Question of the Day:

Since the question was asked about what your favorite restaurant on DCL was (thanks Mary). Here is the next one about restaurants.

What is your favorite restaurant at Disney (CA or FL) or in Downtown Disney?

My favorate is Fultons Crab House in Downtown Disney Florida. We make sure we stop there when ever we are at Disney. This September will be no different. Great Crab legs. Also, my DH has had steak there and he said that it was one of the best he has ever had.

Well, I finally got a response from DVC about our cruise and here it is;

"Thank you for contacting Member Services.

We do apologize for the delay, however, details of the Member Cruise are
still being determined. Please continue to periodically visit the Member
Website for information as it will be posted once the details have been
put into place.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance."

Still doesn't say much except maybe they can't get anyone to sign a commitment.

We've never been to Fultons but used to love when it was the Empress Lily. They had a section called the Steerman's Quarters which was wonderful. They had great steaks!

Thanks Ray! At least they now know people are asking. I think Chris sent something as well. I'm sure others have too. Let's hope they are planning something super special and that's why it is taking so long. :)

Yes there is pin trading. The cart comes out every night and depending on who is on board some traders will set up in the same area to trade. In addition the staff in guest services and some in the shops also wear lanyards with trading pins.

If this is like our past couple of member cruises we will get a number of pins as gifts and there is usually a special pin for sale.

Also there is usually one night when the officers show up in the lobby with lanyards on.

Thanks. I am new to pin trading but I will definitely bring along my pins.

I enjoy 'Ohana but I have limited experience at eating at restaurants at Disney. So, any recommendations would be appreciated.

hello everyone. I fell off the wagon again and haven't been on here in a week or two. As far as dining goes, it may sound silly but I loved the Boathouse at Port Orleans Riverside. The Fillet Mignon is wonderful! I think it stinks that they have not announced anything about the cruise. I do hope that it is because it is something really good but I am kind of scared that it is because no one wants to do it and that it will stink or worse, they will cancel it.

I sent a message to DVC a while back but still no response.
So the theme is going to be "Fun Without Organization"

I think you are right.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday! So glad the weekend is almost here!

Anyone else planning on going to se UP! this weekend? We are.

Marsha - there are so many restaurants that there is something for everyone. Here are some of our favorites and why.

Kona Cafe - as I stated this is our favorite. Great spot for lunch during a busy day at the Magic Kingdom.

Yachtsman Steakhouse - very good steaks. A little more upscale than most.

LeCellier - the steakhouse in Canada at Epcot (can you tell I like steak). :)

Liberty Tree Tavern - in the Magic Kingdom. All you can eat family style in the evening and regular sit down during the day.

Columbia Harbor House - in the Magic Kingdom. Counter service that features chicken and fish. Can get a little noisy but we like going upstairs and there is a little room of 4 tables that looks out over the walkway below.

Spoodles - at Boardwalk. We love to have breakfast here. Sadly it is going away to be replaced by a Cat Cora restaurant.

Captain's Grill (I think that is the name) at the Yacht Club. We've done this for breakfast and dinner and have enjoyed both.

Cape May Cafe - at the Beach Club. Both are buffets. The breakfast is a character breakfast.

As I said there are so many many others that are good depending on what you like. I'm sure others will step in with recommendations as well.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Friday Morning!

Yes, Marsha, like Mary said there are so many places. We really like Teppan Edo at EPCOT. And Tutto in Italy. We have eaten at the Morocco restaurant and really enjoyed that too. We seem to have a theme of eating at EPCOT. We just love to eat!

One must get snack my family always wants is a spicy cheese stuffed pretzel at HS. We usually found them at MK but they no longer have them there :confused3 and they have them at HS now. Glad they at least still have them somewhere.:)

OOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhh, I am getting so excited. We will be leaving a week from today! :woohoo:

Lots of laundry :laundy: and packing to do this weekend. And we are going to be busy, I mean busy, right up until we leave. Starting tonight, Brooke has her 7th grade lock-in at school. Up all night and then we have dress rehearsal for dance recital at 9:00 am tomorrow morning. :scared1: The actual dance recital is Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday Night. Then she has 3 softball games next week and one practice. My MIL and her friend have decided to come stay with us a few nights starting on Sunday. We need to go get new cell phones and groceries. I'm going to be like this :dance3: before we leave. And we don't know Becca's work schedule yet for next week. One good thing, time will go by quickly! :yay:

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Mary & Chris:

All this talk about food is making me hungry.:) They all sound so good. Wish we were going to a park in September to try the ones in Epcot.

Chris:

A week from today.:woohoo: Time does fly by. Just think when you get back we can make are resev for the SSM09.:cheer2:

Have a good week. I am sure you will get everything done. Glad you family can join you for a while.

The next one I am going to.

Happy Friday everyone!

I am not sure what my plans are for tomorrow, maybe just errands. On Sunday, my sister Patty (Princess Power) is coming up with the kids. We are going to a comic book show so that my nephew can see a group that dress up as Star Wars Stormtroopers.

Mary,

The time is flying!;) I wish I was staying concierge. Maybe one day I will get that chance. It sounds nice.

For castaway members it is about two weeks away. Even that is close. I remember when we first booked and it was so far away. Before you know it it will be here.:cool1:

I have always traveled on the cruise with 5 or more and where seated at our own table for dinner. How does disney decide who sits with whom on a members cruise.

MNRA:

I personally think it is a random thing. On the last couple of Disney cruises there have been 3 of us (DW, DH, and DS) and we have always been seated with people. I have asked for a table for 3 but never have gotten. It was usually a family of 3 or more. Hope this helps.

If you would like to sit with other DIS people check out the first page first post. I am doing linked dinning. The information that I would need to do this is in that post.

Take care
