The secret is out!!!! :thumbsup2

When are you telling the kids about it??

Cool pictures - I've seen a bunch of the special effects PP pictures - but I've never seen that one. I joined a PP share through TourGuideMike for only $20 so we'll try some of those things out. I didn't want to pay for the whole thing because I'm not sure how many pictures we'll get out of it. We'll see... Hopefully it works out well.

I didn't know you could that...good luck w/ that! I'm going to look into pre-buying the PP CD for this trip. Need to read up on that again.
I wish I could go to the poly as well. Looks like a lot of fun. My parents can't afford to go there but we are saving up. Glad u had fun

Yes it was :crazy2: pricey, but it was so worth it. It may be one of those once in a lifetime stays as far as our family, but I hope someday to stay there again just my hubby & I....

I will miss the monorail is March!:sad2:

:cool1: :cool1: For the ticker.
Thanks and good to see you!

sorry
Kathy

The secret is out!!!! :thumbsup2

When are you telling the kids about it??

Yes I couldn't keep it in anymore...now just to keep it in alittle longer from the kids. They already know accidently that our original plans to go to Atlanta to see my Aunt are out and we are going somewhere else, but they don't know where yet. I really don't think they would suspect WDW yet, as they think the next trip is next November...

Have to talk w/ DH about how to spring the magic pixiedust:

100_2393.jpg

We got to Tony’s before our time, but still got seated pretty quickly. We had a nice table against the back wall, w/ the only negative was the kitchen entrance was right there, but it didn’t end up being too loud.

100_2375.jpg

All the kids had spaghetti and meatballs but of course. And Margaret shared w/ Mae. Finally a meal she actually ate:

100_2380.jpg

100_2376.jpg

100_2377.jpg

I don’t remember what DH ordered but from the heat and all he barely had an appetite. I ordered a pork tenderloin meal w/ some side even in my notes I didn’t remember. But I ate the entire meat portion, it was tasty. For dessert the kids had ice cream sundae cups, DH had some sort of apple sorbet and I had a layered lemon cake which neither of us finished.

Please don’t think because of the adult’s lack of eating this place receives a thumbs down from us. I think we just were tired and hot and as you know that really can affect how much you can eat.

After a PB pit stop and some pictures:

100_2382.jpg

100_2381.jpg

100_2383.jpg

No Mae did not buy Lady and the Tramp, it was just a cute pic.

We headed back outside and noticed Chip (chocolate chip nose) and Dale out, so we stopped for a great signing session. Mae went up first to get their autographs since the twins had them already from a previous trip.

100_2384.jpg

Then the rest of the kids, including Margaret in Daddy’s safe arms went to say hi!

100_2386.jpg

100_2387.jpg

100_2389.jpg

100_2390.jpg

Then the CM w/ them said why not a group shot? We said yes and look what we got:

100_2392-1.jpg

This is by far my favorite family shot of the whole trip and she [CM] only took one shot, she knows what she is doing!

Up next we headed over to HOP.

On our way we took a walk via the Castle forcort, the crowds were already claiming seats for the parade. And we let the kids blow off some steam doing this:

100_2400.jpg

And then Aldine asked can I touch it? [meaning the castle] She was thrilled!
100_2401.jpg

100_2402.jpg

Here are some pictures that DH took of the Castle:

100_2403.jpg

100_2398.jpg

We waited inside for a few minutes before the show began and the twins liked looking at the artifacts and pictures of all the presidents. Especially Michael he loved seeing the one of Teddy, someone he really admires.

100_2406.jpg

side note: HOP will be closed while we will be there in March for rehab till June or July of this year...I think to add our newest President, but I know Michael will be bummed. Kathy better get that ticker for after it reopens too!

When we took the picture we then struck up a conversation w/ some other guests waiting nearby why I took the picture. I explained that Michael (in 3rd grade last school yr) for his biography report picked Teddy Roosevelt and has really found how much he likes and admires him. It was a nice show, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it or at least not since I was a little kid myself. But we wished more of the presidents talked.

After HOP we went back across the park back to the LF again and got in pretty quickly. But now the time was escaping us and we did some serious speed walking back up to Toontown via the “secret path” with hopes to see the Princesses. I thought for sure the line we be shorter now that people were lining the streets in anticipation of Spectro, but it was just as long as the morning. The wait time posted was 45 minutes still. :scared:

We asked the CM out there if it really would be that long…

Would we actually get in line?

How long would we wait?

Would it be worth it?

How would Michael and Margaret and the rest of us handle the wait?:confused3

Please come back and see…..

Great update! That picture of all of you and Chip & Dale is really wonderful - that's one for your wall for sure! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to your next fun update ::yes::

Great group shot!!

