Good morning!! You guys really got chatty over the last couple of days! I've been so busy, haven't had a lot of time to get online lately. I keep telling myself that one of these days life is going to slow down, but it just keeps getting more and more hectic! :goodvibes

I hope you're all having a great week. The weather here is BEAUTIFUL!!! We're going to hit 80's today, but then Saturday's high is only in the 50's. That's ok, thought, Summer is on it's way!!!!!

I'm so glad I found this thread, we are so excited for our first member cruise.:cool1:
Marsha I' ve read through your trip report from last year's cruise and it sounds like you had a wonderful time. I thank everyone who writes TR, it's so nice because you are suddenly transported there.
I have a question, do many peope take part in the FE? I think I mentioned while we were on the New Years cruise no one else participated in this. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. I am reading the FE thread and have only made it to page 20 so far.:)
If anyone would care to hand out any tips for this cruise like what is a not to miss event I would love to hear about it.:yay:
Thanks

Lynn - I'm glad you found this thread, too! I like to think that we have a great group of people on here and I can't wait to meet everyone in person.

As for the fish extender exchange: right now we have 18 families signed up (including you). I've been told that there have been approximately 30 families included on previous DVC Member Cruises.

I'm not much of a help on what the must do's are on a member cruise. I can tell you the general must do's on DCL...go see the shows (Dreams, Toy Story, Golden Mickeys, etc.) They are excellent! Go see a movie in the movie theatre...they run newly released movies. We saw Bolt on our last cruise. Brunch at Palo is a MUST DO!!!! We enjoyed the brunch more than the dinner there and then you don't have to miss any main dining rotation dinners. The most important thing to do is relax and have fun!! :goodvibes

Hi Marsha,

Need to change staying after cruise spot, I guess we are staying at WLV and are wait listed for BLT.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather like we are in Indiana :rotfl:

I am LOVING this 80 degree weather we are getting in Indiana!!! :yay: YAY!!!!!! But, unfortunately it's not going to last...they're only calling for 50's this weekend.

Can anyone tell me what D23 is ? Thanks

:wave2: I can!!! I can!!!!

Some people will tell you that D23 is another ploy by the Disney company to get you to part with yet more money on all things Disney :rolleyes1 No, seriously, D23 is the official Disney membership fan club that is run by Disney. There are 2 levels of membership, gold and silver. DH and I are Gold charter members. Ian, who is cruising with us, is also a gold level member. Hi Ian

The Gold level membership entitles you to receive their quarterly magazine and purchase member only merchandise and tickets to member events. The silver level membership entitles you to be eligible to purchase tickets to attend special member events and purchase member only merchandise, but no quarterly. The magazine is really nicely done! Most events are held either in or near Disneyland or Walt Disney World. The events allow you to participate in some pretty cool private or behind the scenes type stuff that is put together exclusively for the members. The D23 Expo which was held last year in California was a 4 day event that was awesome. This one was also open to non members but non members paid higher for their tickets and than members and members could enter an hour earlier than non members which was crucial for some of the activities last year. The other events held throughout the year are only available to members and a limited amount of member guests (usually 3).

To sum it up...if you love chatting with imagineers :chat: about their newest projects, attending presentations given by Disney :mic: finding out what Disney's planning before everyone else does :listen: and love going behind the scenes :magnify: and really get a kick out of special events planned just for people like you :cheer2: are a die hard, love all things, live and breathe Disney :worship: then this is the membership for you!

Terrie (yes, I drank the Kool Aid and I'll have some more with a dole whip on the side please)

Ian - I was at MK today and they did not have the DVC pin. I also checked DTD - didn't know if they were park exclusive but figured I would ask - no luck - we will be back to DHS on Fri and I will check there.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, NICE AND SUNNY HERE NOW TO GO OUT :rotfl2: CHRIS WE NOTICED IN THE PAPER HERE THAT THE WORLDS LARGEST GARDEN KNOME WAS IN IOWA SO I THOUGHT OF YOU AND MAYBE THE 2 OF YOU MADE SOME HUGE MICKEY KNOME:rotfl2: THEN I SAW PHOTO OF IT. HAVE YOU SEEN IT?

Hey Ian! Glad you are having nice weather again. We are too and I'm loving it! Bob is trying to get the pool heated up with the solar panels since it has been so nice out. It is working on it but I bet the propane heater will assist with the warming process pretty soon. He loves his pool!

