning will be done for my Webelos den for this upcoming year. Yikes! I have not even thought about that yet.

I could use one of those Fu Fu drinks you all refer to right now!!

I just can not believe it is here already. This summer is flying by.

Good night and have a great Thursday!!!!

Hello everyone. This morning I had to take my car to the shop because terrible sounds were coming from the engine. Well, I needed a timing belt, which had come loose, and a water pump that was damaged by the timing belt coming undone, and a thingamabob that holds the timing belt in place. Needless to say the repairing it took all day and cost a whole lot of money. UGH! Three weeks ago I had a tune up and that was more $ and last month Dh's car needed new brakes. I cannot believe how much $ we have spent on our cars in one month time. But, I am grateful that we were able to get them fixed. It just sucks charging stuff to the credit card that I wasn't planning on. The bright side: I used my Disney card so I should have some good rewards.

Marsha, that stinks about having to spend all that cash on car repairs. And it always seems to happen at the wrong time. We just tell ourselves that repairs are cheaper per year than new car payments.

Congrats on your test results! Great job :thumbsup2 .

I'm starting to get a little stressed about preparations for the cruise, too, but only because it's a member cruise and we haven't done one before and we're not entirely sure what to expect. At least we have no previous member cruise to compare with, so it will be the best member cruise ever for us ;) . We have learned not to overpack, but we are planning on bringing an additional bag for the goodies. Ooooh, it's so exciting to think about.

Oh, and count me in line for a fufu drink, too. Yum!

Hey there. It's been about a week since I was on last- and I've been thinking about something that someone posted to me- they said don't overpack!

Hmmm.... Ok- time for a little truth here- I am certainly the overpacking type!! What kind of clothes do we actually need for the cruise?! Dressy nights? Casual?

Don't forget- I'm traveling with three kids- so that automatically qualifies me for the I will bring too much club!!

Thanks,

Carrie

Carrie,

I used to over pack allot!;) My DH said that I could say for a few weeks with what I pack. But now with the charge for the luggage I tend not to do that much any more. Good luck with packing. With 3 kids you have to bring allot more change of clothes.

Good morning everyone - happy Thursday!

Lots to catch up on with all the posts - the thread is really hopping.

I think most of the questions have been answered but I can chime in on the overpacking. I always used to pack too much but I've trimmed it down over the years.

Here's my basics:

Daytime - swim suits, shorts, t-shirts

Palo brunch - men - nice slacks & polo shirt (or a Tommy Bahama type shirt). Ladies - sun dress, capri's and nice top, slacks and nice top.

Dinner - pretty much the same as Palo brunch for the main dining rooms.

Pirate night - same as above or a pirate outfit.

Palo dinner - men - dress pants, button down shirt, tie, jacket (though a jacket isn't required). Ladies - nice dress or a dressier slack/top or capri/top combo.

Hope this helps.

Some people never really get out of their swim suits during the day and like to hang by the pool on the sea day. We prefer to do more of the inside stuff like the talks etc so go for shorts/t-shirts.

Also since we often switch back to shorts after dinner I don't pack a separate pair of slacks for Mark each night. Usually 2 pair and use them for the dinners and Palo brunch.

Good Morning. I can't believe how cool it is here in Iowa today. Our high is to be 74! Usually we are around 86, so we are way below our normal temps. This has certainly been a weird weather year for us.

I am in the overpacking club too! But this time I am going to try and cut back. The only thing is, doing Disney for 3 days after the cruise I do have to take some extra shorts and stuff. And since we won't have a washer/dryer in the room, like we do at SSR, I just can't make myself do laundry on vacation. At SSR I would throw a load in before we left, and then dried it when we got back. Piece of cake. So, we'll see how the packing goes!

Congrats on the test Lisa. You sure are busy. I don't know how you are keeping it all straight :confused3. But kuddos to you for doing it. Just think about 44 more days till cruise time. Then bring on the fufu drinks!

Dianne,

Did you ever get the t shirts that you ordered from disney.com? I was just there looking at t shirts and I remembered your post of going back and forth between Disney and UPS.

i am waiting for the wonder to leave port. I have a question does anyone know it that is a live camera or on a delay

Don't forget- I'm traveling with three kids- so that automatically qualifies me for the I will bring too much club!!

Hi Carrie!

I am traveling with 3 kids too! I will be watching for the reply to your message!

How old are your kids?

I haven't been on here for a long time, but catching up now :)

I am sorry if I have asked this question before. I searched my posts on both threads and could not find where I asked it. Hmm.. I am just not sure.

So, here it is.

What is not included as part of your payment for the cruise?

alcohol, palo, spa, excursions, ????

I am trying to finalize our budget for this vacation and I am not sure what else to include as far as expenses during the cruise.

Tips for dining are included - realizing that we may want to give something a little extra for those really outstanding folks.

What other tipping needs to be considered?

What else would I need to budget for???

I say you can never pack too much! The only problem is that if you are flying, you are really restricted to how much luggage you can bring!

BUT if you are driving, pack whatever you want!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Lisa,

You got most of them. If the kids go to the clubs you might want to give the counslers some thing and also if you order room service. I bring singles for that.

That is all I can think of.
