Mel, have you heard anything about what the forecast is like for this year? I know they usually predict how many storms that we may have at the beginning of the season, but I haven't seen the first thing about it. Anyone know? We've been talking about it a lot, and I sure hope the weather is good for us.

Hey Missy - well I've not heard anything on the national hurricane website for the Carribbean, only the Eastern Pacific, but I have heard a lot of talk on here by people saying that it was supposed to be a calm year because of El Nino or some such thing. Apparantly once every 3 or 4 years is calm due to a cycle or something. Of course, someone pretty please correct me if Im wrong, just going by what others have said on the Disboards.

Disney Minnie - We are lucky enough to be staying 5 nights Wilderness Lodge and 5 nights Boardwalk Villas prior to the cruise. Add in that and the travel time from here in Sydney over to LA for an overnight stop and that accounts for 12 days prior to the cruise:goodvibes

Ibela (Hi Irene:flower3:), prdaniel, dibond and rlreags I've updated the first page. Please tell me if there are any errors. Not long now.....

I am so excited. I would like to get 4 bracelets. I am not sure about the FEs. I am so not creative and time is fading fast until we sail...

Don't worry, we haven't made our FEs yet either! Worst case, I'm hanging a duffle bag with our names written on it with a Sharpie. Ooh - I just got an awesome idea, I can hang a pillowcase! Then as you people drop off a gift, I can ask you to sign it too! Instead of a pillowcase with character signatures (I got 2 frames done last year that I never did anything with), I can have my fellow DISers sign off. :goodvibes Of course I don't want anyone to say "ooh, Mickey duffle bag" and walk off with it . . . :upsidedow

Thanks! It's my in-laws that got it, they booked a GTY 12. Mil was hoping for oceanview, I told her then she can always PAY to upgrade. Cat 11 is still better than 12, plus they got a sideways cat 11 which I've never seen but everyone on the DIS seems to like it. :confused3

We also just got our cabin assignment - 7118!!

:hippie:

 Did you get that from a GTY 12? That's a cat 5 verandah room! :woohoo::yay::dance3: I hope to see you at port and please rub some pixie dust on me. Then again, maybe not. I'm worried if we do upgrade to a cat 4 we may want it going forward . . . :headache:

My husband had heard the very same thing. I sure hope it's true!

I posted about this on the main page today too because someone was asking about cruising in September. We took a cruise this same week last year and there were 3 hurricane's that week. We had to change around the order of the ports but we still had an amazing cruise and pretty good weather too. Our thought process was that lightening hopefully won't strike twice :) so we booked the same week this year.

30 days from today (I think)!!! :woohoo::yay:

Can anyone help us with excursions for Grand Cayman and Cozumel? I am thinking about the Boatswain beach tour so we can see the turtle farm but it seems pricey. Would appreciate any suggestions. DH hubby would be happy just to stay on the boat but I think we need to book at least one day out.

Thanks
Diana

PS - We have a 4 year old!

Hello All Fellow FE participants. If anyone has any allergies (e.g. nuts) please PM me to let me know.

Hi Diana,

We have decided in Grand Cayman to do the Seaworld Explorer Semi Submarine (It's only an hour and a half) with our 3 and 5 year old and then wing it for the rest of the day there. In Cozumel we thought we might go to the Discover Mexico park for a little while before going to Paradise Beach. Hope the kids will enjoy, I guess we will see:cool2:

i can't wait. my coworkers are laughing at me because I am like a kid waiting for christmas.

We are going to Stingray City in Grand Cayman and doing the dolphins in Cozumel. Wilson will be doing both.

We're doing the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel (with our 3 yr old) and at Grand Cayman will probably take a taxi to 7 Mile Beach (or elsewhere, I should really start looking this stuff up). We may just stay on the boat at GC too.

Mine are like, "you're talking about it so long, you still haven't left yet?!" :confused3

We should finalize the name by the end of this weekend to get the bracelets ordered. As of just now, 18 people voted.

The top 3 names are:
MAGICal Meanderings (5 votes)
Mickey's MAGICal Meanderers (4 votes)
Laborless Western Magic (4 votes)

We could either go with the top vote here or, so far, these 3 are really close we can do a quick poll with just these 3. Then again, we may not have time. Maybe for those that haven't voted yet - if you could stick to 1 of the 3 above we could finalize and get the bracelets ordered so we get them in time?

We are doing Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. DH and younger daughter are doing DCL excursion, dolphin swim, at Grand Cayman for her birthday. Older DD and I plan to stay onboard a while to let me wash a few clothes and then go to port to meet DH and DD to shop. The only thing we plan to do in Key West is the get the Key Lime Pie on a stick. YUM!
BTW, I voted for our name, and my pick is in the top 3. :thumbsup2

We're doing the Jeep Tour in Cozumel, and the Island Tour w/ the Butterfly Farm in Grand Cayman. I don't know how well little ones would like either of these, though!
BTW, I also voted for our cruise name!!

My partner and I just booked our first cruise for September 5th on the Magic, so it will be a new experience for us having for the most part sailed Royal Caribbean. Looking forward to getting away and relaxing though!

The poll closes today at 3:30 or so. At that point, I will set up a new poll for the weekend that will consist of the top three. At the end of the poll whichever one is ahead- wins!

We are also doing Naichi Cocum in Cozumel - it will be 4 adults and 2 kids.

In Grand Cayman we have hired a boat for the day.

CAN'T WAIT!

Welcome! We have sailed Disney 5 times and RCL twice. We love RCL as well as Disney. You will find that there are pros and cons of both!
