We will help with the lanyards and name tags..... :artist: :artist:

What is involved in getting lanyards and name tags? Can I assume that this is a cost that this passed down to those who want these items? It seems to me that it would be too expensive for any one person. Mouser

There is no cost involved, this will be one of the 'gifts' that we will give away. Kevin, Cyndi (PIT), Tina and I will give these away. Everyone on the roster (to come later) as well as every family member traveling with them will receive one. This is a great way to remember names and it helps identify other disboard members. If anyone wants to donate to help get them, that is welcomed but not nessecery (sp?) Just PM me (Kborn) or Cyndi (PIT)....

If this group is anything like our last cruise group, you will be amazed at what other 'gifts' will show up. I also see where you have been visiting next weeks cruise meet thread. I know Captcrash is going with you, he was on our last cruise and he will give out plenty of info. I know he told you about the fish extenders...my wife made ours for our last trip, and she may use it again. But she had so much fun making it, she may make another for this cruise. The first fish extender is hanging in our son's room.

There is never a cost for anything this disgroup will do, we do not want to turn anyone off from attending any meet. The only cost involved is up to you, that is your choice. Some people give gifts for fish extenders, on our last cruise, I went to the locale Disney Store and purchased all the clearence items. I told the manager what I was doing and she gave me another discount on top of the price marked. I also bought pirate coins at the locale party store, $2.99 for about 50 coins, and a 5 lb bag of candy for $4.99. The gifts are not big, but the kids love them.

A note to everyone, this is your vacation, dismeets are great, but time with family is important! There will be some that will attend more meets and there will be some that we will meet at the terminal and never see on the cruise. On our last cruise, there were more couples than families...I think there were only 104 kids on the WHOLE cruise, plus we were on a 11 day cruise. So we had alot planned. We will try and plan meets that the whole family can attend, i.e. (jammie Breakfast, linked dining, pre cruise dismeets, ice cream bar eating contest...) If I start rambling, just let me know... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well said Keith! By no means should anyone feel obligated to spend any money to attend any event planned. The lanyards and nametags and anything else given are just that: Gifts!
As for the Meet and Greet at SSR that we are hosting: Bring your whole family and enjoy! Kevin and I will be there all week long with our friends tom and Linda and my MIL and we will handle refreshments. Don't try to be there RIGHT on time either! We are on vacation! Just drop in to say Hi! and meet a few of your fellow cruisers! Stay as long as you want, good times! :goodvibes

Just checking in to say "HI"...how is everone's week going? It's been slow here at work :confused3 :confused3 Things should pick up around Thanksgiving and Christmas    Cyndi, is it snowing yet, I know there was a freak snow storm in Buffalo last week. I know how ya'll hate the driving conditions when it starts snowing in the Mtn. passes. Drive safe....Talk to everyone later.

O, BTW, has anyone noticed all the post on the Sept. 1 and Sept. 15 cruises.....I know Captcrash is on the Sept. 15th cruise, that's why there board is so active, but we need a little more chatter.....

I hope PIT and myself have not ran everyone off, this is supposed to be fun....

Hello everyone! Whew! We got stuck in Ft Bridger, Wyoming (Re: Middle of nowhere) by a FREAK snow storm. Ice and snow, other trucks in ditches EVERYWHERE! They closed I-80 in the WHOLE STATE OF WYOMING. Insane weather for this time of year. I hope this isn't a view into what winter will be like. This, my friends, is why I cruise :thumbsup2

Come on, you lurkers! Come out and play with us! KBorn (Keith) and I are patiently waiting for more people to converse with. Don't worry! We don't bite! Not hard anyway........ :lmao:

Glad you 2 R OK....you need to ask for a transfer, like Jacksonville FLA to say LA. That way you can stay in the southern states :cheer2: :cheer2:

Cyndi, I noticed your ticker, I can not believe it's been a month since we got off the Wonder....it's seems like yesterday :sad2: :sad2:

Hey, I see the Captn is up to his old tricks on the other board....he is already asking his survey questions :lmao: He's going to run out of stuff to talk about... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Not having been a part of these boards before I am learning. I really think the gift idea is neat. I bought the material tonight to try to make a fish extender. We are doing both the eastern and the western so we will get double duty out of it. I just hope I can find the time to make it. This will be our 5th and 6th cruise and I have the feeling that they are going to be the best yet. Looking forward to getting to know the others and just have a blast. Mouser

Good luck on the fish extender! I attempted to make my own and failed miserably. Another cruiser on our 11 day cruise made ours! And 92 others :lmao:

Wow you guys get organized FAST! :cool1: I look forward to more ideas for us all to meet on the cruise! These boards are great. My DH thinks I'm nuts with all the research I have done already. He is keeping mum however because I did the same for our WDW trip in 2003 and we had a great week! :cheer2:
We are flying into Florida on the Friday and probably going to rent a car and stay in Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach. Any suggestions on best place to stay? and best rental company to use?

This will be our 5th Disney cruise. DH turns 62 in 2007, so I was able to get the Senior Rate at the Airport Hyatt pre-cruise....$137.94 for one night. We will do the parks post cruise, and rent from Budget....

The Radison is a nice place and I think they have suttle that will bring you to the dock...we have stayed at the Best Western as well. The last couple of cruises, we stayed on Disney property and drove to the port that next day. It is only about 50 min. away plus you get a jump start on the Disney experince. Just going to downtown Disney is fun. Plus you should get better rates at one of the value resorts than anything close to the port. We paid $69.00 at the Pop Century. We also have a meet and greet planned at Saratoga Springs resort, that will be a great way to meet a few other 'disers' before we leave....

We always stay on park, but I hear the Radisson at port is very nice. We do move fast, having just got off of what I consider my GREATEST vacation ever! We had a lot of inspEARation from that group. Don't worry, My dh KNOWS I am a crazy planner. I'm already planning our 2008 NYC trip. Christmas 2008 :lmao: :lmao: I have officially gone insane :teeth: I believe that ANY good vacation needs a little structure to run smoothly. Our first WDW vacation as a family (dh, dd, and ds and I) I had itinerary for everyday written in a notepad we carried around the parks. We saw EVERYthing we wanted to see and had a BLAST! I'm so glad we didn't just wonder around without a plan. Ever since that trip, Kevin puts up with my OCD preplanning with a smile on his face knowing that we will see and do everything we want to see and do. :thumbsup2
Oh, and as for a car rental company, we always stick with Enterprise but that's just my dh's preference. :confused3
