Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

The good Lord willing chemo #10 is this morning. I really hope I can have and click one more off my list.

Haven't done our door signs yet but we'll more be tweaking past ones to update for this cruise. I don't get super fancy but they work for us. :)

Mary,

Here is some pixiedust:and prayers that all goes as planed.:grouphug:

Linda, you lucky duck! So how many times to Disney so far this year? :confused3 Weren't you there earlier this year with a cheerleading thing, and now a cruise in August and another in September? I'd say, you are one lucky person!!!!! ;) I wanna go with you.

I went to Orlando in March for the National Drill Team Championships with my daughter's drill team. Went to WDW, but didn't get to cruise. :confused3

Then for my daughter's 17th birthday in April we went back to Orlando and went on the Wonder for 3 nights and then to WDW for 3. Every year we go on a mother/daughter birthday trip. (Last year we went to Wicked in Los Angeles and DL for her 16th birthday).

Then I was out in California on business the end of April, so stayed at Grand Californian in a Concierge room with DVC points for the weekend, that was a blast.

Then, there is a whole group of us that is cruising on August 13th for the 10 year anniversary of the Inaugural Sailing of the Disney Wonder! We all cruised the Panama Canal Cruise together, the Transatlantic together and other cruises together too, so it's like a big reunion. We also all went on the Magic's 5 night cruise last September after it returned from the PC in 2008. We live all over the country and enjoy getting together.

Then, I love the DVC Member cruises and it just so happens that the Member Cruise is one month after the Aug cruise, that's why I'm going so close together.

After that, unless someone can talk me into it, (or DCL offers some great deal), we are not cruising again until June 5 next year for the repositioning of the Magic to Northern Europe. Jamie graduates from high school and then we fly out right after graduation and will be on the ship from June 5 - June 24 for her graduation present. Then we will stay in London a couple of days after the cruise to sightsee with some friends we met back on DCL a number of years ago. They live right outside of London and have offered to show us around. That's another great thing about DVC and DCL, you get to meet and become friends with people all over the country and the world.

And yes, if I had to choose, I would go on a cruise hands down over going to the parks. I love being able to relax, or be as busy as I want and love the cast members on the ships.

Mary good luck on the chemo today! Hope all goes well! :wizard:

Hi Everybody!

I need some help. Nothing to do with the cruise but you are all the first ones I thought of.....:grouphug:

Is there is anyone out there with experience in travelling to WDW with a person with a disability? Please read.

I have a room booked for my sister and friend 9/24-9/28. Since the room was booked, the friend (early 40s) has had a major stroke which required extensive surgery involving the head. No need to get into more details other than we are so fortunate for her to be here today since she had only been given a 30% chance of survival when this all happened.

She has been in a rehab facility ever since. She is at the point where she is mobile while using 2 canes but only for short distances.

At this point, the doctors have okayed her to go on this trip. If nothing else, she needs it to lift up her spirits. Very depressed as you can imagine. The two have been doing an annual 'mothers only' trip for the past few years.

The room had originally been booked at OKW near the Hospitality House so that will be good. I just contacted DVC and they were able to update the reservation and reserve a handicapped accessible room. I tried to get BCV so they would not have to worry about the bus to Epcot but no openings. Maybe I should call back and check for BWV.

My sister is going to make arrangements for a scooter rental.

She called the airline and was able to arrange special seating and wheelchair assistance at the airports.

Can anyone think of any other special arrangements that need to be made?

Any suggestions for planning, things to take, just anything at all that we should consider?????

Any information would be so greatly appreciated.

Regards, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

My sister and I have traveled to WDW several times with my mom. She has MS and uses a scooter. It sounds like you have done everything that you need to. Just remember to allow extra time for the buses. If there is already a scooter (or two) on the bus when it gets to your stop, you will have to wait for the next one. That doesn't happen often. If the bus driver does have to leave you, they radio for another bus to come pick you up.

Also remember that if your friend gets tired, she can go to the first aid station to rest.

Wendy and Cathy

I believe that the form is on the member website.

Marsha,

The one that is in your room when you get here is from the hotel. Robbie is right it is on the DVC site. You log in and on the page page you will see grocery list. Click on it and then on the next page before you print it it will ask you for what hotel.

Then there is also garden grocer that will deliver to the hotel you are at. Type in garden grocer in your serch engine and you will find it. They hae more of a varitey of items for purchase.

Hope this helps.

take care

Glad you had a great time at the wedding.

Robbie & Flo, thank you. I thought that the DVC members' website was where I saw the order form for groceries delivered to your room.

Marsha, your little guy is such a cutie. Did you get any pics of him dancing? Is the uncle who took him swimming the one who wanted to go to the water park in Feb? ( I still smile when I think about how badly he wanted someone to go w/him.)

Flo, I repeat, you are the Pirate Queen! Congrats to you and Chris.

I did get some pics of him dancing and I believe the photographer got some too.
This was a different uncle who was able to go swimming with him. He was at Disney with us but came the day after we met. My Uncle Freddie never did get to go to the water park though. He couldn't convince anyone to go, except for Charles.

Thank you to everyone. We are in the home stretch with only 2 more treatments to go (after I finish this one on Wednesday).

If all goes well I should be finished before the cruise!

Hello to everyone else out there....have a great week!

Can't hang around too long. I am still logged in for work. Getting all the deliverables ready for our next SAS 70 audit.

Then I need to finalize and submit my topic for my research paper, do a little studying for my next quiz, and try to read the next two chapters. :scared1:

Only 5 more sessions for this class :thumbsup2
