09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

I wonder if DCL even knows yet. The first newbuild isn't due until 2010 or is 2011?
If they did hawaii wouldn't they have to be at least 10 day cruises if they went to Fanning Island or 14 days if they left from SF or Los Angeles?

I know my peasant butt couldn't afford a 10 or 14 day DCL cruise but I'm sure there are many out there that could.:)

Bill

The 2 new ships are due out in 2010 and 2012.

BTW.... I loved meeting all of you, and hope you had a great time as I did!

Ann

Hey I am just now begining to feel better. I wanted to let everyone know how much Janet and I enjoyed meeting all that we ran into. Thank you for all your support with the death of my sister. Stina hoping your move goes well and I have no question about the final outcome. Really wish it was me but I just too chicken to pack up and move like that.

It really is a small world and who knows when anyone of us might run into another. Here's to hoping. Lois

Ann,
Are your 3 weeks over already? Oh well back to cold Arizona.;)

If I send you my address can Howard send me a couple comp "Girls Gone Wild" dvds?:lmao:

Lois,

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. It's a long healing process, but gets better everyday. It was nice meeting you, Janet, Debbie, and the Twin Princess'.:)

Bill

Lois...I'll send you postcards of sunny skies so that in January you'll be losing some of your fear! :rotfl: If you are down in Florida anytime (distinct possibility!) give me a ring or drop me an email and we'll get together. :thumbsup2

We are looking at next September to cruise again. We will need to stay in touch never know how things will play out over time. I have been trying to slowly get rid of the junk so if I do move at some point I can just do it. Got some much more junk to get rid of before it is even possible. Oh well it will happen when it is to happen. I just need to be open to possibities. Lois

regarding getting rid of junk.... lois, do you know about freecycle.org? it's this awesome message board type group where you can post stuff you want to give away for free (or get for free) and people will come and take it away! it's great! one person's trash is another person's treasure and it's better for the planet.

freecycle.org is all over the country so you just have to go onto the site and find your local chapter. it really helped me get rid of junk that was too good to throw in the trash.

Thanks for the info. I hate to put stuff in the trash. If we want a planet to live on in 100 years we need to stop throwing away stuff just cause it isn't the newest or the best. This planet will only last so long at the rate we are going. I will check out craigslist as well. Lois

How were the other trips? Weather?
Were You still racing around the ship? :lmao:

Ann

The weather was wonderful. A few days we did have some showers ... but they lasted a short time.
And Im always racing around the ship.
One thing I have to do more offten is READ!!!
We received our last week of doc's on tuesday before we left. I looked at them and jammed them in my travel case and left 2 days later. IF I would have READ them.. I would have relized the we had an up-grade to cat 4!!!So in St Thomas we got the notice we had to pack our stuff and move to deck 8.
What a pain since we knew we didnt have to move when I made the ressies! But LOVED the up grade!!! Thanks DCL!!

Lois, I hope things went well at home evern dealing with your sisters death. Im so sorry for your loss.:guilty:

I hope everyone had as good as time as we did!

Wow an upgrade that you didn't even know about. What a deal.

We got through all the crap. My niece is staying with Debbie. So now she is a single mom to her two girls and Sarah. We did change our plans for next year and now we are cruiseing on 9/27, 10/4 and 10/11/08 if the good Lord is willing. My sister and all three girls will be with us the week of 9/27. I am trying to get my daughter to come but it does not look promising.

Ann since you two just got off what is the process on the day in port. I know you need to leave the ship but just how does DCL make that work? Can you or someone enlighten me?

Lois

Hi Lois,
Getting off the ship and checking back on was easy.

After everyone leaves the ship on Saturday morning, you have to bring your paper work(just like checking on the ship) and your passports down to the customs at 9 :30. After you clear customs you walk around the corner to go back up stairs to the terminal.
Around 10am the computers "turn over" and you have to go to the Supervisors desk, that's the last counter on the right where we all check in. They take your paper work give you your new KTTW cards and they escort you back into the ship.
The day is yours! The whole process takes about an hour. We started our laundry before we left and when we came back... tossed it in the dryers.
Just remember... there is no food or pools available, just the drink station and you can get back into your room.
Take advantage of no-one being in the terminal.... you should see how beautiful the floor reall is!!!
I'll tell you that the B2B2B was the best vacation we ever took. And we took only 4160 pics!!!:thumbsup2
Im glad you got thru the entire funeral thing well and your neice will be with Debbie. So what are the 3 dates. EWE or WEW ???

We are booked for the 9/27/08 alternative Westen, 10/4/08 Western, and the 10/11/08 Eastern. The first has two stops at Castaway and a stop at Costa Maya. So it will be four stops at Castaway, 2 at Cozumel, one at Costa Maya, Grand Caymen, St Maarten, and St Thomas. I can't wait. We only need to figure out how to pay for it. Lois

I agree.:thumbsup2 It was easy. Just fill out all you paperwork before you leave on your computer as it lets you type one letter in each field and it fills it in pretty quickly. It makes it super easy. You just need to fill out the Bahamas custom form and declare nothing as it isn't entering the country.

They actually lock the stateroom doors at 9am, just to let you know. I wanted to run up and do something in the room right before I got off and the door was locked.

Lois- I hope you are able to go and have a fantastic trip.

I'm already depressed about having to wait about 3 years to cruise again! I know we cannot swing it before that. With kids tuitions, car payments, debt up the wazoo (all that drinking onboard didn't help in that area), there is no way we will be able to save the cash until then. It's been a month since we went and I'm ready to go back! Only thing is, I wish my doggies could go with us. We really missed the two galoots while we were gone. One thing I would definitely be more careful about is where you buy your jewelry from when in Cozumel. I bought several sterling silver items and the clasp broke on one, my DD13's ankle bracelet lost all it's charms (before we even left the ship!), the other DD15's lost a charm, and DH's new wedding ring has to be polished ALOT! Oh well...live and learn.

There are a few people here I really would have liked to have met, but never got the chance. Baracueda, you are one of them! Never got to meet you! All the others that we did meet, hope we meet again sometime! Maybe on another Disney cruise in the future?

Good luck to those who will be cruising again soon. I'm so envious of you! Have a few pina colada's for me and soak up the sun!
