Good morning everyone - happy Thursday.

Just finally getting around to checking back in on our cruise. I realized that our trip was in under 5 months and I haven't been posting on our thread since back in Oct/Nov right after I booked the trip. Bad Diser!!! I see that I have a ton of posts to catch up on but thankfully I have a few months to get them all read and get into the swing of things. I am just getting ready to book our pre-night on Saturday. Are most of the disers staying at one place. I would like to try and make some of the pre-cruise meets as they sound really fun.

I am ready to be on that boat today I tell you.

So glad you checked in with us. When I saw your post on the main board I thought you had posted before but wasn't sure. That's why I posted the link. Especially since we moved to this new thread. :)

I wanted to say thank you for the kind words for Kyle. I have not had a chance to show him all your Get Well Wishes yet but he'll be happy to see them.

I have to take him to get his cast on tomorrow. The big decision is ...What color cast to get. Wouldn't that be great if that was the only major decision in our life. The color of our cast.

Thanks again.

Have a good night.

How about DIS lime green. :thumbsup2

What one thing haven't you done that you want to try this time? The galley tour. Do they do that on the member cruise?

Have you been on a DVC Member cruise before?

If no:

What have you read about that you can't wait to see or try? I am hoping that there are legends on this one like the last one I read about. That would be awesome!!

What one question have you had that you just didn't know where or how to ask? (we're here to help) In addition to the special shows and gatherings for it being a member cruise do they still offer the regular shows. I haven't seen Toy Story yet and am excited to.

Looking at the navigators from last years cruise they did offer the Galley Tour on our sea day. This was at the same time as a DVC presentation so you may have to make a choice.

The Legends were 2 years ago. Last year was Disney Inspirations, but I felt some of them were still legendary.

They do offer the regular shows but some are replaced by special DVC shows. In 2007 they had two special nighttime shows but last year only the last night. Last year they showed The Golden Mickeys, Toy Story The Musical, and Disney Dreams.

Well, my wife would about die if Julie Andrews were there, and I'm all about keeping her (my wife) happy

I would love it too but would be really surprised if it happened. I thought I heard at one point that they tried but couldn't get her.

Bad news, while I was out having my knees replaced, the hospital had to cut 20 positions for budget cuts....mine was first to go. So now we have no wound care specialist and no ostomy nurse. I feel so terrible for the ostomy patients. Caring for someon with a colostomy or ileostomy is more than cutting a hole in a wafer and putting on a pouch. The expertise it takes to take care of issues with extensive wounds and ostomies is unappreciated by doctors and administrators. I still have a job, I am now working with the orthopedic surgeon...not using my brain at all, however.

In our town they also cut the wound/ostomy nurse position. So, I suppose this is becoming a trend. I hope all of the patients who are in need write letters to administration, or go to their congressmen...I work in a Veteran's hospital.

Of course, I cried and cried for weeks...and I would just burst into tears when anyone brought it up to me. I am better now, but it has consumed my life for months now. I just pray about it, that's all I can do.

So, I was going to work until I am 65, but now I will probably retire at 62 and I am 59 now. Unless I end up in a job that I love, that is.

Susan

It is very hard when cuts are made for both sides. Those cut are out of work and we all know how hard that is. Those left behind often take on more work or other work like you and that is also hard.

Congrats on the overtime. Always makes that paycheck a little nicer. I'm salaried so it doesn't matter how long I work. :rotfl: Looking forward to getting back to work today as sitting all day made the day looooooong.

Question for everyone....do we want to set a cut-off date for sign-up on this. We did this last year which gave everyone a chance to have them all made in time. It seems that we always get some people popping in at the last minute and that makes it hard for everyone. I know what Linda (seaulater) has done for us in the past is to put in the mini-nav she does who is participating. Those who signed up before the deadline got a Nemo and those who signed up late got a Crush. That way if anyone had extras to give to those people they knew who they were.

I know we'll be setting up a cut-off for the buttons - most likely August 21st.

Time to answer my own questions. :)

Have you been on a Disney cruise before?

If yes:

What was one of your favorite memories of the cruise? Brunch with friends in Palo

What one thing have you done that you definitely want to do again? Couples massage

What one thing haven't you done that you want to try this time?
Can't think of anything we haven't tried that we wanted too.

Have you been on a DVC Member cruise before?

If yes:

What was one of your favorite memories of the cruise? Richard Sherman's performance on the 2007 cruise.

What do you enjoy about the Member Cruise? All of the special guests that DVC brings on for us. We've found something we've loved every single year. I also love the group photo.

If you could choose one thing special for the Member Cruise what would it be?
A 7 day Member Cruise would be awesome.

Wow. You are so right. My former nursing colleague is here for a conference and is staying with me (I just dropped her off at the Hilton at DTD). We worked together at a children's hospital in a surgical ICU for kids under the age of two. We were reminiscing last evening about certain patients and a few times the topic became "remember Ashlin's colostomy???" I remember several patients in particular that had challenging ostomies. It was few and far between that we had babies where you could just cut a hole in a wafer and stick on the pouch. Most required much more than that. So *I* appreciate what you do......even if some people can't see it!!

Have you been on a Disney cruise before?

If yes:

What was one of your favorite memories of the cruise? There are really so many, mostly involving my grandson (5 at the time) including planning for the cruise. On of the favorites was floating around the lagoon on an inner tube with my grandson on my lap. We were gone so long my stepdaughter got worried and came to find us.

What one thing have you done that you definitely want to do again? Mickey bars for dessert.

What one thing haven't you done that you want to try this time?
Parasailing

Very good questions Mary.:thumbsup2

Can someone clarify for me regarding the Fish Extenders.

Do we give items per cabin or per person ?

I am not sure I can tell exactly how many people there are per cabin that are participating based on the list.

For instance, in our cabin it is 1A 2C......not 2A. If it is per cabin it does not matter but if we give per person we would need an exact count.

This is our first cruise therefore first time participating in the fish extenders. I want to make sure I do it right. :hippie:

Appreciate your feedback.

Well we are getting closer and we seem to have stalled talk wise and lost some of our regular posters. So now might be a good time for some questions. Some for new cruisers, some for repeat cuisers. Have fun!

Having a massage in the cabana at Castaway Cay.

I definitely want to schedule another massage.

I think that I would like to try Palo.

hmmm, I'll have to figure out something that I haven't already asked.

Lisa,

Does the below help you? In the past I have done per cabin. It is up to you on the way you want to do it. I put the kids separate in case you want to put something in there for them.

Kellyjean2002 1 adult

FaithTruseNPixieDust 1 adult

Example: Kellyjean2002: there are 3 people 2 are children.

take care

There really is no rule. It is totally up to you. Last year we did per person as our gift (other than the buttons we did pre-cruise) were lifesavers with special wrappers. We gave one for each person. In addition when we stopped at the Florida welcome center they had small coloring books so we picked one up for each of the kids on the list.

I know others in the past who did one gift per room. On our 2006 cruise some of the cruisers even got together and did a gift together. They did a small white board that went on our cabin doors with our group logo on it. Very cool.

So I don't know if this has helped or not...bottom line it is totally up to you.

hopeing for a :bride: to even out my group. :)

well I got a pirate: instead.

Congrats to Lisa on the:bride:
