Ok my head is spinning from trying to catch up with all the posts. I will re-read again this weekend to get all the dinner lineups.
I wrote a few months back about one of my students that was killed in afgan. I found out Tuesday that another student of mine was killed in afgan. Monday. I did not recognize his name initially and his picture in the paper was of a stong handsome Marine that I did not recognize. I went to the yearbook of his senior year 07 and when I put his face from HS with his name I felt like someone hit me in the face with a brick. This young man made a huge change from a tall chubby kid to a proud Marine. I would ask again that whether you support our political agenda or not you continue to thank and support the men and women that protect the rights that a lot of Americans take for granted.
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR STUDENT, BEING CANADIAN I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE KIDS STATIONED OVER THERE. WHEN ONE IS KILLED, THEY ARE USUALLY FLOWN TO TRENTON ONTARIO AND ESCORTED DOWN THE HIGHWAY OF HEROS, THATS THE 401 THAT RUNS FROM QUEBEC BORDER THRU TORONTO. ITS AMAZING ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LINE THE HIGHWAY AND OVERPASSES AND ALL THE CANADIAN FLAGS PRESENT AS THE MOTORCADE OF THE FALLEN SOLDIER GOES BY. WE HAVE LOST A FEW HERE IN THE NIAGARA REGION. MY FRIEnDS SON JUST WENT BACK FOR ANOTHER TOUR. ITS VERY STRESSFUL.
