The Great DDP Debate
PTR Post # 7
Part Two our decision and plan of consumption
Well, I figure since September is almost mid-way thru (Can you believe that???

) I best get under way on the Big Sept. Post.
For those of you new to my little PTR land, just a little recap:
You have me: Mousescrapper, the official cruise director of this little trip (OK so we're not going on a cruise, but I do often have the picture of "Julie" from the Love Boat in my head when I get down to planning. Now I'm not complaining I happen to love family trips, vacations, weekends away, etc. AND I love to plan and prepare, make lists, and imerse myself in it all.
AND by far the funnest trips to plan are those to
Walt Disney World
Now especially in regards to the upcoming trip in June of 2008 I am having even more fun, because of finally discovering the
DISboards
So you maybe thinking, what have I been living under a rock, in a hole...no sorry. But I'm here now!
So I started this pre-trippie basically 10 months out--"my pregnancy PTR" as some may like to refer to it as....
you know who you are.
Like I said I love to plan, and well one must plan when going to the World, so that's what I'm happily doing, ok maybe happily obsessivly doing, but neverless PLAN AWAY!
To help me in my quest to plan the hopeful great WDW trip for our family I was inspired by you guys to create a trip planner/binder:
(sorry it's a little fuzzy, I'll try and scan it in the computer and re-past another day.)
Inside my wonderful binder I break it down into several catergories including the DDP,
where I have pages to jot down the days' Park Tour Plan and our B, L, D, and possible S options for each day and where to write down my ADR #'s as applicable. As well as, I have menus printed out from the unofficial site to help us peruse what we could eat in advance if we so choose. ***This is extremely helpful for DS as he thrives on structure and having some firm ideas of what's ahead...we'll use these more when it get really close.
Back in Post #3 of this PTR I mentioned my (our) debate on whether to add the DDP and do a package on this trip. I hinted in the BIG August Post, that I booked our ressie at the Poly with it. So here is the break down:
So after doing the famous fuzzy Disney math

several times over, looking thru menus and researching online and having an ongoing list already in my head, asking others in my pary where they'd like to eat, talking over $$ matters with DM (THANKS to her) AND coming up with a park tour plan (but that's for a different post) I think I have a pretty good plan of where we'd like to eat and how to ultilize our 8 days of dinning on the DDP.
Day One: 'Arrival day--We're HERE!'
B: at airport
L: or more like a snack at
Captian Cook's at the Poly (pay out of pocket)
D: Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano at MGM (TS #1)
Day Two: 'Bring on the Animals "AHHH...AHHHHH!" (think Tarzan call)'
B: Captain Cook's/Kona Island at Poly (pop) we also plan to keep some, juice, milk etc in the room for bfast options.
L: Flame Tree BBQ (Alternate Pizzafari) CS #1
D: 2 thoughts a) pop at
Captain Cook's at Poly for 1/2 our party
or b) use package free voucher at
Planet Hollywood at DTD The 3 older kids will hopefully be at the Neverland Club for dinner, etc. Do we have enough time to get to DTD and back in our possible 3 hr window?
Day Three: 'Pack it In Day'
B: Crystal Palace at MK TS #2
L: various at MK try and use some snack credits
D: A CS TBD at Epcot, thinking
Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Lotus Blossom Cafe, and/or Tangerine Cafe CS # 2
Day Four: "May the Force or lack of Crowds be with You Day'
B: Starring Rolls at MGM using Snack credits
L: Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine-Character meal at MGM TS# 3
D: Pizza Planet at MGM CS #3 (thinking since there is no kid's menu here, were going to try and share meals 3 or 4 between the 6 of us, one's a toddler. I know it's techinally against Diz law...but you won't tell

)
Day Five: 'Got Comfy Shoes on? Day'
B: O'Hana Character Brunch at the Poly TS #4
L: more just a snack at
Captian Cook's (man I hope this place is good, as we'll be eating there alot) use the leftover CS credits (1-2) from
Pizza Planet
D: Cantiana de san Angel at Epcot CS #4
Day Six: 'Beauty Rest Day'
B: Kona Cafe at Poly (TONGA, TONGA, TOGA...whoops) TS #5
L: hungry? snacks? at
Captian Cook's at Poly older DD's having lunch with their Grand Adventure today, rest of us....dare I say play it by ear (Where's the 'big ear smiley' when I need it?) May eat something at DTD too??
D: 1900 Park Fare- Cinderella's Gala Feast TS# 6
Day Seven: "It's a Mickey-World after All Day'
B: Main Street Bakery at MK snack credits
L: Tony's Town Square Restaurant at MK TS #7 (do you the Lady & Tramp love song in your head

?)
D: Columbia Harbour House at MK CS #5
Day Eight: 'Departure Day--No, no I don't want to go....'
B: Captian Cook's/Kona Island at Poly CS #6
L: snacks as needed for some good 'ol
Captian Cook's...DS having lunch with his Pirate Cruise today
D: Electric Umbrella Restaurant at Epcot CS #7
So there you have it. What do you think?

Love some feed back. Still have a little tweaking to do in there possibly, but pretty firm on the TS's and most CS's. If your wondering why so many afternoon lunches/snacks at Captian Cook's...well as you'll see in upcoming posts, we plan to take several mid-day breaks at the Poly, and that's kinda our only choice....
Any now as we're almost hitting the 'midnight hour' here in Chicago land...hope my
Cubbies are still in first place, didn't get a chance to watch the game tonight (sorry St. Louis or Brewers fans...NOT

JK)
and for the final note of the night had to leave you with this:
AT THE BALL!
