Welcome idrivealumina! :welcome:

Thank you very much. Very glad to be along!

I made a calendar that counts down to the day we board the ship. I hope you like it. Right click and "save-as", then print. I have plans of making these for the following months for all to use.

Thanks for sharing the calendar. It makes me wish we were closer to cruising.....

Welcome idrivealumina! The calendar looks great! I'm so glad that other families are as excited as I am. As you might have read, we are keeping the cruise a secret from our children so I am about to bust. The disboards have really helped give me an outlet so I don't blurt it out.

As far as the FE is concerned, I think we can do whatever we want. I have an idea of what I am going to do if people sign on. It seems to me that the fun is finding something in the FE and realizing you have "friends" around. I don't think the cost matters and believe the "magic" is in the thought. With that said, what exactly is the difference in the FE treats and a Secret Mickey?

I just tried to look at the Port Canaveral cam and can barely see the Magic. Bummer! Has anyone joined the cruise chat on Friday nights?

Typically, when you do a FE you get small gifts each day for everyone in the group. Everyone knows who is participating since all participants get a FE stateroom list. With the Secret Mickey, you either exchange gifts once during the cruise or small gifts over the course of the cruise (one-time exchanges are more common). You don’t know who gave you the gifts until you receive then (of until you receive your last gift if you exchange every night of the cruise). If enough people are interested, we could always do an FE and a Secret Mickey exchange.

My personal opinion is to give a gift to each person one time, but I'm up for whatever. Maybe by the time we sail we will have at least seven families and each family can be responsible for a day.

I've tried for three weeks to watch the Magic sail from Port Canaveral and each week something has come up; maybe next week!

idrivealumina, I printed the calendar a put it in a secret hiding place so I can count down the days privately. I am actually hoping that something very exciting happens to me soon so I will stop counting the days and it will mysteriously be time to go. Sad to say, but I already have stuffed packed! Not in suitcases, but in the laundry hamper at our storage unit. Shoe hangers, duct tape, clothespins, childrens treats, binoculars, clorox wipes, picture mats to have signed ziploc bags, birthday decorations for Preston, extension cords, zip ties, Bonine, and the list goes on.... :rolleyes1

One of the major things that we don't have is our passports! We ordered them on Feb. 28, the checks were cashed on March 4, the email said they would arrive before April 1, and we are still waiting. Luckily, we have a long time before we need them. My husband thought I was crazy for wanting to get them so early, but I'm so happy I did. If we had waited until the summer and it took this long I would be panicing!!!

I ordered a tux for my son off of ebay the other day. It was a great price and I just hope it fits. The size is actually one size bigger than what he wears, but it can be returned if needed.

Next... pirate costumes! Our daughter will be wearing a Tinker Bell costume, but I'm not sure about the rest of us. pirate:

I talked the DW and we agree about one gift per person for FE. We think it sounds like a ton of fun!

disney minnie, are you going to make a list of all the families interested in doing the FE's? Maybe aussieinvasion can post that under the families who are attending in post #1.

BTW, I already made up the rest of the calenders... I am really excited about the cruise and just couldn't quit once I started! I can't wait till the end of the month nears to put the next one up.

Hey everyone!!

I am happy to add on the first post whatever you guys want me to. I could do a list for those participating in FE's but just need you guys to PM me with your stateroom numbers if thats what you want to do. Just let me know,:thumbsup2:):goodvibes

Hope everyone is well. I am off to get the results of my Xray now. I've had a weird clicking in my jaw for the last few months and it looks like I might need an operation. Better to get this over and done with now so Im not limited in what I can eat on the cruise :rotfl:

We would like to be listed on the FE list.

I noticed I forgot to put our ages. Elizabeth - 39 in two weeks and Geoffrey 39

Can we also start a list of the birthday's that will be celebrated while we are on the ship? Preston will be 10 on Sept. 11.

I'm sorry to hear about your jaw and wish you the best of luck with the diagnosis. Hopefully all will be healed by the time we go on the cruise.:flower3:

Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for the update on the info, I will put it on the first post right now. Good idea about the celebrations section, I've lost track on who is celebrating what haha.:rotfl:
Well good news, no operation required - I just have a disfunctional joint in my jaw. So no limit on what I can eat now thank goodness:thumbsup2

OK all updated on the first post now, includes list of celebrations and FE participants. Whoever wants to be added to the FE list just PM me and I'll add your name and don't forget to give your stateroom number please:goodvibes

Anyone book the REAS package? The 105 day booking window is on the 23 May - not that far away at all now. Its got me thinking about Palo, shore excursions etc. I guess I better put some serious thought into my definite plans for this.

