Scrappie-Do! That has to be the nicest post I have every read on the DIS!

I've really enjoyed posting here and having you post on my thread. And I can't wait to hear all about your adventure when you get back :wizard:

HI!:goodvibes I can't believe you are so close to going!!! :yay: :woohoo: I have had very little Dis time but remember I think of you often and thanks for remembering me. BTW,loved the pancakes.

Oh that is sooo nice!! It's been a pleasure to be part of your 10 month PTR and I'm just as excited that your trip is almost here as you are... OK - not quite as excited as you are! :rotfl:

I'm always happy to share what I can about autism and ways to make things more "normal" for those living with it. And thanks to you for sharing your special guidebook - that's going to be a must for our next trip. :thumbsup2

Playing Fairy Godmother for your kids was so much fun! It was like having you guys along with me on my little trip!

I'm so glad to be considered your friend!! And I can't wait to read all about your trip in your TR when you get back!!

I know I'll be posting again before you go, but...

HAVE FUN!!!!!!! :cool1:

You're welcome..said it before and I'll say it again-the love DISERs have for eachother constantly amazes me.
Now have fun on that trip!

:wave2: HI!

ONLY THREE DAYS LEFT!!!! :hyper: :yay:

After a busy, busy weekend (celebrating my Dad's retirement 40 yrs w/ the USPS, church and family things, plus squeezing in some Disney prep and packing :faint: :faint:) and today DH's b-day:cake: ...need to get the cake in the oven, good thing he said the box mix was ok and had last minute errands to run, plus a memorial service I went to this morning....

I only have this quick minute before getting the twins from school to stop by and say I'm still here, crazy, but excited, it actually feels a little surreal to tell people "yeah I'm leaving this Thursday!".

I plan to carve out some morning time with you all and get my major last posts for this PTR and on the guidebook on the disABILITIES board too.

so till then...happy thoughts for all of you and yours! :goodvibes

PS will try to get caught up a few of yours PTR/TR too before I go :moped:

Scrappie (J-):mickeyjum :tinker:

I can't believe it's THIS THURSDAY!!

PS - My dad retired from the USPS too - about 5 years ago! He only had about 30 years though. He still works, he was just ready for a change - and doesn't have to work as hard anymore.

Just stopping by to wish you and your family a safe and wonder vacation filled with pixie dust pixiedust::wizard:

Tooooooommmmmmmoooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww!

Here's my happy one more day dance for you!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :dancer: :jumping1: party: :rainbow: :dance3:

Have a WONDERFUL trip!! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I'm feeling a little of this :hyper: and :faint: and :yay: and :headache: but mostly :mickeyjum it's almost time to see M-I-C-K-E-Y!!!!

:dance3:

so I did sit down yesterday at the computer and came to the forums...but that was as far as I got. Ok you'll have to fofgive me as time is not my friend right now and the knots in my stomach are started to creep in....(I always feel like this before a big-trip) so this will be a quick cap up of my PTR and final goodbye!

PACKING

The lists are mostly all crossed off and have a gazillion checkmarks on them....

The suitcases are full (FULLER then in my 2 pics), I was up till about 11:30 last night finishing up the last minute packing and such...which wasn't too bad the CUBS are playing SD so the games are on 9:00 pm CST, so listening away to Ron & Pat and the play by play on the radio I finsihed filling our 5 suitcases and then did the weight checks....:worried: our 1 big green one, was over weight in 05 a mistake I hope not to happen this time or we'll be paying $100 both ways. Mostly just DH and my clothes in there, then add our tolitrie bag and his pillow (yes DH has breathing/snoring issues at night, so if anyone is gonna sleep it has to come) and step on the scale.....

 48 lbs

That's not gonna do! Re-pack, need another bag....UGH!!!! :headache: so after some rearranging and more help from DH (which he says to me...."I'm tired of packing" "what?" I say...."I've been packing for 2 WEEKS, you've been packing for a 1/2 hour" oh men:laughing:

So now we'll be traveling with 5 suitcases, 1 duffel bag, 4 children, 1 purse (backsack like thing), 1 laptop bag, 1 diaper bag, 1 carseat, and 4 carryon bags (Ok really 5 as the duffel bag is going on the plane going down and then checked coming home)

Man is that alot....good thing we don't have to pay for it!

Here's our suitcases....the twins got those cute purple and green uprights for their b-days!

Here's some misc things that were left to pack yesterday....

Here are the partial filled 2 bigger suitcases:

100_1405.jpg

So I have to admit a little packing left...toothbrushes and last minute med's & tolietries and my older girls costumes for our Cinderella dinner (plus DH's pillow) in the morning tomorrow. Today I still need to finish packing my purse, my carry-on bag, some toys for Margaret (what to bring that amuses her but not obnoxious to any plane traveler, plus if we lose she won't  ), finish helping Aldine & Michael w/ their carry-on bags too.

