09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

yum...mousse....

my favorite palo dessert was that chocolate pot de creme at brunch. as you may recall it made me jiggle and giggle it was so good!!! :thumbsup2

We have been back since Saturday. For the last two nights I woke up thinking I was still on the ship. I saw the lights from the street lamp, and thought it was the moonlight from the verandah. How silly is that.

Did anyone have that chocolate lava cake? Thank goodness I had them add ice cream to cut it a little but myyyyyy gooodnessssss it was so yummy - aaaaah take me back :sad1:

Nothing like coming back from vacation and leaving a job! :thumbsup2

I just gave my notice yesterday which means I will be moving to Tampa in 3 weeks!!!!

Looking forward to meeting more Florida DISers. And of course being very close to the Happiest Place on Earth and DCL.

stina :wave2:

Good for you Stina. Keep us posted on how the move goes. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts that the move goes well and that you are able to find employment soon. Lois

First off....it was great spending time with everyone from these boards that we met! There were some people that I really wanted to meet up with, like FLtink, that I never got a chance to meet. Mamakoss...glad we had some drinks together! Pub crawl was a lot of fun! Boy do I love Irish Kevin's! Stina, let me know when you are heading toward Disney. Would love to see you two again.

Second....I thought that I was the only one who wasn't crazy about High Frequency. I had a hard time with the female singer's pronunciation of words to the songs. I also miss the tropical band that they used to have.

Third....loved Taylor Mason and his puppets. Paco cracked me up ("I'm staring at the man!") and so did Romeo. I think Rich P. is very funny even though I had seen him before. I didn't see the marionette guy so I can't comment on that.

Fourth....I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the blue toes in the adult pool. Hopefully, that has remedied itself. I think they must have just resurfaced it.

Fifth...I would definitely recommend the Mexican Cuisine Workshop that we did in Cozumel. (even though I got hurt there) It was really fun!

Happy sailing to all that have rebooked for a future cruise! :wizard:

Jill, I PM'd you my contact info, then you send me yours and we can get together when I am in the Orlando area!

Taylor Mason RULES!!! I have been watching clips of his videos on youtube.com, can't get enough of Romeo and Paco.

Paco says "Just dooooo it!"

Lois, thank you for your kind thoughts. I hope we can stay in touch and when you're in the WDW area we can see each other. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I was going thru more of my pictures and thought I'd share another couple or so. BTW, this cruise I was experimenting with various settings on my new Canon Digital Rebel, so quite a few of my pics were somewhat blurry as I played with various shutter speeds, etc. Anyways, 'nuff of that mumble-jumble. :thumbsup2

Here we go.

This first picture was one I took while doing an island tour in Grand Cayman. The taxi driver showed us this house to talk about how well the houses were built several years ago. This house, we were told, is over 100 years, and except for paint jobs and some cosmetic work on windows, the structure itself is the same as it was when it was built. The house next to it had its roof blown off during Hurricane Keith some years ago, yet this house has stood the tests of time.......and hurricanes.

This one was taken while returning to the ship in Cozumel. Those who know me well will tell you I love to have fun and this was why I couldn't refuse to take this shot. I loaded it unto my Blog and used this comment - "Even Disney Cruise ship's "rear end" looks better than the best "face" Carnival could ever front. Sorry...no offense to those who do, but I will NEVER step foot on a Carnival cruise.

The most pleasant thing I look forward to on the day of my cruise is for that motor coach to show up. What an awesome job Mears did for DCL with these.

Oops, how did this one sneak in on my post. Sorry folks, I didn't mean for this to happen...... This little one is our precious little Mini-Dachshund. Her name is Angel.

Great pics! We saw the same house in Grand Cayman... amazing!

And I really loved your pic of the Magic/Carinival ship. My DD age 4 calls it "the bad boat"..... why? well lets just say that about 11 years ago DH and I went on a Carnival cruise and my DH swore he would never get on another cruise ship ever again. I kind of forced him onto the Wonder in Nov, and well..... rest is history! :rotfl2:

I am going to pm you .... if you can, will you send me that pic? I can't copy it off the site. thanks!

