I couldn't sleep tonight, so I was playing around on the internet. Well, Mel is in America so there really wasn't anybody talking on Disboards, so after awhile of piddling I decided to check out my balance on my American Express card.... What??? How could I have charged that much?
I started to look at my bill to see what charges I made and what could be returned! All I could think was, "Geoffrey is going to KILL me!" But as I looked I noticed a charge for an airline ticket to LONDON! $1,410!!! What??? I'm going to the Caribbean, not London. The charge even had the persons name listed. I immediately called American Express. By the time a real person got on the phone I was no longer on the correct page, I went back in search of the charge, but couldn't find it. Was this just a dream and now I'm about to make a fool out of myself? Unfortunately, no, after a few minutes of searching - there it was - plain as day! Along with that were three charges from American Express for baggage insurance and something else dealing with the flight. A little more investigation showed me a charge for match.com and some other match.com company. They were both already credited back, but why were they there in the first place? I'm a married woman (15 years) that loves her husband with two children, a job, volunteer work -that takes over my life, and two dogs! I've never understood - beyond the breaking of the vows, etc - how anybody would have the time/money to live two separate lives! Disboards is enough for me!!!
Anyway, they are checking into the charge and have removed it from my acct. temporarily until they can figure out what happened. The good news is that I am not in trouble from Geoffrey for over charging!
The bad news is that because of some scumbag I had to cancel my card (new one will be here on Tuesday). This may not seem like that big of a deal, but I know my number by heart and love that I don't have to constantly pull out my card everytime I buy something online. Oh, well, a small price to pay for peace of mind.
