09/05/09 LABORless MAGICal Meanderers

I'm hoping like crazy this whole swine flu thing has blown over by the time we go, but I am stressing being so OCD that I am!! Anyway, I know they asked this on the main board, but if there was a choice for another port where would everyone choose and why? I seriously have no idea about any of the other ports.

Personally, I would prefer another sea day!!!! I love the eastern with the extra sea day. Honestly, I wanted to do another eastern cruise again, but DH picked the western. Don't get me wrong, I am just thrilled to be on the ship and I would never say no to a Disney Cruise! I would just prefer the eastern to get the extra sea day.....plus St. Thomas was beautiful!
So my vote goes to extra sea day!

Another day at Castaway Cay, although I don't know how far it is if we could get there in time. :confused3

Extra sea day is easiest and probably most likely. I think to visit another port they have to register and . . . stuff. I don't know the process but I'm sure there is one. When there was all that talk about Alaska on the main board, they were saying that DCL already registered for 2011.

I know what you mean, Mel! Hopefully this mess will be over with by the time we sail! I actually have a co-worker who's going on a short cruise tomorrow-and the only place the cruise goes is Mexico (I think it's just a 3-night cruise). We were talking yesterday, and she didn't seem to worried about it. I asked her if the ship (she didn't say which cruise line, but obviously not DCL) would still stop in port, and she said yes. I guess I was kinda surprised by that!!

As far as our cruise, I think an extra day at CC would be nice, but so would another day at sea as well! I'm like the rest of you-just happy to be on the ship!

The last thing I want is another sea day, any rotten port can be turned into a sea day. Just don't get off and most other people will, that's much better than EVERYONE staying on the ship.

That said, I don't mind Nassau. I was thinking to go to Atlantis for a week so it'd be nice to go for the day just to make sure it's somewhere they'd like to stay for longer. :goodvibes

At this point the ban will be lifted on August 20th. Hopefully, the date will not be moved and all will stay the same. If it does change, we'll be fine going anywhere. I would personally like to stop somewhere. I know people love Castaway Cay and I'm sure I will too, but it would be fun to stop in Belize, Bahamas, or the Virgin Islands. We're game for whatever.

I actually feel horrible for the excursion companies in Mexico! Their income was just taken away. :scared1:

That's a very good point, ibela! It never occured to me that way!:rolleyes1

Funny that you mentioned Nassau as a possibility...the DH and I were talking about the same thing this morning. We wouldn't mind going there either...but since we've been twice, we'd probably stay on the boat. But it would be great for people like you who do want to check it out!:thumbsup2

There's lots to do on Castaway Cay and it's a short walk which is nice. That said, Belize is supposed to be beautiful so that'd be nice!

It didn't occur to me at first either lol. :upsidedow

I mentioned Nassau because that's where they're stopping this week. At this point I'm feeling like 8/20 is really close to our date and maybe we shouldn't chance it . . . Asher will only be 9 months, he doesn't have much of an immunity . . . I'm paranoid enough about germs to begin with

I'm not sure if we'd get off either. The other 2 of my crew can go on rides (especially water rides) every weekend if we could so the odds of them NOT liking Atlantis are pretty slim to none. Hmm, I know my mil has no interest in Atlantis, maybe I'll leave the baby on the boat with her and go on some slides myself . . . :teeth:

No, it is not really the same. On port days you can stay on the ship and enjoy many of the things onboard. However, there are many more acitivites planned for guests on sea days that are just not available while at port. There are some things on the ship that are closed down port days. It just isn't the same. Things are more limited.

However, if DCL decides to go to Nassau instead of Cozumel, our family will stay on the ship. We've been there before and we do not care to go back.

:welcome: Welcome, CarsFans! It's great to have you and your family here! Our group is growing more and more everyday! How cool that Phillip's birthday will be on the 11th-the DH and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on the same day! The ship is definitely going to be full of celebrations!:woohoo:

My wife and I will also be doing this cruise. We will be celebrating our 24th Anniversary on Sept 5. I am hoping to get Palos for that night so if your table is short two on the first night we will join you on Sunday.

I have a res at Poly for the same time with FD so I have to make up my mind for sure as which one to do. The cruise is ahead by about 90% but am also wondering about this swine flu and Cozumel. DW says it would be fine with her if they just left the ship docked at CC overnight so we could stay all night and the extra day there.:banana:. We haven't done WDW in 20years without chidren so that's why we thought about going there. We don't know how to make ADRs without making sure there is something to eat for our dear ones. :lmao:

I hope to meet up with some of yall on the cruise and will be lurking on here for more updates.

:dance3:Welcome CarsFans and Mickey moos:dance3:

Great to have you onboard and I will add your names to our front page:thumbsup2

Hi Guys,

To everyone participating in the fish extenders, can you please confirm to me whether or not you would like your stateroom posted on the front page or if you would like it to be kept private and passed on prior to the trip to the other participants? Just wanted to clarify before posting anything:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,

As the time for the cruise draws nearer I thought it would be an appropriate time to ask everyone when and where they would like to meet. The suggestion has been that we meet on the first day so that we recognise each other throughout the rest of the cruise. Past cruisers have also suggested a time of 3pm and in the promenade lounge as this is a spacious area. What do we all think?

I could not recall when the lifeboat drill was but I though from memory it was after that time and should give us plenty of time to meet up for a chat.

Anyway, look forward to hearing your thoughts:)

I was just looking back at some of my old Navigators, and it looks like the lifeboat drill started at 4, so I think 3 should work out great. I like the idea of meeting up before sailaway, and the Promenade works great for me!

Thank you, Mel, for taking the time to get this organized! I can't wait to meet everyone!:grouphug:

You can post our room number. 6542

Thanks for all of your help.

The Dis-meet time and place sounds great.

Welcome to both CarsFans and Mickey moos. Nice to have a place to talk about our upcoming trip... I think we are wearing out the family and friends around here. :)

Make some use of the countdown calendar I made back on page 27 or follow this link

pandaexpress: found this image on the magnet thread and thought you might want to use it to make a magnet for your cruise
