Now NASCAR is up my alley :cheer2::cheer2:!!! I am a Dale Jr fan - win or lose I LOVE him:lovestruc!!!! But I love to watch races and have a few guys I like - not as much as JR but guys I'm ok with winning.

I hope he starts having a better season. :) My husband is a huge Smoke fan. I'm a Sadler fan. I just hope he can keep his ride.

:wave2: Hi Ginny and welcome to the thread. I'm not much a of a sports fan. DH took me to a hockey game and I alternated between reading a book and watching the game, which I did find somewhat interesting, just not more than the book  Nascar, I don't get :confused3 DH likes sports except for the dog shows I compete in, he finds them boring and I tell him that's exactly how I feel about football :rotfl2:

I like some sports. :) I've taken a book to baseball games, football games, and if I didn't have a radio/headset...I would probably take one to the race. ;) It's pretty fun to listen to the drivers, to watch the other fans (EXCELLENT people watching), and see the fast driving.

Speaking of books... I'm trying to decide what books to take on vacation (and how many).

Ah, there's another thing to put on my to do list for the cruise...books! Anyone reading or read anything really good lately? I just re-read the Twilight series. DH decided to finally read it after the last movie came out and he's on book 4. I'll probably wind up re-reading HP before the next movie comes out this November.

Terrie :)

Ok. I am trying to read the posts and watch Lost at the same time. I am not doing both well. I am glad I have lost on my DVR. You have been a chatty bunch today.

Does anyone watch Lost? I am so sad that this is the final season. But, I am also happy because I hope that I will get some answers to all of my questions.

BTW, 94 bottles of rum on the wall. 94 bottles of rum. You take one down and pass it around ....

That reminds me. When we were in Barbados this past April I could notbelieve that DH's rum pnch was less expensive than my fruit punch. His rum punch was $4 and mine was $7. I could not believe it.

Sorry...I don't watch lost. I watch House, Grays Anatomy & Private Practice. Which is really strange because I HATE hospitals, needles, and the thought of having to go in for surgery freaks me out! But those are my three favorite shows! lol

That is really weird about the rum punch being cheaper than the fruit punch.

As far as sports...I like to watch Baseball. I live near Chicago and I have to be honest....I like both teams. I like the Cubs because that's the first baseball stadium I ever went to, and I like the White Sox because their games are fun to go to!

And about reading...DH works two jobs and I have a 7 & 10 year old so, sadly, I don't get much time to read.

Well, I hope you all have a great Wednesday!! It's halfway to the weekend!! YAY!!!

Good Morning All,

So for those who may remember me from a couple of weeks ago, I was faced with a dilemma of a family event falling on the same weekend as the SSMC. I appreciate all the input I had from you guys. I looked into all the options including one which involved flying from Maryland to St. Louis to Orlando in a two and a half day stretch. Personally if I was single, that is what I would have done. However, with three young kids and a DH who hates marathon traveling, that option had to be excluded.

So after many sleepless nights and a ton of agonizing, I decided yesterday that I am just going to have to delay my gratification of being on a member cruise. I have to admit though that even after deciding it was one of the most painful calls to make to member services. I also felt really bad for DS8 who had just recently found out (we were going to surprise the kids) and had been then secretly asking me how this cruise was different and special. Hopefully I will be able to make it up to him in some way. On the bright side, someone this morning might be getting a call about having secured a spot on the cruise or someone might be getting an upgrade!! I would love to know if it is someone on this thread.

So now I will be following along even more closely as I will be living vicariously through you all. One of the things that I am most disappointed about is not being able to meet this great group of people in person. Hopefully I will be able to go on one in the future.

So that is my news. I look forward to hearing your experiences. Have a great day.

I was looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully, you will be able to take a member cruise in the near future.

Do you live in MD? I do too. I thought Scott & I were the only two Marylanders on this thread.

I will most likely write a trip report and post the link in this thread. Also, definitely continue to follow along and chat with us.

I'm a LOSTIE!!!!:banana: Did you get to watch?? I don't want to say anything if you didn't!!!

DH and I are SOOOO sad that the series is ending and to make it worse we are fans of 24 also and this is their last season. Luckily my other two shows are NCIS and NCIS:LA - and I'm banking on them returning!!!:thumbsup2

DH watches Lost, I don't. I watch House and Gray's Anatomy too! My other faves are Modern Family, Glee and Dexter (can't wait til it's back!).

Terrie :)

Marsha we live in Northern Virginia but very close to Maryland. We just moved here less than a year ago. Still getting used to the area. Where in Maryland do you live?

I was also looking forward to meeting you. Maybe we can plan a Dis meet in the DC/Maryland area. I have actually seen quite a few posters who are from the area. Hmmm something to think about. I am definitely going to be following you lucky ones along on this thread and then hopefully some trip reports.

Mickeyphile: I am sorry to hear you won't be joining us.

Terrie :)

Terrie, thank you. You are very kind. I am sorry too at not being able to go and finally get to meet this wonderful group in person. However, to put it in better perspective for myself, I have to say that at least we had to cancel due to a family event and not due to illness or financial woes (as so many nowadays are having).

I am very hopeful that we will be able to go on a member cruise in the future. Plus, don't feel too sorry for me (do feel a little sorry but not too much!) because since we had booked mostly on points that had to be used by November 30th, we ended up booking the four day cruise on Halloween :cool1: It will not be the same as the member cruise but at least we will get to be on the Wonder one last time before it gets repositioned. So I will cheer you all on as you prepare for this cruise and you can be my cheering crew for October (since my DH doesn't share my obsession for Disney).

I love the current tv show discussion. My favorites are Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, and Glee.

You are right and thank goodness your reasons weren't truly unfortunate ones. Ok, now I am looking forward to your trip report! I love Halloween and will be in WDW for MNSSHP. I am sure a Halloween cruise has got to be very cool :cool2:

I like Private Practice & Grey's Anatomy too but, I have not been keeping up with the shows. I have like 10 of them on my DVR. I have been too busy keeping up with Lost. The season finale for Grey's looks very interesting.

I use to watch House but I stopped. How many medical mysteries can one man solve.

The last book I read was Push a novel by Sapphire. the movie Precious was based on this novel.

Lost is the one show that I do keep up with so I did see last night's episode. This is the one series that I have kept up with. It keeps me guessing.

I'm watching Modern Family now.

I live in Southern MD which is about 1 1/2 from Northern VA. A DC/MD DIS meet would be fun.

You have to come back and tell us about the Halloween cruise.

Mickeyphile - Sorry to hear you won't be joining us on the cruise. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family and create lots of fun memories!! Hopefully we'll see you on next year's member cruise! :thumbsup2

My son's little league team won their first game tonight! WOO-HOO!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I saw the movie. Incredible acting! The book is on my list of titles I'd like to read this summer.

I have not seen the movie yet. I wanted to read the book first. Plus, I did not have time to go to the movies. I cannot remember the last time I have been to the movie theater. DH, on the other hand, went to see Iron Man last Friday.

WOO HOO!!!!! Congratulations!!!

OMG!!! I actually know what that means :woohoo: This coming from the girl that correctly answered "Yogi Berra" on a Trivial Pursuit question while discussing the question aloud with my team mates (girls vs guys) talking about "that football dude that won a Heisman something or other" the entire time :lmao: much to DH's and the other guys' disgust :rotfl: And yes, that was for a pie and the girls won the game! :cool1:
