Wow, 3 BIG posts in 3 days...you guys better REALLY hang on tight and try to keep up! I'm gonna be posting like Mad over these next 44 days...can I say that one more time? 44 days, imagine how stoked I'll be at 43? JK

Now onto business:

First a little background info on my eldest DD Aldine. Aldine will be 9 in just a short 15 days with her twin Michael. Aldine is her middle name and she was given this name as tribute and memory of my DDad's stepmother, my Grandmother (his mother passed when I was only 3 I don't remember her) My Grandmother Aldine went home to God when I was in high school, but my childhood Spring Breaks were spent with her and my Grandpa down in Hot Springs Arkansas. She was your storybook Grandma and I have wonderful cherised memories of her and her home. I'm honored to give my eldest daughter her name! :lovestruc

Now my Aldine really is fun, energetic, loves to try new things, has a passion for dolls, american history, crafting, playing w/ friends, singing, and lately into horses. She's very helpful and has taken on many added responsibilites over the last 2 years with Michael's needs and the birth of Margaret. I don't think I tell her enough how much I love her and proud of what she does...

though in common mother-daughter fashion we don't often see eye to eye on everthing and do butt heads a bit...as DH says "you know where she got that from"

When it comes to Disney, she's the daredevil of the bunch like me! :yay: Her favorite things are widely vast from thrills and chills, to still girly and entering the pre-teen stage (oh yes its starting....)

Here are a few pic's:

100_1136.jpg

a few shelves from her bookcase, filled with Lilo, Hawaiian fun, Disney and dolls

100_1137.jpg

oh yes, like just about everyother 7-12 yr old girl in America she became HSM-ized..we have books, cd's and DVDs...I cross the line at the dolls but I bought her a shirt to wear at Disney

100_1139.jpg

This isn't Disney but her AG friends wanted to say "hi" :wave2: to Kathy RN's DD's AG friends. "Hi, we're Josefina and Felicity nice to meet you."

Here are a few pictures from 2005 at the World:

100_1011.jpg

Isn't this a classic look...standing in line waiting to go in MK

100_1204.jpg

On her 6th b-day at Chef Mickey's the DGrandma's bought each twin one of those....

100_1283.jpg

Probably one of my favorite pictures of her...back behind American Adventure in WS during the Flower & Garden Show

Now to her TOP 5:

1) Go on Splash Mountain:umbrella:

2)Go on Big Thunder Mountian Railroad (that's with me) :woohoo:

3) The Hawaiian Restaurant (O'Hana's) and meet Lilo :flower1:

4) Go on Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride (didn't do in 05) ::yes::

5) Meet Kim Possible and see HSM Pep Rally :cheer2: :cheer2:

My Wishes :genie: for her trip:

* sometimes she a bit :snail: like in the morning...I hope we can keep her on pace for her sake and mine

* I hope the little girl MAGIC :wizard: will still be in her and she'll have fun dressing up for our meal w/ Cinderella and she has new and wonderful magical moments like never before!!!

* I hope we can find some special time to just be together, her and I, she sometimes gets the short end of the stick at home and I just want her to be a KID and have fun with MOM! like that Orlando Vacation video....

* I hope she doesn't get lost :scared: she's the wanderer of the bunch and I think we almost lost her in 05 too...she tends to see something pretty and stop.

* Most importantly, she'll just have FUN, FUN, and more FUN!!!:yay:

hope you enjoy!

MouseScrapper (J-) :tinker:

Great wants Aldine-I love your Felicity. Have fun on Splash mountain-that's my favorite ride.

Which autism walk are you doing? And when is it? We have done the Autism Speaks walk for the past 5 years in NH. It's always in late September or early October. We also have a walk each spring through the Autism Society of NH. We have never been able to make it to that one - apparently a lot of people have had that problem so they are changing it to the fall this year.

Sorry if you already answered this in one of your future posts... I'm two posts behind! :scared1:

That was me!! I had a list of lists - but mine wasn't anywhere near as long as yours! :worship: You have a lot to do!

All caught up! I love the Aldine update! Thanks for sharing pictures. It made me sad when you said "* I hope the little girl MAGIC will still be in her and she'll have fun dressing up for our meal w/ Cinderella and she has new and wonderful magical moments like never before!!!" They grow up so fast!!

Wow that is some to do list...makes my feel lazy that I haven't called the vet yet this week. And I need to come up with something for the kids to do at my DS's party. I had brought a foam animal craft project but when I did a test run I discovered that it wasn't going to work...too hard for little kids even using double sided tape instead of glue. I'll have ages 7 thru 1 here. I was thinking of somesort of a passport that they could put stickers on and maybe color. Any suggestion Miss Scrappie-Do??
You should make it a point to steal some time alone with Aldine at Disney...those memories would mean so much to the both of you.

Aaaah, the list of lists...

Yeah, I had one of those too... just not in my PTR... altough, I almost had the equivalent in pretty much all my PTR posts! haha! I tend to finish with what I still have to do... :lmao:

I love your top 5 and your own wishes for each member of your family. Not only does it help us know them better, but it's also really sweet!!! :goodvibes

I agree with MRYPPNS, you shouldn't just wish for that special magic, bonding girl time... you should make it happen! Like going to the Grand Floridian High afternoon tea (unless adults are allowed at the special tea for little girls, don't quite remember the name, something like "my special princess tea", then it would be even better), or just some shopping in the girls things!