And no, I guess we missed the knome thing. Didn't hear anything about it. But he does want to get one of the Mickey Knomes that we saw at EPCOT when we were there in March. And lucky for us we will be returning over Mother's Day for the weekend and I bet he will get one if they are still available. But don't tell anyone we are going back again. I hate to say but that will make our third trip so far this year with at least two more to come. Can you tell we love our Disney!

But our main reason for going in May is to visit our friends that live down in Sebastian. They are such fun and we haven't seen them since last November. We will only be staying one night at SSR before heading home. But that is ok, we need a quick SSR fix. And as of right now our next trip down will be for the members cruise. Then back again in November for Food & Wine Fest.

We are lucky that we both have a love of Disney and are able to go so often. If only we lived closer, it would make things a lot easier!

We did have a wonderful time on last year's member cruise. About 31 people participated in the FE exchange and it was so much fun. Every day we would come back to the room and there was something in our FE. I was surprised at how much stuff we got.

What not to miss depends on what you like. Definitely, the shows are not to miss. Plus, a lot will have to do with the special guests. And, don't miss our Dis meet. :)

Debbie, I agree with you on brunch at Palo. DH raved about watching UP! in the movie theatre. I am going to try my best to catch a movie on the next cruise.

Loving your TR so far. Wow! What a group of people you have with you. That is awesome. You are one brave person. I don't think I could handle that. I would just say "Everyone on your own. See ya at the pool sometime."

Hope you are having a great time and the weather is beautiful for you. Can't wait to read more of your trip. And aren't the topiaries (sp?) beautiful at EPCOT? Just amazing!

Calypso726-thank you for answering my question. You are always learning something Disney-it's also fun finding different sites-then forgetting where it was DUH !!!! Thanks again
Vicki

THIS WILL BE OUR 4th MEMBER CRUISE. WE ALWAYS HEAD TO THE ADULT BEACH ON THE 2 DAYS WE ARE ON THE ISLAND. I WILL STOP FOR THE GROUP SHOT WHILE LAURA HEADS OVER TO SERENITY BAY TO GET US A CHAIR WITH UMBRELLA. MORE PEOPLE GO OVER THERE ON MEMBER CRUISES THAN REGULAR DISNEY CRUISES. THERE ARE LESS KIDS ON MEMBER CRUISES. EVERY YEAR WE DO THE SAME THING GO RELAX HAVE OUR DRINKS BY THE WATER AND PUT ON OUR GOGGLES AND GO TO OUR SPOT TO WATCH THE FISH. I DONT KNOW HOW MANY DISNEY CRUISES YOUVE BEEN ON THAT MIGHT DETERMINE THE WHAT NOT TO MISS. IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN ON ANY DISNEY CRUISES THEN YOUR IN FOR A REAL TREAT. THE MEMBER CRUISES ARE EVEN MORE SPECIAL. BRING EMPTY BAG :rotfl2: YOU WILL NEED IT. WE THOUGHT LAST YEARS CRUISE THE GUESTS WERENT AS GOOD AS THE YEAR BEFORE BUT STILL WE ENJOYED EVERYTHING. I TEASED THEM A BIT BY CALLING IT THE INSPIRATION CRUISE AGAIN. USED SAME SAME AS PREVIOUS YEAR. DONT FORGET YOUR PIRATE OUTFIT:cool1: WELL OFF TO BED MORE YARD WORK TOMORROW AND SOON WILL BE TAKING COVER OFF POOL.

Good Evening everyone! The weather was beautiful today - another sunny day. Too bad I spent most of the day inside but I certainly enjoyed the weather while I was outside.

Marsha - same here....we had another sunny 84 degree day!!! But, I was stuck inside working all day in a building that has windows that don't open. Then I had to leave 10 minutes early because DD-6 fell off the monkey bars on the playground and hurt her back and wouldn't stop crying. So, I've been stuck inside most of the evening, too, because she won't do anything. I think she's ok, just a bit shaken up by the fall. And she's VERY dramatic when it comes to injuries!

The temperature here is supposed to drop back into the 50's for the next few days. But, that's ok....then I won't feel so bad when I"m stuck inside cleaning house and catching up on laundry. :upsidedow And then, of course, DD will be begging to go outside and play.

Well, I hope everyone has a great evening!!

I hope your DD feels better. I am sure the fall shook her up.

The temps here are supposed to drop too. Of course, it is when I would be able to spend some time outdoors.