I'm bummed that HOP will be closed during our trip (and Space Mtn. closes a week before we arrive). I think Alex would have enjoyed HOP a lot - he has started showing interest since around the time of the election last fall. Oh well... at least he doesn't know what he's missing yet.

Once every 10 years or so is enough for me and HOP.

Love. love. love the family pic with Chip and Dale.

Scrappie, I don't know how Billy will react when he sees that his beloved HOP has been changed!! :faint:

Love your C&D Pic with the whole family... everyone is smiling at the same time!! I understand why its your favorite...

(But, I'm partial to Margaret with spaghetti sause all over her face!) :cutie:

Oh I hope you got to see the princesses!!!

Hi Lisa it is great to "see" you again! I have that picture as the wallpaper on my computer and the center photo for a trip collage I made as well. It really is great. I bought C&D stickers at the scrapbook store for a spread just on that meet & greet too!

Now you have one additional reason to come back in 010 ;)

Ok I'm gonna try and get the post up now before picking up the kids from school.....

The end of our Marathon Day at the Magic Kingdom.

So we decided to give it a go. We parked the stroller and headed on back. After in the line for a few minutes Michael was immediately getting antsy. So DH went back out to get him a book to read. As I stood there w/ the 4 kids, another guest who didn’t notice DH was w/ me before, thought I was by myself w/ the kids and commented how brave I was….

It was a long and somewhat boring wait. I don’t have written down how long we actually waited but it was LONG!!!!! One of the only nice parts in line was when you got to the point before you actually go in the tent to see them they have all these old pictures of guests w/ the characters on the walls. Plus they have these video screens w/ trivia on them that kept us amused.

Well it seemed like finally our turn when a CM came out to retrieve more guests but we were just short of going in. So there we stood another good several minutes when finally it was our turn. So Mae was in front of me and when we turned the corner who was standing there but Aurora in her beautiful pink dress and golden crown and she immediately noticed that Mae was wearing her Aurora shirt and new Princess crown we picked out earlier in the day w/ her Disney g/c.

And then just like perfect Disney Magic, the two of them were walking hand in hand down the hallway. I’m than frantic….the camera, the camera, we need to get a picture. Yes DUH the camera was in DH’s pocket and I think we were both enchanted by this special moment. But we did catch it:

100_2411-1.jpg

So then were in the tent and Aurora took her into her section and they chatted, took pictures and hugged. Oh it was so precious. My eyes are welling just thinking and remembering how special this really was!

100_2412.jpg

image108.jpg

100_2413.jpg

image114-1.jpg

Up next was Aldine’s turn w/ her and she[Aurora] equally took her time w/ Aldine to make her moment just as sweet. Michael was not interested in going by her and just stood back w/ Dad. We thought Margaret would be willing to go by the Princesses, but she was unsure still of these Disney folks. So w/ her in my arms, Sleeping Beauty came and visited her.

100_2415.jpg

100_2416.jpg

image123-1.jpg

We next saw Cinderella; both the girls took their turns w/ her taking pictures. They all looked so pretty together.

100_2420.jpg

100_2422.jpg

100_2424.jpg

At this point Margaret was on the floor and we, Cinderella and the PP guy all tried to get her to go by her. It was just so sweet and wonderful how they all tried. The PP guy was on the floor taking pictures of her:

image131.jpg

100_2425.jpg

And even Cinderella in her big ball gown was down on the floor. Margaret just kinda stared at her and had lost one of her crocs (it just fell off )…Cinderella commented “oh you lost a slipper…that happens to me all the time”

100_2426.jpg

100_2427.jpg

We tried placing Margaret in her lap on the floor but she then got upset and we said thank you to Cindy and the PP guy plus the generous guests waiting their turns to give my special girl her chance to visit w/ the Princess.

We then visited w/ Belle. The girls took their turns w/ her and we did a shared photo.

image143.jpg

100_2429.jpg

By this point Michael was very bored, and antsy to get out of there. Belle could tell and asked “Young Sir what is troubling you?” well as any parent of an Aspergian child knows he told her…:scared:

I at first was like ugh, um I need to apologize but then she stepped right in and said “oh well that’s not very nice or fun then.” “But what is this in your hand?” “a Book” “Oh I love to read!” and that was the trick…

Michael opened right up to her then and they spent 5 minutes chatting about his book and reading. It truly touched my heart!

Here are some picture of Michael and Belle:

100_2428-1.jpg

100_2430.jpg

So to answer the question was it worth it?

Oh YES it WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

After we were done w/ the Princesses it was now super late and Wishes was going to start soon. We made a mad dash back toward the castle. I had hoped to get over the Tomorrowland Bridge and view the show from there across from the castle. But no luck crossing that, the crowd was 30 feet deep probably. We ended up over on the side of MS and really didn’t have a good view. I nudged my way through the crowd once it had started to get in front of the castle to see better and try and get some pictures. DH and the kids later joined me. Even though we were in a huge crowd we did get to see Tink come down from the castle and the fireworks were of course awesome.