Of course the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique would be something fun, but it's really pricey and the twin brother could find the attention level put on his sister a little unfair... ;)

Maybe it'll give you an idea!

Update on what has been checked off or partially checked off...

I will for sure find sometime for just her and I...have to think of something special, we will be riding TMRR alone, but hope for something more too. For crafts, ok my first thought is find just some basic animal stickers (maybe even some trees or rocks), then buy someplain colored papers in tan, green, even blue. You can pre tear the papers and then have a larger solid peice of contruction paper. Now have the kids design jungle themes with the stickers and papers the torn paper can be grass, trails, rivers...wnat to make it last by self laminating paper and turn them into placemats. Or buy some foam doorhanger shapes and some foam self sticking animals shapes or faces and have kids decorate those. anything work for you? And I'm pretty sure from OTC you can get animal print small baggies that you could fill with goodies and use fabric paint to write each kids name on. Hope that helps.

Thanks all for reading. Hope to make some posts tomorrow.

MouseScrapper (J-) :tink:

Well, it's another Monday, start of another week...but hey each Monday now is one more Monday closer till we leave, right? And I've got 5 Monday mornings left to endure till we leave. That should keep me motivated and up in the morning.

And with those 5 Mondays I hope to get all the major posts I hope to do for the remainder of this PTR. Today’s topic is all about Michael.

As you know the names I use for my kids our their middle names, and Michael is for my DH’s late brother. You also know that Michael has
ADHD & AS. Before we get to Michael’s TOP 5 & my wishes, let me tell you some more about my amazing son!

If you were to ask me to say 1 word about him, the 1st thought would be IMAGINATION! :smickey:

If you were to ask me what one activity he enjoys the most without hesitation I’d say READING! :coffee: (ok that's a cup of hot chocolate)

100_1148-1.jpg

This is his bookshelf in his room, jammed packed with books. And on his dresser are probably another 20 books from the library. This boy loves to read. One evening at dinner we were talking about something, which now I can’t recall, and he said something quite interesting. I replied “how do you know all that stuff?” he says “Mom, I read” like duh?

He’s learned a ton of interesting facts about Disney World over the last 9 months too, through his PassPorter Treasure Hunt book and reading this fun book

100_1149.jpg

Maybe in homage to Kathy RN’s TR with her quotes, I’ll quote a famous or not so famous trivia bit about WDW through the eyes and reading of Michael…

Besides reading he really likes TOY STORY. Oh yes, he’s been Buzz & Woody for Halloween, has quite an extensive collection of TS items, and in our old house DH and I painted his bedroom just like Andy’s in the 2nd movie.

100_1143.jpg

100_1144.jpg

100_1145.jpg

Natesoldroom.jpg
(this is from when we moved...have to find a better picture)

He LOVES animals and probably AK will be his overall favorite park. The picture below is a giant safari mural DH put on his wall in his bedroom.

100_1150.jpg

One other huge love of his is collecting rocks & “treasure”, he has quite the collection with that Pirates pirate: and POC are very cool. This is the sign that hangs outside his bedroom door. (we’re all extremely bummed about POC being shut for rehab when were there :sad2: )

100_1152.jpg

Here are a few pic’s of him in 05 on our last trip!

100_0939.jpg

100_1211.jpg

100_1259.jpg

100_1289-1.jpg

Now to his TOP 5!

1) ride TOY STORY MANIA

2) go to the Laugh Factory :magnify: :rotfl2:

3) ride Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster

4) get Stitch’s autograph

5) go to Italy in the World Showcase…he’s very cross-cultural

he also hope to find a CM who’s all into Stitch and his Cousins. He has a picture he wants to bring with to see if he can find out ALL the Cousins names

My wishes :genie: for him are:

· I’m not going say we get through the whole 8 days w/out a single meltdown, but that even if things don’t go quite right…we can work thru it and we don’t have some moment that just well wrecks what’s coming :scared:

· I hope my own expectations don’t make him or me too tense and we just all have fun!!!:thumbsup2

· I hope the guidebook and our TPTP will work well for him and make him feel prepared for the trip and still have the flexibility to enjoy the unexpected things.

· I hope we find some special Disney Magic moments for him pixiedust: . As well I hope the night at the NC at the Poly and his GA Pirate Cruise go super well!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed this latest TOP 5 installment and getting to know a little more about Michael.

MouseScrapper (J-)

That's a great book that Michael has!

Happy 1/1/1 ticker day!

Hey! I remember Tricia reading that book a few years back... it was fun!

The List of Lists really cracked me up... :rotfl: ...and served to further elevate you in my esteem....Let's hear it for all the SuperMoms out there!!!

Will post more soon.... just trying to catch up a bit on everyone else's reports before I hunker down to work on my own!

Kathy

Thanks Hedy and Kathy RN for stopping by and saying :wave2:

Yes the book is quite popular, he's read it about 3 times already...."hey Mom, di you know **** happened at WDW on ***date?"

hope maybe Aldine will want to read it before we go too...and it's coming with us too.

