09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #1

Good morning everyone! Happy Tuesday! We're supposed to hit mid to upper 70's this week! I'm so sick of the 30's and 40's. 70's is going to be soooooo nice!!! The sun is shining so bright today! I think DD and I are going to make some Easter wreaths today (I got them at Michael's). We'll make one for my mom and one for my mother in law. Then maybe we'll go to the park! I'm off until Thursday when I start back at my old job.

Oh yeah, I couldn't keep my job at the Disney Store. Since I got my old job back and I'll be working 8-5 (instead of 8:30-4:30), they didn't like that I couldn't start work at 5:00 during the week. So, that was causing a lot of issues. And since I got my good job back, I don't need a part time job anymore. Too bad, I was looking forward to working at the Disney Store! That's ok, though, I could see that job "robbing" my Summer from me.

Sounds like you have a fun day planned. And isn't the weather just great? I'm so glad it has finally turned around.

Too bad about your Disney job. But then again you are back full time and that will be better for you and your family I'm sure.

Marsha - you're exactly right....going back to my old full time job instead of working a crappy full time job and a part time job in retail is MUCH better for my family! I just hope the ladies at the Disney Store understand that....I still want to shop there and I don't want any hard feelings!!

Ian - so is this Timmies place sort of like a McDonald's? Have fun working in your garden in the sunshine!!!

I'm gonna go make some pancakes and then see where the day takes us...crafts, games, park! I wish I could be a stay at home mom. OR work from home!

CANADIANS LINE UP ALMOST INTO THE STREET IN OUR CARS TO GO THRU THE DRIVE THRU TO GET OUR MORNING COFFEE. ITS LIKE DUNKIN DONUTS BUT BIGGER WHEN WE USED TO DRIVE DOWN INTO THE STATES WE ALWAYS MISSED OUR TIMMIES DONUT DRIVE THRUs, NOW THERE ARE MORE AND MORE DONUT DRIVE THRUs IN THE US.
I pUlL uP AND ORDER MY LARGE DOUBLE DOUBLE I CAN TELL YOU HOW IT STARTED. OVER 40 YEARS AGO IF YOUR FAMILIAR WITH HOCKEY, THERE WAS A HOCKEY PLAYER NAMED TIM HORTON. HE PLAYED DEFENCE FOR THE TORONTO MAPLELEAFS AND BUFFALO SABRES. HE STARTED A DONUT SHOP BUSINESS NOT FAR FROM WHERE WE LIVE HERE. A COUPLE YEARS LATER HE WAS KILLED IN A CAR CRASH RIGHT HERE IN ST CATHARINES, MY FRIEND AND I WERE THERE WHEN HE CAME DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND THE PANTERA HE WAS DRIVING FLIPPED CAUGHT FIRE . THe dONUT CHAINED HAS KEPT EXPANDING unTIL IT HAS BECOME LIKE A NATIONAL TRADITION UP HERE IN CANADA. WE HAVE THE MAPLE LEAF, BEAVER, MOOSE, MOUNTIE AND TIMMIES.

Wow! Where has everyone been?! So, DD and I made our Easter Egg wreaths today...it was fun! We met my mom for lunch and then we went to the park. She saw a friend from her daycare there, so they had fun playing together!

I had my photography class tonight. We had to turn in some pictures of different textures. So, naturally, I chose a picture from a previous DCL cruise. More specifically, a picture of the carpet with the red/blue anchor. I was hoping they would ask for explanations on the pictures so I could share some of my DCL knowledge, but no such luck. Everyone else turned in pictures of flowers and trees, I turned in a picture of carpet and my son's baseball shoes and glove. He said texture...I didn't know exactly what he meant! I'll know for next time, though!!

Well, I hope everything is ok with everyone....this thread has been pretty quiet the last couple of days.

Good Morning! It is hump day. The only thing though, I want the weekend to get here but then it is over with in a flash and back to work I go. Blech. I'm just getting tired of the job I guess. Need another vacation!

I have been trying to not be on the computer so much while at home. I used to be camped out on it every night and all weekend. So, I have been checking here in the mornings before work to try to limit my time. But, this Dis is so addicting. I love it!

Last night when I watched the news they said we were warmer here than it was down in Florida yesterday. What is going on with the crazy weather down there. But I'm sure it was still nice because I bet they didn't have the wind like we had here.

So, today was the most beautiful day we've had this year. It was mid 70's and windy, but the wind wasn't cold. So, I took DD for a walk and as I was walking down the sidewalk, I closed my eyes for a few seconds and imagined that I was walking on deck 10 on the ship! Now THAT'S what I call a daydream!!!

Yeah Wanted to do it this summer when out of school but doc said nope. Anyway be back asap. I am also an april birhtday the 29th. I will be checking in but typing is a no no for a bit but might sneak in a post or two.

Michael and I are grandparents!!!!!!

Our granddaughter was born on Sunday afternoon. We are thrilled. Mom, Dad (our son) and baby are doing just fine. Going to Baltimore to visit this weekend.

Going to be in the 70's here in Southern Delaware. The sun is out...I just love days like this. The rain has been pretty bad for some here...the flooding is just awful. We don't need anymore rain right now...let the sun shine!!!!

I can't believe we cruise in 24 weeks...so exciting.