100_2433.jpg

100_2435.jpg

100_2436.jpg

100_2439.jpg

100_2441.jpg

Margaret had fallen asleep in her stroller and we made our way across the crowds and over to some table by Casey’s. We waited there for a while in hopes of the crowds thinning out. But Michael was too impatient to wait any longer. So he, Aldine and I headed out first. We walked through a few of the gifts shops in hopes of finding this one last souvenir for Aldine but we couldn’t find it. We met up w/ DH and the little girls near the boat launches, thinking this would be faster…than the monorail. But then we realized we’d have to fold down the stroller so DH took her and Mae to wait for the Mono and I waited w/ the twins for the boat. One reason for the boat is we wanted Michael to have a chance to ride a boat before his morning Pirate Cruise the next day…

It was a long wait but we enjoyed the ride and it made Michael a little more relaxed about his boat trip the next day. While on the way to the Poly, the captain gave some trivia about before the lagoon was all here how the Poly land/ beach went farther out and there was a wave pool in front and the breaker wall is still there in the lagoon. Interesting fact I never would have heard if we didn’t wait for the boat.

Once to the dock, I asked the captain if this was the same kind of boat for the PC and he talked w/ Michael a quick minute. Which was really nice.

I don’t know who made it back first; it might have been DH and the girls. But we weren’t in bed again till almost midnight. UGH

It was a long, but very great day at MK filled w/ many wonderful memories especially w/ the characters.

Up Next the last day of our trip Day 8)

Thanks for reading and sharing the Magic we were given.

If I buy her a new wig will you take it to her? Drives me nuts that Disney gives Sleeping Beauty such a cheap looking wig!

100_2424.jpg

That has to be one of the prettiest Cinderella's I've seen.....and that little girl with her is cute too!

100_2430.jpg

Is it just me or is that Belle look like she could be cousins with Vanna White?

It wasn't actually a wave pool. There was (still is actually under the water) a wave making machine like at a wave pool to make waves in the 7 Seas Lagoon. But it turned out that the waves were too strong and started to arode the beaches.

Great update!! I'm so glad you guys made it to see the princesses. Belle was so sweet with Michael! And the pictures of Cindy on the floor with Margaret are priceless!pixiedust:

The fireworks are awesome - I can't wait to FINALLY see them in April (or May). If we only stay out late one night all week, it will be for Wishes!! ::yes::

Can't wait for day 8!!

Oh, I am so, so glad that you had such wonderful CMs for princesses! (Especially so late!) They took so much time and paid such special attention to all the kids....I love when characters are like that! pixiedust:

I'm with you: So, you lost a bit of sleep! You can sleep anytime, you can only bond with the princesses when you're at Disney!!

FIRST to all my NE state buddies and anyone who is in bad weather... Hope you are all well and not having to run generators 24/7. Here's a prayer that we all stay safe, warm & healthy. That our Father above sustains all of us through this long winter and that the "lion" will go to sleep soon and the "lamb" of Spring emerges soon!:goodvibes

I agree she was very pretty, even prettier than when we saw her on the 1st night.....

It's hard to remember all the details, but I think your right...that sounds like what he said. Thanks Miss Disney;)

Me too it really was so special! We experienced so many great character moments this trip, but this was the best for me and I hope for the kids!

The fireworks are awesome - I can't wait to FINALLY see them in April (or May). If we only stay out late one night all week, it will be for Wishes!! ::yes:: It is the best, make sure you get a nice viewing spot for your first time seeing the show, you can always save your seat and then have DH or yourself take the boys on something to help pass the time...

Can't wait for day 8!! coming soon

We got about 6 inches of snow followed by a little freezing rain/ice yesterday. No school... but everyone was up and out the door this morning. It feels like a Monday. :confused3 We do have some ice still hanging around though... I dropped a box of peaches (that I got at BJs today) in the driveway and it slid all the way down the driveway on the ice and almost went into the road!

Funny story - My neighbor and I are the co-presidents of our Elementary School PTO and we had a meeting last week. I was there a little early setting up. The principal was there so we were chatting - I asked him what the plan is to make up the snow days and he said that the district is waiting a few more weeks to see how many we end up with before deciding. (Yesterday was day 6.) Then he said, we shouldn't have many more since winter is almost over!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I almost fell on the floor laughing. I'm an optimist, but even I know that winter isn't almost over!! I guess we'll have to see what the groundhog says this weekend. ;)

Here's hoping for no more snow, below zero days and school off for you guys. 6 man that is alot and I'm complaining about 3....:guilty:
