Wow, just what I needed. My grand daughter is sick and we are keeping her so there are lots of tears and "hold me". My husband had surgery today so a crying baby in the hospital is a treat in itself and then when I got home with my menagerie there waiting at the Disboards were pictures of the cruise..... aahhhhh..... just what I needed... a mental vacation....dreaming of the real one. THANKS!!

Ok, so I have a question that I was hoping some of our DVC cruise veterans could offer insight into. I have read on the DIS in the past about people having opportunities for pre-booking the following year's DVC member cruise while on the current year's DVC member cruise. Can anyone offer details? :confused3

Thanks for sharing!
Terrie :)

Chris was able to book this years cruise on last year's cruise. If you add on a certain amount of points, then one of the incentives that DVC has offered is a sopt on the next year's cruise. I believe that is the only way you can do it. I don't remember how many points you needed to add on.

MARSHA, MARSHA, MARSHA, GREAT PHOTOS of FOOD AT PALOS. MADE ME GO LOOK TO SEE WHEN WE CAN BOOK OUR BRUNCH. WE CAN BOOK MAY 30th for PALOS.
Can you book Palos brunch for any of the 3 days Mon Tue or Wed.? I would rather book the brunch for day at sea. Want as much time to relax with my Bahama Mama Drink on the beach at Serenity Bay!!!:rotfl2:

Oh Marsha i had to show Laura(dw) your food photos at Palos. I had to show her there is someone else like me for taking photos of everything Disney!!!:cool1: THANK YOU FOR THE PHOTOS!!!!!
And, now that I have a new camera, I will be taking more pictures of food, the ship, people, you name it. If it can be photographed, then I will be taking its picture. So, watch out for the woman with the camera.

Palo brunch is only offered on sea days. From the DCL website:
Brunch

Brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. to noon while the ship is out at sea during Disney 4-Night and longer cruises. During visits to Key West, brunch is served from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Check the Personal Navigator—the Disney Cruise Line daily newsletter detailing all there is to see and do—for specific dates and times while onboard.

Palo continues its commitment to fine Italian dining, offering a varied selection of classic favorites with a contemporary twist.

Although subject to change, brunch offerings may include:

A Selection of Baked Breads and Pastries
Grilled Marinated Vegetables
Alaska King Crab Legs
Homemade Pizzas
Smoked Salmon and Mixed Greens
Freshly-made Pancakes
Tiramisu
Lemon Meringue Pie
Champagne, along with specialty drinks like Mimosas and delicious ice-cream blended smoothies, can be purchased for an additional cost.

:goodvibes Hi everyone!!!

Hate to say but I'm not glad to be back home. After spending last weekend in Florida with 80 degree weather and coming back to Iowa with rain and temps in the 50's. :scared: It is really crappy!

Disney was great! Low crowds, great weather, great company. . . what more could you ask for. We were only at Disney for a day and a half but it was well worth it. We flew down late last Friday and went to our friends house down in Sebastian on Saturday and spent the day hanging with them at the ocean and their house. All I have to say is that it was a gorgeous day to be at the ocean.

Then Sunday we got up early and went up to the Boardwalk. Wow, love that resort. The only thing was our room was the very last room on the 4th floor right next to Jelly Rolls. Room 4001. We had a one bedroom and it was great! What a view of EPCOT.

Then we got up Monday and made a quick trip to Hollywood Studios then had to head home. Wish we could have stayed another day but we had to come home to the kiddos.

Well, need to go catch up with what's going on. Have a great day! :flower3:

Thanks, Terrie! (I learned from the best) :lmao:

Thanks for the info on Palo brunch Marsha! I loved the food pics, yummmm. Ok here's a question. I understand there are 3 restaurants and we rotate each night to a different one, therefore one gets repeated :confused3 How do we find out which night is our repeat resatuarant and do we choose which one to repeat at or is it randomly assigned? I would love to try to schedule Palo for dinner but I don't want to miss out on any of the restaurants and would like to schedule it on a repeat night. DOes that makes sense or does dining work differently than I am imagining. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Aawwww! Sierra has such a sweet face! Thank you Ian for sharing her picture! Ok, if we are sharing doggie pics, here is Disney on his 10th B-day party.

