09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

Hi Tonya,

Have you checked out the shore excurtions at the cruise site? Dont forget the "More to Do"... we found a great botanical garden to visit.

Ive been looking at all the excurtions for the Eastern and Western for Dayyyyyyyssssss! Im a bit confussed on all of them now:lmao:

You might want to read(long) back on this post and or on the next cruise going on the 22nd. There are some good suggestions.

You won't be board on the ship... too many things to do... or do nothing at all... popcorn::

I'm back from the surgery center. Everything went well. Now my left eye has a lense in it that only can see distance. Having a little trouble seeing the computer screen. On March 15th I'll have the other eye done, then I can get new glasses for reading the computer.
I have a little discomfort but I can see now with the left eye. Yippee.

That's good! I am glad all went well.

Well my dsis is going with me so we will be on the Sept 29 Eastern. Hope you all have a great time and keep the ship in good shape for me.

Also I was working on my cruise budget yesterday and found out that if you book the Dolphin Swim direct with Chankanaab that it also includes park admission. The one I am interested in is the Dolphin Adventure and snorkel. ($104 per adult) The dolphins actual pull you through the water and then you get to snorkel WITH them in a reef! How cool is THAT? Plus they have a refund policy in case your cruise ship is diverted from port in the event of bad weather. Pretty cool. http://www.cometocozumel.com/

stina,

Have you ever done a dolphin swim? If not, I'd highly recommend it! We did it in Ocho Rios three years ago and it was unbelievable. We 'danced' with the dolphins (bounced in a circle..and trust me, the dolphins were the picture of grace, while us humans were so out of sync); then the two dolphins swam up by you and pulled you around (super cool); we got to smooch the dolphin (great photo op!!!); and then the trainers had us float with our our out straight (think superman) and our feet flat (the dolphins came up and pushed our feet with their noses and we looked like we were flying!!).

So happy things went well! DH had the same surgery done many years ago... he now has a cute twinkle in his eyes all the time. I thought it was because of me!
Wrong... it's the edge of the lens:headache:
Good luck on the next surgery in a couple of weeks, we'll all be here cheering you on and sending you morepixiedust:

Hey Ginny,

Thanks for the review of your dolphin swim! I am definitely looking forward to it. We are planning on doing the excursion that includes swimming with them, being pulled by them and snorkeling with them in a reef. It sounds so incredible. I just love animals so I know I will love it.

Hi! I haven't posted a lot lately (craptop still in the dark hole that we call compusa) but I have a bit of cruise news: My Grandparents will be joining us on this cruise!!!!!! They have never cruised before and are super excited. When Kevin asked my Nanny to join us she cried. She said no one has ever done anything so kind. But my Nanny and Papa in my opinion are saints. They have worked their entire lives and given so much of themselves to others. I can't even explain how much these two people mean to me. I can't wait to see their faces the first time they see the Magic!!!!!!!

That is so cool PIT !:grouphug:
Great that you have such a good realationship with they the way you do!

Can't wait to meet them on the ship.

Thanks Ann! My Nanny and Papa represent everything I aspire to be. They give so selflessly of themselves that we thought it was time to give back.
My Nanny is the epitome of a southern belle. Born and raised in Montgomery Alabama, she has quite a few stories about the old south. Like the time she (to young to be driving legally at the time) ran her mothers car into a mans car as he was backing down the driveway. That man was a young pastor named Martin Luther King Jr. Instead of calling the police, he asked what she was in such a hurry for. She told him her mother was in the hospital in the TB isolation ward. He followed her to the hospital an prayed with my great grandmother. He later went on to change the world!
My grandfather retired from the Air Force after 25 years of service to our country including 3 tours in Vietnam (which he doesn't like to talk about much). One story that sends chills down my spine is the one where the officer came and knocked on my Nannys door on the base in the Phillipines. He said my Papas plane had been shot down over the jungle and everyone on board had perished. My Nanny refused to believe him and for 3 days as people came to console her and pay their respects she rocked in a rocking chair. A young GI came bursting through the door crying and shouting that my Papa was alive in the jungle at a medics camp. He had gotten sick just before the plane took off and avoided death. My Nanny must have just knew! :) They have that kind of connection. He takes her on picnic lunches in the park to fly kites. They really are the greatest people ever. I can not wait to share the DCL experience with them.
Anyone have any ideas on special things to do for them? We are surprising them with Palo reservations for the whole group. I also intend to pay their stateroom bill at the end of the cruise. Maybe buy their Shutters pictures too? Any and all ideas welcome!
(sorry so long we are stuck in Jersey for 2 days)

PIT, what an awesome story! Your grandparents sound like really incredible people. How wonderful that they are going to be enjoying their very first Disney cruise.

I'm trying to think of something special they might like. Palo definitely. Perhaps the Palo high tea as well? There are also special room decorations you can get. Last time my partner surprised me with the "Bon voyage" celebration, our cabin steward decorated our room with the cutest decorations and it came with a cake too! Are your grandparents too elderly for the spa? I know there are couples massages.

When I go on my disney trips I always buy those really cute Disney collage picture frames and make a collage of my trip. We have several of them hanging in a row in our hallway from all of our trips. That's another idea post-cruise, to make them a special framed picture collage of all the magical moments they had onboard!
