Actually I think it was 2006 that had the biggest gift. The large wood box with a scrapbook inside. Someone we talked to about shipping them home said it weighed like 30 pounds for 2 (maybe 3) of them.

Well with all this talk of needing new shoes and crocs. We stopped at Sports Authority while we were out today and I picked these up:

Since I'll be wearing mostly tan and khaki slacks for dinner they should work nice.

Those are awesome...I saw those on line

Does anyone know when the Disney Dream is going to start booking? Any info on Inaugural cruise?

Wow, I just realized I have that same style in brown, bought them orginally for work, but have not been able to wear them much, cause my feet keep swelling. So I am not sure if i am taking them on the cruise. But I knew I liked them.

Just came up from the basement. Myself and DH were making are door signs for the cruise. Well really he was doing them and I was watching and suggesting. They are coming out so nice.

Now it is time to go make dinner.

Thanks for the congrats.

Another question, has anyone started packing yet?

We just came back from NC so I unpacked our suitcases from that trip and put some stuff in them for the Disney trip.

Marsha,
Are you coming up to Jersey for the wedding or is it down by you? Weddings are great - have a great time?
(sorry I typed faster - :rotfl:

We went to NC for the wedding but we still have two more trips before the cruise and one is to NJ & PA since I have lots of family in the Philly area. The other is to DE.

Hi Everyone!!

Sounds like you all are keeping busy. No time to comment on individual posts so I will send my well wishes to all those under the weather. Glad to see others are feeling better and getting back to normal routines.

Class 2 of 7 was tonight and had my first quiz. 10/10 so that is a good start.

I think someone had inquired as to the classes I am taking...maybe it was Chris. I am working on a Master of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in Information Assurance.

The specific class I am taking right now is Security Concerns with Radio Frequency Identification. Exciting stuff!! It actually is pretty interesting. That is until I have to read about all the really technical stuff like frequencies, wave lengths, etc. Fortunately we are focusing our efforts on solving a business problem with RFID for our research paper. We get to pick the industry and business problem. The paper does not have to be all the technical details.

Did you all know that your passports (as of 2006) have RFID tags in them? It contains the information that is printed in your passport as well as a digital picture.

Okay, well I am exhausted and I have to get up earlier to get DS off to Scout Day Camp, DD off to summer camp at school (we can not call it school or she refuses to go - as long as we call it camp I can usually convince her to get up and get ready):confused3, and myself off to work in the office tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your week and the weekend. We are heading to my parents in Cape May. The boys are going fishing out on a charter boat and the girls will probably go to the beach. Oh, did I tell you we started the fish extender - started being the key word here - last weekend when we were at my parents. And, DD picked out your FE gifts when we were at sunset beach in Cape May. She was very excited! If she had her way you would all get Cape May diamonds off the beach. Not sure you would all appreciate then as much as we do around here. This is something my grandparents took me to do when I was a little girl. They are clear and when you clean and polish them they look like diamonds. Okay, sort of like diamonds.

Okay, I am really signing off this time.

Good Night!!

Congrats on the quiz! DH is taking classes for his master's too. He will be getting a Master's in Software Engineering. So, needless to say I know you are very busy.

Hello! My name is Carrie and I am going on the Disney member cruise with my family! (Hubby ryan, DD Claire 8, DS Christian 2, and DS Cameron 1). It will be our first cruise, and I am SOOO excited!! My mom has been on several and told me I needed to get involoved in the boards out here, so here I am!!

I am so excited to go, it is all I think about! Any words of wisdom from the pros out there?

thanks.
Carrie

:welcome: This will be our first members cruise too and we have a DS, Charles, who is 2. Hope to get to know you better before the cruise.

Welcome!!!!

This will be my first DVC cruise, but my second DCL cruise overall. However, my first cruise was way back in '04. So this seems more like my first cruise.

Robbie, same here. This will be our second DCL cruise but feels like our first since our first was in '02.

Hi Marsha,

I was looking at the Cruise Magnet thread and saw that Charles likes balls. I did one for my grandson not too long ago and thought Charles might like one similar to it. Of course I assumed, being from Maryland, ya'll might be Oriole fans. I look forward to meeting ya'll on the cruise.

Mike

Mike, OMG! Thank you so much. I love it and Charles says thank you too. He really did. He wants me to stop replying to messages so that he can look at goofy and the baseball again. Again, thank you. You are so kind.

Ray,

Thanks for the answer. You are right it is no different and I don't have to go get it it will be there. I even have the form filled out. Good to hear you had good service and liked it.

I knew about Garden Grocer but I did not know that you can order food so that it will be in your room when you arrive. Where can I go to find out more info about this? I think I have an idea but I want to be sure.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a wonderful weekend. The wedding was beautiful and DS had a great time at the reception. I never saw him dance so much. He was so cute. Plus, he had fun playing in the hotel's pool with his dad and uncle. I know he is going to want to spend a lot of time in the pool on the cruise. Does anyone know how deep the kid's pool is?

Good morning everyone!

I have a question, is anyone bringing an extra bag for all the "gifts" that DVC gives on this cruise.

I remember the 2005 member cruise, I had so much extra stuff to bring home!

Ravonne

Hi Ravonne,
We will be bringing an extra bag. We were on the 2008 Members Cruise...and the wonderful people on the Dis thread for that cruise suggested to bring an extra bag. I am glad we did.

Marsha,

The one that is in your room when you get here is from the hotel. Robbie is right it is on the DVC site. You log in and on the page page you will see grocery list. Click on it and then on the next page before you print it it will ask you for what hotel.

Then there is also garden grocer that will deliver to the hotel you are at. Type in garden grocer in your serch engine and you will find it. They hae more of a varitey of items for purchase.

Hope this helps.

Marsha, your little guy is such a cutie. Did you get any pics of him dancing? Is the uncle who took him swimming the one who wanted to go to the water park in Feb? ( I still smile when I think about how badly he wanted someone to go w/him.)

Flo, I repeat, you are the Pirate Queen! Congrats to you and Chris.

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday!

We had a really nice Saturday. We took the Amtrak train up north to Milwaukee and spent the day at German Fest. We've gone to Irish Fest for many many years on the SummerFest grounds but never did any of the others. Mark suggested trying German Fest this year (he's Polish/German). Since we only wanted to go up for the day and since the tri-state tollway which we would take is under construction we opted for the train. It worked out great. We drove to the Glenview station which is only about 10-15 minutes from our house. Caught the train up to Milwaukee and then walked to the Fest grounds (about a mile). It was a lot of fun seeing the fest grounds decorated for a different fest than we are used to and seeing all the food they have to offer.

About 3:30 we caught the bus back downtown and it let us off about 3 block from the station. We hung out there for a while and caught the 5:45 train back home. We were back in the house by 7 pm.

All in all a fun day. My ankle is feeling it a bit this morning from all the walking but not too bad.

Today is stay at home for laundry and all those other fun weekend chores.

Have a great day everyone!

WOW! That sounds like so much fun! We always wanted to go to the Irish Fest when we lived in Sterling, IL, but we never did
!

OH, yes, we'd better put in our thin duffle bag....it doesn't take up any space, but it's big enough for presents....

Finished my door magnets today....:cool1:

Diane,

We did not even print are yet. We just decided on the designs yesterday. No my DH will clean them up a bit before he prints them.

Glad you got yours done. One thing less to do.