So far I can only think of Palo for the night we are in Grand Cayman, I believe its Master Chef Night? Someone correct me if I am wrong. I am confused about all of the other plans. When is everyone else thinking of Palo? Love to hear when and why you are choosing the day that you are.

HEY HEY HEY! We figured you guys might need some company, and will be joining everyone on the Sept 5 Western Cruise aboard the MAGIC!

Me (Chris) 34, DW (Kim) 32, 2 of our 4 DS's 4yr (Aidan, will be 5yr at time of cruise) and ~5mo (Rylan, will be ~11mo at time of cruise)

My folks are taking our other 2 DS's 12 (Devin) and 8 (Ethan) to WDW with their cousins at the same time.

This is our first cruise and already have plans to cruise next year with my folks and 2 brothers and all of their respective family members. You could say we are just going to check it out for everyone else :)

Welcome aboard!! We're going to have a 9 month old on board with us so I guess we'll be seeing lots of you at the splash area!

Sounds busy, I'd be open to a 1-time exchange or Secret Mickey.

Are you going to track stateroom numbers too? You're such a good sport! Even though I'm pretty sure I posted my stateroom on here at some point, I've changed it since and people on the main board got me paranoid about posting it so maybe we can send a list to those participating and not post all the rooms?

And I'm glad you don't need an operation!!

:scared: With all the hecticness that is my life lately, I haven't even had a chance to pick which night I want to go to Palo. We don't reserve until the 90 day mark though so I still have a bit of time but I need to get on this!

We have the REAS package and are planning on booking the same night. Our 15th anniversary is this June and we are going to celebrate it at Palo. I was going to schedule it on Thursday, but that's lobster night and I didn't want the kids to miss out. When else can I say, "Eat all the lobster you want?"

I haven't heard about Master Chef night. Please explain.

I can't wait to book everything! I think I will be able to put the planning to the side for awhile once I know everything is booked.

We are staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise and taking the shuttle over to the port. I've been reading a post that says this is a hit or miss situtation. Anyone else staying at the Radisson?

What have people said about posting your room number?

That it can be unsafe to post kids names and room numbers online. I don't know if it really matters or not, wasn't an issue last time but are they paranoid or am I too 'whatever'?

Quick question for you guys - does anyone know which night is which. I can't find like which night is Master Chef night, Captain's Gala, etc. I know it's around here in at least 1 place but where?! :confused3

I think the Captain's Gala is semi-formal lobster night, so that would make it on Thursday night. I have Pirate night on Wednesday and formal night on Monday. I think this is correct.

We will be celebrating Preston's birthday on Friday night and we will of course want to be at dinner together on the first night, so our only option for Palo is Tuesday.

queenof2princesses - The dolphin experience is now 20% off. I'm still going to hold off a little while hoping for the children free discount. Since I have now seen three discounts over the last month and a half I feel like no matter what I will get something.

OK I will remove stateroom numbers from the first post now, thanks for the heads up irene;)

I can't remember when they all are either, I just remember that Master Chef is when we are in Grand Cayman lol. I think Captain's Gala might be semi formal night? I think this is the night after Pirate Night which is when we are in Cozumel. This might be a sea day or when we are at Castaway cay, I will check:surfweb:

I'm fine with ours being on the list. Our children are not old enough to roam the ship by themselves, so they will either be with us or in the kids club.

OK guys, here is the lowdown:

Saturday: Cruise Casual
Sunday: Cruise Casual - day at Key West
Monday: Formal wear - day at sea
Tuesday: Cruise Casual - day at Grand Cayman, Master Chef Night
Wednesday: Pirate or Cruise Casual - day at Cozumel, Pirate Night
Thursday: Semi Formal - day at sea, Captains Gala
Friday: Cruise Casual - day at Castaway Cay, Til We Meet Again

Evenings from Tuesday to Friday have a special menu to celebrate each of the evenings occassions.
