What is a GTY? Just Curious what that means.

It means that they have a Gauarantee of a stateroom Catatory but have not been told what stateroom they will be in. This is most often Cat 12. They oversell this Catatory and some folk get upgraded when they get their room assignment. For me I prefer to know where I am going to be. Hope this helps. Lois

Where area of Orlando are you in? We live in Lake Nona

Hope all is well-

Hi!

We are in Kissimmee almost to St Cloud. We have been here for about 10 years but started out east in Waterford Lakes. When my daughter graduated I wanted to be closer to work and not have to drive I-4 every day.

Looking forward to meeting a fellow Orlandoian...Orlandoite...whatever!

Just found this link with all kinds of Disney graphics and door signs.

I just used one for our sign as some of them are much better than my creations.

Hi Bill.....

I thought perhaps you fell off the edge of the world! Glad to see you're safe!

BTW... the pic is really cool. DH is doing several for our door too.

Hey Jenn and Lois,
Thanks for answering the GTY question. I had been wondering that for a while now. We have been assigned our room from the begining so I guess I assumed everyone had their assignments as well. Thats a cool way to book though getting a GTY, and what a great surprise it will be if you get that upgrade. Thanks again.

Tinkerbelltris how are we coming with the plans for Lunch and breakfast? Do we need to give DCL a final count or are we good to go? Since you had the contact with DCL can you post the details once again for our newcomer?

I got to go Twin Princesses will be here tomorrow and I have got to find the house or I may be disowned. Til then, Lois

Good morning, all! I justed to say, it's rainy and dreary here and it makes me SOOOOO want a day up on Deck 10 at the Quiet Cove, sipping a Yoman Special and listening to the sounds of steel drums......ahhhhhhhhh.......33 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do all! Things are getting pretty hectic in the Kossman household. We are getting ready for "back to school" and getting ready for the cruise! I prefer getting ready for the cruise!

I had to attend a coach development and virtus training course because I am coaching my DD12's volleyball team this year. What a waste of time! I spent the whole day Saturday (which in Cleveland was gorgeous!) in a building downtown hearing the same stuff repeated over and over and over again! BLAH! I need my pina colada and some steel drum music as well! Perhaps a good book, by the Quiet Cove pool....oh, sorry, I started daydreaming and drooling! :rotfl2:

BTW, welcome welcome to all the newcomers! I can't wait to meet everyone! The only problem is going to be remembering everybodies real names!

Well, 32 more days to go...they can't come fast enough. But, once 9/8/07 hits, I want it to slllllooooowwwww down. Those sevens days need to last me another three years worth of ahhhhhh!

:goodvibes

It is dreary and overcast here in western Mass. too. I have a photo of Seven Mile Beach on my desktop at work, so I can daydream. ;)

Can't believe we're almost to 30-day dance....for those of us not going to WDW pre-cruise.

Hope you are all doing well.

MJ, Sgt Slovak and Shoes99 families will be at the BCV and will be attending the HUGH pin trading convention to be held at Epcot 9/6 to 9/9. We of course will miss Sat and Sun, but Thurs will be busy with event check in and merchandise pick up. Friday will be full of pin trading events at the old millinium village at Epcot. This is a separate hard ticket event.

Anyone besides Janet and I doing WDW before this cruise?

we're doing a clam bake on disney property somewhere friday night before the cruise with the rest of our party of 8. can't remember the name of the resteraunt though.

That would be:
Cape May Cafe New England Clam Bake Dinner

Hello!

My husband and I are going on the Sept. 8th Western Cruise! This will be our first time ever on a cruise and we are thrilled! :cloud9: If you have any tips for us feel free to share!

Thx!

thirty two days to go!!:dance3: :yay: :yay: :yay: :dance3:

of course we're not packed, scheduled with excursions, etc, but    it's 32 days to go! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm sure there MUST be an appropriate Disney quote, but Sponge Bob chanting "I'm Ready. I'M Ready..." seems appropriate here!!!

As a first time DCL cruiser you have found the mother lode of information with this board. We've cruised several times and always find something interesting and helpful here. Try to randomly read through some of the posts to get a feel for things and maybe specifics will pop up.

Some personal thoughts are:
> pack an empty buffel bag/suitcase to carry home the "treasures" in.

>you can't "do it all" there's just too much to choose from

>get a Shutters package early and collect/swap out your favorite pictures. This saves you loads of time at the end of the cruise!

>when you get back onboard after Castaway Cay, PACK! If you have everything ready to go out before dinner you can better enjoy your last evening.

>Mickey Bars are great!

>room service is a good thing!!

>get the kids(??) to answer the wake-up call!

>try to see the stage shows - they do a great job.

> Have fun! You're on vacation!