Once you check in at port, you will be given your Key to the World (KTTW) card. On it will be the sailing dates. The ship you are on - Disney Wonder of course, your name, and whether you are a Castaway Club Member. It will also include your dining rotation. On my card last year was:

F1-TAAP Table:61
That meant I was in first/main/early dining. I would be dining at Triton's, Animator's Palate, Animator's Palate, and Parrot Cay. I would be sitting at Table 61.

Now, since this is a 4 day cruise, you will have a different menu every night since one night is Pirate's night where you would dine in that same restaurant twice. So, I experience Animator's Palate for Pirate's night and the AP for their regular menu.

TIP: If you have linked dining, make sure all of your KTTW cards have the same dining rotation and same table #. If they do not, you can request to have it changed before dinner. Your navigator will tell you where you can go to have this changed. Do not wait until your dinnertime.

Problem You want to experience Palo Dinner & all the restaurants.

Solution: If you have main dining you could go to that restaurant and make a late reservation (9:00 p.m.) at Palo. If you have late dining you could have an early reservation at Palo (6:00 p.m.). Or, just rebook onboard for a longer cruise so you can experience everything. :rotfl2:

Here is a Palo dinner menu from the DCL website:
Dress Code

At dinner, a dress shirt or jacket is required to be worn for men and a dress or pantsuit is required to be worn by women. No jeans allowed. At brunch, attire is cruise casual, meaning no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops.

Dinner

Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. nightly; the final reservation time is 9:00 p.m.

Palo offers the finest in fine Northern Italian dining, serving a varied selection of tantalizing favorites with a mouth-watering contemporary twist.

Although subject to change, dinnertime menu items may include:

Appetizers/Soups & Salads:

Sicilian Pesto Marinated Shrimp Salad
Grilled Portobello Mushroom and Polenta with a Roasted Shallot Sauce
Main Courses:

Lobster and Mascarpone Ravioli
Risotto di Mare
Pumpkin and Broccoli with Shrimp and Grappa Sauce
Penne Arrabbiata
Chicken Braciola
Garlic Roasted Rack of Lamb

I have another tip to add about dining rotations and Palo:

If you have Animators Palate on your dining rotation twice, Do NOT...I repeat DO NOT miss your first night in Animators Palate!!! If you have made advanced dining reservations at Palo and it happens to be on your first night scheduled in Animators Palate, try to switch Palo OR try to get your dining rotation switched. You DO NOT want to miss the first night in Animators Palate because they do not do the cool show on your second night in Animators Palate.

Thank you so much for explaining Marsha! It looks like we will try to book a brunch at Palo. I don't want to miss any of the regular menus since it is our first cruise and there is simply NO way I am giving up any part of Pirate night pirate: arrrrrgh! I guess we will just have to take another Disney cruise

Terrie :)

Ian - is there also a Miniature Daschund (up by the pillows) in that picture of Sierra?

Terrie - Disney looks like he's enjoying his birthday party! That's too cute!!! (I love your china hutch....I've always wanted one but we've never had a big enough dining room for one!)

250 points!!!! :scared1: Holy Guacamole! That's :teacher: a whole lot of points and a whole lot of Disney Dollars  Boy, I thought I was doing good by mentioning "incentives and what not during crusies" and now DH is contemplating adding on during the crusie :woohoo: There is no way he will go for 250 :sad2: I showed him pics of the new ship the Dream and told him next year's DVC member crusie will be on the new ship. He actually said we should go  We figured we'd use all of the Disney Visa reward dollars we've accumulated to help pay for next year's cruise. I checked with member services and they said you can pay with the reward dollars! I thought, heck if we wind up adding on, maybe we can pre-book for next year. Ah well, I know 250 is out. Hey, Ian, when you meet Wally (my DH) please feel free to tell him how much you have been enjoying your added points, maybe the idea of doing 250 points will rub off on him :rotfl2:

Thank you! He loved his party and having a bunch of dog show people he knows come over. Everyone brought him presents which I did not expect and it was so cute! He got so excited about opening up his presents and getting new toys!

Thank you! I no longer have the china hutch though. I decided to redecorate and sold everything we own on Craigslist :rotfl: Now the dining room and living room are decorated "safari" inspired by my love for AKV :yay: and I put an amoire in the dining room that got turned into a bar :rolleyes1 I'll share pics if anyone really wants to see
