Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

Was going to get up early to watch the shuttle launch but it was scrubbed last night so I was able to sleep in a little. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone - they really help boost my spirit if not my platelets. :)

Good Morning Everyone!

Mary, good wishes are being sent your way. Hope everything works out for Monday. :wizard:

Good Morning, everyone.

I am a rookie at all of this but have been a Disney vet for ages. We're going on the 09 Member Cruise, our second member cruise, but got really interested in the fish extender idea. Could I get some more info and can we still join in on the fun?

Welcome to the DIS and the cruise group. I hope you stick around and get to know us and we can get to know you!

Here's a getting to know you question for everyone?

How do you prepare for your trip/cruise?

Are you a spreadsheet person, a journal person, just wing it? Let's share our planning styles.

How about a new catagory that I can fit in ; Anal over planner

This is my first cruise since 2002 and back then I did not plan anything since that was DH's job (I was planning the wedding).

What I have been doing for this cruise is keeping everything on the computer and in a binder. I type up tips I read on the Dis. I will print those out and put in the binder and I keep important documents in the binder as well.

At times, DH puts me in the same category.

Welcome Sue. You will find a lot of useful information in this thread.

This has probably been asked already and if so I apologize I just can't remember. What are some things that people give as fish extender gifts? I know candy is one but what are some others?

Marsha,

We have gotten some of theses: Pencil; first aid kit (band aids, Kleenex, clothes pin (to keep curtain shut), lip balm, pirate things, life savers, post cards from were you live, magnets all kinds even from were you live, little puzzle books).

That is a start. If I think of more I will let you know.

I have already started getting mine ready. I am going to ship mine to the ship. With the luggage restrictions I don’t want any more then I have to carry.

Take care

Flo,
Thank you. I am beginning to think of some possible items I want to give as FE gifts. I am also keeping my eyes open in case something catches my eye when I am out shopping.

Marsh,

Do you have Target by you? You can get some things in a section they have infront of the stor by one of the doors. Some of the things come in packages. Like 5 markers for 1.00. They have a bunh of different things there. It also can give you ideas. I got some things there but I als ogot allot of ideas. Michaels also has allot of little things (that you don't have to make).

I do have a Target by me. I have been looking there to see if anything catches my eye. I have not looked in Michaels though. I will give that a try.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Everyone has such great ideas to share. We've been DVC members since '94. Our first member cruise was '05. We've been on 4 other cruises, different lengths, and really love these ships. In '07, we brought all of our family and some friends down to OKW (18 of us in total) for what we called "John's 20/20" . It was my husband's 20 Disney trip in 20 years! We did shirts and all kinds of things - my one girlfriend still works in advertising like I used to. It was alot of fun.

So I can't wait to decorate our door and participate in the fishextender fun!

Flo, I've shipped things to the resorts before, but didn't know you could send to the ship. Anything special that you have to do for the addressing - like specific cruise date, stateroom number, etc?

Sue

alright, here's another question,
do the staterooms have electrical outlets by the beds?
I need one for medical reasons, so do I need to contact quest relations?
