09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

Michele,

Diehard NASCAR fan here, sorry for the length of time to reply to your message. I have left the warm confines of Orlando and am visiting my family (brother is DNJLAW777) and mother in frigid Ohio.

Disney owns ABC, which owns ESPN right? How many races are left on ESPN? Perhaps the race will be on the jumbotron (the screen wehre they show MUTS). One can only hope.

Can you figure out which driver I root for by looking at my name?

Hope all is well-
Hey...frigid Ohio! Are you crazy! I just commented yesterday how it feels like Florida around here lately! HUMIDITY IS A KILLER! We've been in the nineties temperature-wise, and with the heat index, closer to 100! Thank God for air-conditioning and my pool! I know how hot Florida is in August...went to WDW in August...I remember being wiped out by 1:00 p.m. We would have to go back to the hotel and vegg for a few hours. Craziness! Now, visit Ohio (especially up by Cleveland) around January/February...THEN you can call us frigid Ohio!

By the way Diser's...we are officially under a month....29 more days!!!:goodvibes

Just wanted to post that. :cutie:

I remember the days of snow, delivering the Plain Dealer (and the Press). Thanks but no thanks, the snow can come and go without me. Snow is the big reason that I live in Orlando.

Humidity, what humidity?

Hope all is well -

WAHHHHH!!! NO Whiners on this board!!! If you don't like the weather stay away!!!

gotta go tornado here! seriously

well i can say as a new englander... we don't whine about weather, we just talk about it INCESSANTLY! it's like we're obsessed with it even though the 4 seasons are no big surprise. :rotfl2: i think it will be interesting when i move to tampa, i'll have to refrain myself from discussing the weather!

The saying here in the midwest is: IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WEATHER JUST WAIT AWHILE IT WILL CHANGE. And in fact it does. If I had work I won't mind living closer to the mouse. But I just don't see that happening. Tomorrow I am at 22 days and counting!!!!

Today there are a bunch of cat 11's available.:confused3

Just wish they'd assign the guarantees already lol.

Bill

We've had a room since I made the ressies. Our regular room "area" on deck 5. Just one of the lucky ones.
I just checked with DCL and they are in the process of doing rooms. CM said that they will also be doing room assignments on the day of sailing at the port.
Hope that helps someone.

Ann

well, i'm a cat 12, so no matter what happens i can only go UP from there! :thumbsup2 at my '05 cruise we were upgraded several weeks before sailing to an 11. not much of a change in room quality but it was on deck 6 center which was certainly a great location. our traveling companions have an assigned room on deck 2 already, so that is most likely where we will be.

now, all we have is :hourglass

waiting waiting waiting for the cruise!

Hello all..
SOON TO SET SAIL...DISNEY SAIL...
I am attempting to at a pic of my DP and myself.
See ya all soon...
IN DAYS

We're in a 12 too. As long as we get on the ship the rest is gravy! We got upgraded to a cat 11 handicap room last year. No sofa and big bathroom.

Well, DNJLAW wasn't kidding...a tornado touched down in northern Ohio today. Not a major one...but it looked really wicked on the news! Did some damage to trees and telephone poles, which ended up blocking I-71 in Medina county (a major interstate) with downed trees and debris. A couple telephone poles ended up on some cars. The rest were just wicked winds with severe thunderstorms. :scared: But we are all okay!!!! :yay:

In lighter news, we are also booked in a cat 12. So I agree with everyone else; any upgrade is a plus! :cheer2: As long as our room sleeps 4, has a bathroom, and a television (for the girls), then I'm happy. We were booked in a cat 11 last time and it was very nice. We don't spend that much time in the cabin anyway. :cutie: :upsidedow

Almost 28 now...days that is....:hourglass

Well at least you know you'll at least be in a cat 11 cabin. No different than a 12 I think except for location.

Bill

MammaKoss, glad you are ok and unharmed by the tornado. That's scary stuff.

There's not much difference between 11 & 12 rooms, just location basically. To be honest we couldn't afford to Disney cruise if we didn't book cat 12. I'm the same way at WDW. I'd rather stay in the cheapest room at a deluxe hotel. We've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge twice, booked the cheapest standard room and been upgraded for free twice. (Once to pool view and once to savanna view, that's over a $300 a night value!)

The Tornado touched down about 15 miles or so south of us (we live in Brunswick) too close for my comfort. But thankfully, we are all well and good. My DD 4 and I even went to the grocery store to pick up a few things later in the evening, and on our way back OUT to the car she got a worried look and asked "Daddy! Where's the tornado at?????" Cute! She was glad to hear that it wa long gone.

My ticker says 27 days and 4 hours till our plane leaves, we are really getting excited here at THIS lawrence househould. Both kids are super ecited and my DS 2 when asked who we are going to see on the boat, replies with all the characters!!! He is a pretty good talker for being only 2 and 2 months.

Glad to hear all is well in your neck of the woods. That's some scary stuff!

Stina,
We're the same way. I was going to try to get the AKL for the 1 night pre cruise but can't spend that much money for 1 night. Turns out it's closed for construction now anyway.

We are going to Disney World next summer and rented a 4 bedroom house with a pool, game room with pool table, foosball, and air hockey, and a Disney themed bedroom for my grandson for $900 for the week.

Bill

sorry about that folks, my tornado comment was meant to be directed to DnJLaw777! i somehow got confused there. :confused3 must be because i have CRUISE FEVER!!! :woohoo:

so bill, animal kingdom lodge is completely closed right now? even the restaurants?

Man... So glad to know thay all of you are fine!:thumbsup2 That must have been scarry!!!!!:scared1:
We have the HEAT and the Monsoons. I should be very thankful for that!
Heat... stay in the house and for the monsoons... be prepared for no electricity and LOTS of rain, wind and flash floods!

Ann :grouphug:

Well, I used to think that we don't have to worry about tornados living in NYC. Well. I guess it's time to change my thinking! An f-2 touched down in Brooklyn Wednesday morning (about 10 miles from us) A lot of roofs blown off along with the side of a house. If a tornado ever scoops me up, I hope it deposits me at Port Canaveral & not Kansas.
See all "youse guys" in 25 days!

Chris