(OH ps Heidi, my diaper tricks: If you don't mail any down take several bunches and put in gallon size zip-locks, squish out all the air and seal...real FLAT! Tip 2 I only have a regular changing pad in the hotel room, on the plane, touring, etc. I have the disposable changing pads tucked in a bunch of diapers to keep replenshing the diaper bag. Tip 3: I bring small/tiny garabge bags (or those blue baby-powdered ones) for holding onto a change when you don't have a trash can handy. Final tip: You'll generally not change your child as often as you would at home.... so don't overpack those suitcase fillers and I use wipes that can double as face/hand cleaners nice thick ones)

WDW TRIP NECCESSITIES FOR OCD TRAVELER:

100_1395.jpg

First my MouseScrapper id tags which I made with the LG HDMH and some other disney things and DH laminated for me. (I still need to put a string or cord through each one and tie them on) 1 is my spare, 1 will be attached to my backsack and 1 to Margaret's stroller.

100_1397.jpg

Next our my fun kid Disney maps that Heidi "gave" me that DH laminated double sided.

100_1398.jpg

Then we have copies from the PassPorter Treasure Hunters book full of great Q's for the Disney fan (particularly Michael) to search for while we are there.

100_1399.jpg

And now here are my daily schedules, colored-coded, with our attraction hopeful orders and times, plus dinning info etc. I have 1 per day all laminated seperately.

100_1400.jpg

Finally are my "Day Bags"! So what are they?

1 ziplock bag labeled for each day that will contian that days particular needs:

* Michael's stickers for his guidebook

* A more generalized breakdown of the days schedule

* The treasure Hunt pages

* Park Maps

* Dinning/$ envelope to track expenses, plus our tip $ (I prefigured what we'll pay most likely out of pocket and then the approx tip for our TS's, we'd like to pay our servers w/ cash. The pop $ will be back at our room (in safe) and we''l charge back to the room. The envelopes will serve as my recipet holders as well.

* the color-coded schedule w/ attraction orders.

This way each day I just grab 1 bag and off we go...no switching things around each night, re-figuring anything. Hope it will work and help!
100_1401.jpg

My last trip planning things to share are the Travel Journal's and Fun books I made for the 3 older kids, myself and my DMom.

100_1406.jpg

I was inspired for the covers by another Diser on the Creative threads and made them in Microsoft Pub. Then printed the covers and laminated them. Then filled the insides with all sorts of fun things form different sites...journal pgs, games, coloring pgs etc. These won't be going into the parks with us, but use them on the plane, back at the room and once we get home too. (I plan to carry a small notebook in the parks to write down details to report back to all of you)

Well I guess it's good-bye for now, but I'll see you Real SOON!

Happy Disney Thoughts and Memories to all!

See you in 10 days!

J-

All I can say is WOW Girl! Everything looks organized and ready to GO!
I see you used Mouse Manager....I've been using it too...so easy to update it and I love how it prints. We do a lot of the same things with our "day bags". And from the looks of it...the diapers can be replaced with souvenirs for the trip home!

Have a wicked awesome time!

Hello all,

just stopping in to say I'm home to my "real" world home back in IL and feeling quite "disney-sick" (as in home-sick) and literaly  too...got that after vacation cold approaching full steam ahead :headache:

so of course only 2 days since getting home and trying to decide in my little brain could we go back before our 3-year plan of 2011 and where do we stay our family of 6?

ahh! the Disney freak in all of us, I'm sure thinks this way when we get home from WDW.

I'll be back in the coming week to re-cap the PTR and offically start by TR.

Have a DISNEY day and happy Father's Day to all your Dad's and Dad's of your kiddos.

J-:goodvibes

Happy to have you back Scrappie-Do!

I'm looking forward to hearing all about your Disney time!

Ok my Disboard friends....that cold I said that I had well it got worse and turned real bad. I have pnemonia. Home but feeling completely :faint: .

It will be a little while before I get back here to start up on my TR, hang in there with me and keep me in your prayers if you can that I recover well and fully soon.

Life has been pretty stinky since we've been back, but I have over 1000 pictures and plenty of stories to share about our trip.

Heidi...send me your envelope any time I have your things. Organizing my things on my bed and working on my journal keeping me a bit busy besides snoozing away the days.

Jenna-sorry we never connected while we were down there...but if you did make it to the DHS on Sun...you probably know why...2 words HOT & CROWDS!

Glad to take a small moment to check-in, but feeling very tired now.

J-

I'm so sorry to hear you are sick!! :(

It stinks to come home from a great vacation to begin with, then to be sick on top of that... yuck!

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh Scrappie-Do, I'm so sorry your ill. Please let good care of yourself. I'll send the envelop but do not worry about returning it until you fell better. I'm only thankful that you didn't get this sick on vacation.

Hey Scrappie-Do...just checking in to see if you're feeling better. Hope all is well in your house!