Well, we arrived home Tuesday evening after a post cruise stay at Vero Beach with wonderful memories of the cruise, bad colds & a slight hangover for me!
Our deepest sympathies for the loss of loved ones while on the cruise. It puts in perspective the pipe that burst upstairs in our bathroom & flooded our tenants back bedroom & caused our refrigerator outlet to trip & shut off last Wednesday morning & the cancelled flight back to Laguardia on Tuesday. Not to mention our missing indoor cat who got out when our neighbors broke into our house through a back window to turn off the water. (Thankfully, she turned up yesterday, waltzing up on the back porch while I was having my coffee-My wife says the cat is now working on a trip report LOL.) All that will teach us to take a vacation!
But none of that can take away from the fantastic cruise & the people we met: Stina & Christine-We really enjoyed the pub crawl & I was serious about you leading us on a pub crawl of Epcot sometime. It was a pleasure meeting Jill & Bob, Dan (DnJLaw777), MamaKoss & Jim and anyone I have missed. What a fun bunch of people.
We had so much fun that we booked the 11/8/08 Eastern as did Lynn, Mary Jo & Jack. Anyone up for another cruise?
And by the way, while on board, I went on Amazon.com & ordered the 3 Taylor Mason DVD's they had. They arrived today & we plan on watching them tomorrow. I AM STARING AT THE MAN.
Goodnight,all
Chris

My DW and I were watching some Taylor Mason videos on YouTube. We also found a couple of videos on the "If I Were Not Upon The Sea" sketch that the cruise staff did in Diversions on the last night.

We're thinking of going to see Taylor Mason...apparently he will be in our area in a week or two. "Si Senor".

:rotfl2:

Chris, I am totally jealous! I want to buy those Taylor Mason videos too. But I've had to settle for watching clips of his on youtube.com. There's a clip on there of a show he did in Australia which is pretty funny, he does a great impression of Steve Irwin. I would love to go see Taylor Mason again, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for tour dates.

Chris - sorry to hear about your flooding and adventure kitty. My goodness, of COURSE something like that would happen while you were trying to have fun!

I have to say that the pub night on this cruise was the best one I'd seen so far. It was excellent. I have this great photo of CM Travis wearing a tutu that I will just have to post when I find my camera cord!

Chris

Janet and I have been so sick that we have not be able to work. I am just now begining to beel a little better. I thought it was someone on the plane that got us sick but now it sounds like it may have been something caught on board. Glad it didn't hit till we got home.

Janet and I are planning now to cruise 9/27/07, 10/4/08 & 10/11/08. Who else is with on on those.

Maybe we should have meet before we all booked. Hope all is well for everyone on the home front. Lois

DW also got sick a couple of days after disembarking. Then a couple of days later, I got sick, so the last day or two have been somewhat miserable. Whatever this "bug" is just seems to take all the energy outta you.

Now that I see your picture, I think we actually crossed paths a few times but I didn't realize it was you. We saw you in the adult pool one day I think. Too bad we didn't have big lables on us as to who we are! :o)

We also got blue toes form the pool, but they washed rigth off!

I also got hurt on the ship. I actually fell really badly into the Goofy pool due to the slippery flooring. NO FUN! I killed my head and my back! PLUS I gashed my leg getting on a jetski at Castaway Cay. I was all messed up after this cruise!

Count me and my sister in-law Dee in as those who disembarked with colds!

It is my intention to stay in touch. I am hopping your move goes well. It is alway exciting to move and start anew but there is also much stress. See you next time are paths cross. Lois

Add me to the sick list. I started getting a cold on Pirate night and it is still hanging on:sick: Brought Airborne and Sudafed but it did'nt help. Still had a great time! Did anyone see the dolphins on the port side Thursday morning around 11:00? Joy

Hey everyone! Sorry that I didn't get to meet everyone, by the time that we got on board, fed the kids and dropped off our carry on, we just made it to the drill. I do think that I met some people anyway, TwinPrincess..I'm pretty sure that we did the Castaway Ray's Sting Ray Adventure together. We were in your group.
We had a great time! I just talked my DH into letting me book the 5 night on 9/1/08! You can say that I'm a little bit hooked!!
I did learn ALOT, as this was our 1st cruise, so we (I) packed WAY too much!! I wasn't sure what I would need or want, so I packed EVERYTHING!!
Then, we ended up wearing practicily the same things all week!
I was also a little disapointed, I did ALOT of research for this cruise!! I bought formal, semi-formal and whole new wordrobes for the whole family, only to see LOTS of people wearing shorts to dinner and kakahis on formal night! My DH was VERY upset that I made him follow dress code EVERY night (he's a 23 yr old mechanic who would wear jeans and a t shirt every day if I let him!).
All in all we had a GREAT time!
I would love to meet anyone who is on the next cruise!! 9/1/08!!

BTW..DH and DS(2), both ended up with colds as well!