PS also Hedy, Aldine says :thanks: about Felicity.

Now looky here what did I get in the mail yesterday???

:wave2: jenna WELCome to my PTR...glad you stopped by and said hi too.

Awsome on the adult only trip...DH and I thought of doing that for our 10 yr anniversary, but instead I was pregnant with Margaret and we bought a new home....

It'd be so fun to see & meet you, let me know if any of our days match up!

Thanks for the sweet comment about my family and here's hoping you have a pixiedust: magical trip too!

Ps just noticed your weeding date...we were married too in 96 (7-20) Happy almost 12 years!

Happy May Day everyone! Did you all take a dance around the may pole yet? Whee!

My countdown is getting smaller and smaller…down to 34 days NOW! :woohoo:

And if you didn’t think my List of Lists could get any longer I keep thinking of more things to do… So here’s hoping I can make today a very successful check-off the list day!!

Let’s talk more TPTP as I reveal Day 4) of my trip. It’s Sunday and we’re off to see the Hollywood Lights….

DISNEY HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: “May the Force be with You” Day :chewy:

This will be the first Star Wars Weekend in June and here’s hoping the crowds won’t be too insane. DH and my DMom are huge SW fans, and yes I have seen all 6 movies multiple times. When Lucas re-released Episode 4 to the cinema, DH and I went with friends to go see it. We stood in one mega huge line and waited quite sometime to get in the theatre. But it was so worth it, as I’d never seen it before on the big-screen it was AWESOME. Everyone cheered during the good parts and booed at Darth Vader. There were even a few fun fans dressed up. DH and I even dressed up the twins on their first Halloween (6 months old) as Luke and Lei Skywalker, oh yes she had the hair buns too.

100_1158-1.jpg

(sorry a bit blury, our scanner isn't hooked up so I had to take a picture of it in their baby scrapbook)

So we thought it should be a must to go to DHS at least once during SWW since we’d be there when it’s going on…now we don’t plan to partake in all the festivities but have a small list of tries. Here’s hoping the FORCE will be with us :ewok:

Before I get to the Reveal of our TPTP for this day, here are a few pictures from our last trip in 2005:

The plan is to arrive at rope drop 8:30/8:45 am (though I’ve heard of crazy people actually arriving way earlier than that!)

We’ll have ½ our brfast in our room and then grab some cinnamon rolls or such at the Starring Rolls Café as Snack credits for the DDP. I’ll beeline over to the thrills and pick 1 of the 2 to ride now (hoping ToT) as DH goes to Toy Story Mania w/ our KTTW and gets FP’s for all if available or this may be a GAC need…

Also not sure exactly when, but we are planning a DISMeet with another family this day…will give those details later.

1) rope drop

2) “2nd breakfast” at SRC & Me ToT solo

3) TSM

4) Maybe Journey into Narnia (in between/waiting option)

5) Voyage of the Little Mermaid

6) Should have about 1 ½ hours here before our lunch ADR so this will
be SWW time…autographs, morning parade etc.

7) Try and take Aldine/Mae to see the HSM pep rally (think around
10:45 am)

8) Lunch ADR (11:45 am) at Hollywood & Vine w/ Playhouse Disney pals

9) Immediately afterwards thought is to SPLIT and some go see Indiana
Jones Stunt Show and others go see Beauty & the Beast Show OR
we may just all stay for IJSS (show times 2:00 pm each)

10) Then immediately go claim space for the 3:00 pm afternoon Block
Party Parade. (this will be a tight squeeze so 1 adult may exit show
early and get spot ahead of time…)

11) More open time in the plan: more SWW things, Disney character
sightings, and/or TGMR

12) Dinner time! At Pizza Planet and a little arcade time for Michael.
After this we’ll head back out to the Poly for a break/rest. If all goes
well I hope to be leaving DHS no later than 5:00 pm.

Now for our evening PLANS:

After a nice rest, we plan to take a bus over to Blizzard Beach and go mini golfing at WINTER SUMMERLAND! Using our free vouchers from our trip package. We have always wanted to go mini-golfing at WDW but it has never worked out. So we hope the weather will cooperate and this will be a great fun and relaxing way to finish off Day 4)

FYI, we currently have in the plans to finish off DHS (stuff we were going to do on the original day 1) at the tail end of our main full rest day 2 days later on Day 6) more to be revealed later.

Thanks,

Hi J! Nice plans for DHS - I'll be curious to hear about the crowds. I'm excited that you get to ride Toy Story Mania! Take lots of pictures if you can. I love that picture of the twins in the SW Halloween costumes! So cute! :goodvibes Amy

PS - I think that's the first picture we've seen of you! Thanks for revealing yourself. It's nice to have a face to put with the name. I'll be making my debut at the beginning of day 3 in my TR.

Great plans-I was actually pretty impressed by the HSM pep rally (my mother and I took the boys (12 and 8) to HSM on ice, so I thought the education was important to her.) :lmao: :lmao:

If you're doing the Photopass CD, they have a photographer with some HSM props you can pose with.
