09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

Tink -

Feel free to make the final payment on ours as well. I just checked our package, final payment isn't due until the 25th of June. Not sure why the big difference in when payment is due?

Thoughts?

Hope all is well -

Our payment wasn't due till the 25th as well, I just got my bonus and if I didn't go ahead and pay it off it would burn a hole in my pocket! I would probley end up spending it on stuff I dont' need. Disney is kind of like and extra savings account sometimes! :rotfl:

So I can't book Palos at 90 days unless my cruise is paid in full? What kind of perk is that? By being a past guest I get the honor of paying my cruise off even earlier that first timers. Disney sure has a way of putting a spin on things.
I guess Palos just went out the window for us.

I asked earlier about what you guys were getting in the mail from Disney but never got a response. Seems like you guys got some kind of calendar of events letting you know when you can book things? Whatever it was I never got anything.

Oh well.

I hope everyone has a nice and safe holiday!:)

The first time we cruised this was not the case. You could book Palo at 90 days out regardless. But no worries, September cruises usually do not book up and we have never had a problem getting a Palo ressie even when we get onboard the ship. In fact, Sept 2005 we ate dinner at Palo 4 times. It was awesome. We just called them daily and they had availability and let us right in. We were flexible on times too, so that helped.

I haven't recieved anything from DCL :confused3 so cant help ya there!

Okay, so I was talking with my Mom, and my daughter just brought this up as well. My Mom doesn't remember seeing "all" of the characters on the boat, "Daisy" was the one in question, but now i am worried that my daughter, and son to a lesser degree, will not be able to see all of their frinds that they see on the tube. Can a vetran parent cruiser please let me know who is on the baot so i can pass this information along to my adorable daughter? This is the same litte girl that some of you may have sen on good maortning america on June6th 2006 with Charlie Gibson,

<~~~Not the protective parent!!:happytv:

My younger brother, always ask big brother before asking Mom. There are plenty of characters on board. Mucho Princesses (lined up even). The fab 5 - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Captain Hook as well as his cohort. Daisy is on board, Chip and Dale.... The list goes on.

1 morning we are assigned a character breakfast, the characters will be there, come to our table like they did at the Magic Kingdom. I think Mom must have been to enthralled with the food to notice. Ask to look at her pictures, she should have a ton with characters.

Hope all is well

I am pretty sure i said something about asking a parent way way above in this question? I know you have been on D, but i was asking a Parent, as I KNOW they pay a little more attention with the kids...

abracadabra, alakzee, my account is now empty as I pay Disney!!

Speak of the devil. I just got my Disney stuff today. Read the intro sheet and gave the rest to my wife without looking at it.

It says:
June 10, 2007 - This is the date you can start booking shore excursions, spa, and Palo reservations and even babysitting if your final payment has been made.

I will not give them the money 2 weeks early for the privledge of booking their excursions, spa, and Palo reservations.

I'm sure you all think I'm nuts.;)

Bill

Bill-

I don't think your nuts. I am in a quandry myself. Same situation, trying to weigh if I want to give them the money 2 weeks early.

I guess I have 2 weeks to figure it out.

Hope all is well-

Bill-
I don't think you are crazy either. Its your choice, after all. As I said before in previous years we have had no problem doing things we wanted. I don't really understand why the money is not due the same day you can book excursions. Makes very little sense to me. Especially since its only a couple of weeks. Someone needs o rethink that one.

Since I'm leaving on another cruise 9 days before final payment I didn't want to give it to them until I came back.

It doesn't sit well with me that they put a spin on it like they are doing me a favor for being a past guest.

I am very stubborn in situations like this, often times to my own detriment.
When I was telling my wife about this she asked if I wanted to cancel. She knows me so well.:rotfl:

We will still be going and will take our chances with the Palos reservations. If we don't get them, which PrettyinTink says is unlikely, we'll still have a great time.:)

On a lighter note we saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 yesterday. We all agreed that #2 was the the best one. It was still good though. Took our grandson and he fell asleep.

Off to a barbecue and a few beers.:woohoo:

Take care and be safe. :)

Bill

Bill... dont really worry about Palo ressies. People cancel them all the time on board. We've picked up a ressie the same night. Guests get busy and cancel at the last minute. I can almost bet you that you can get a date the first day on the ship.

Disney has had our $$$$ since 4 April 06. Castaway members get few perks.. and less if you're a shareholder.:headache: The only real perks we have with Disney is being annual passport holders. Back in the late 80's and early 90's we could stay at the Disneyland Hotel with our 3 kids and 3 of their friends for a 4 day weekend for under $300. for the rooms. Each person received a turn down, a box of candy per night and a stuffed charater each night too. Like my teenagers want them.
DCL could do somethings better for their returning guests. Granted they cant up grades us all, but they certinly can give our like: xx% off wine packages or xx% off spa packages or even toss us a bone as 1 free massage per stateroom. Discounts at the 3 shops ... discounts could be just about anywhere.
Man... Im being a pest! :cool1:

Thought I'd get back in the game here! I had a very busy 5 days in Florida, among the things we did were: see the new POTC and go to Typhoon Lagoon and Boma! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was to be back on Disney property. I don't have to explain to you guys that it makes me feel happy all over. :goodvibes TL was great, it was a little cool that day, so we felt a little chilly doing Castaway Creek, especially in those waterfall and shooting water parts where they shoot cold water at you! But other than that it was good, had a drink at the bar, chilled in the Creek, it was a blast. We followed that up with a 6:40pm dinner at Boma and while I would describe the atmosphere there as bustling it was surprisingly not full. Great choices, especially some killer soups, however I missed my CocoMisu! They didn't have it!!! But just being at the Lodge and smelling that oh so special Lodge smell makes me happy. While I am excited to be going on the cruise, I am sad that I won't see the Lodge again until 2008. (We alternate cruise & wdw for our one trip of the year)

Yesterday we did a canoeing expedition out by Tampa, it was like 12 miles and frankly I'm relieved to have survived it! It was really strenuous and brought back all those insane memories of our 2005 cruise "Back to Nature Kayak tour" which I swore I'd never do again! The canoes were slightly easier to paddle than kayaks, but the river was low and we ran into a lot of rocks and had to get out and push the canoe (not fun) and every member of our party capsized at some point. So it was interesting to say the least. Looking forward to cruising and some more relaxed activities!

Of course I had to check out new merch at TL and noticed some new Disney apparel that wasn't available last September when I was there... did you guys know that they have Disney Crocs? This may be old news to some of you, but I was delighted! They have little mickey heads on the feet where normal crocs holes are. And they are made by the Crocs company. Very cute. You can buy them slightly cheaper online at www.crocs.com ($34.99 vs. WDW's $39.99) I also just figured out that you can buy Disney Jibbitz (crocs accessories) to pop on your crocs at www.jibbitz.com. However, I don't think the Disney accessories fit the Disney crocs, they just fit regular crocs.

They also have POTC Crocs as well. They have them for adults and kids.

Welcome back STina. Glad to hear you had lots of fun.

My fun consisted of getting my car smashed up and the driver taking off.

Not as much fun as you had but probably just as costly.:headache:
