We may have to revamp our plans for the cruise. I went to the gym today and Cole was not happy in the kid's area. They called me to get him after about thirty minutes. I don't know how long he will stay in Flounder's onboard. You'd think there was velcro between us when I try and put him down. He is at the clingy stage. Also, it took him forever (20 months!) to say Mama. He was saying the dog's name before mine! Now he won't stop though! So, we may have to scrap doing the Villas Spa and 12 Metre Regatta. I am not giving up Palo! I NEED at least one peaceful meal onboard! Calgon or rather Castaway Cay take me away!

Hehehe, Ryan will turn 2 on the cruise, and for a couple of months now he says "Thank you papa" to anyone who does something for him. If Cindy gets him a cup of milk, he will say "Thank you papa". If Grandma picks him up when he falls, he says "Thank you papa." So far no amount of work has changed that. He just started Day Care again, and has been a little rough at drop off in the morning, but once Cindy leaves, the staff says he is fine for the rest of the day.

They say "He is VERY smart... we have to watch what we say around him because he understands us!" I guess he was playing with some toy in the morning, and when Cindy came to pick him up in the evening, the teacher couldn't find the toy. Cindy told her to ask Ryan where it is. She said "No way, it's been hours since he has played with it." And Cindy turned to Ryan and asked where the toy was, and Ryan walked around the corner and picked up the toy and put it away. His first day at school he got out of the highchair after he was done eating all by himself. I picked him up that night, and the teacher said "We call him Houdini, because he some how got out of the buckles in the high chair, and got down in the 20 seconds I turned away." I said "That's why we have a 5 point harness on his chair at home "

I told DH we NEED to pay in full TODAY so I can make our reservations at Midnight on Sunday... He rolled his eyes at me and I got a "Yes Dear"



Oh and By the way... We ARE paid in Full..

I drove past our TA's office today, and decided to stop and pay the final $1000, so we're paid in full as well. Since this is our first cruise, and we're in a Cat 6 and Cat 11, we can't start booking until the 24th, but that's ok. I'll be ready when the time comes!

Hi to all! Thinking about switching to this cruise-we just booked the Magic for 1/26/08. I won't be able to switch for certain till Oct.4; because we're getting a bonus on the 4th. The rates are sooo great for this sailing and I want to see the ship decorated for the Holidays! We are me (angel) 36,DH (donald) 48, Frankie 6, and Dominic 2-he'll be 3 on the 30th of dec. So-you guys sound like a fun group! We have sailed the Wonder 3 times;but never the Magic! And has anyone heard from Flagger lately? He is a regular venerable fountain of wisdom on the cruisecritic royal carribean site. Take care all! Angel

I'm hoping that is true. Because, that is when we plan to go to Europe. So, it would work out perfectly for us! Now another trip to budget in! I'm killing Bill with all these plans. If we did Europe, we already talked about doing the westbound transatlantic in conjunction with the cruise. I guess our kitchen renovations can be put off for one more year. The kids are only this young once! Before we know it, they'll be grown and want nothing to do with us. - Jennifer

PS- We may take a side trip to Brussels to vist my friend that still lives there and to eat some yummy frites and waffles. I've had a hard time describing the Begian waffles to Bill. He just has to try one to see what all the fuss is about.

Don't give up hope!! I'm sure that the CMs in Flounders try a lot harder to make the kids comfortable than a childcare center in a gym (which I think is a WONDERFUL idea btw.) We haven't used Flounders, but here's what I'd suggest:

1. Make a big deal about the other kids going to their kids clubs. You can download Navigators and start talking about all the different activities they'll be able to do. Tell Cole he won't be able to go to the big kids club, but they might have a special club for him

2. When you get onboard go to Flounders and tell the CMs you'd like to take a tour with Cole

3. As soon as he starts looking interested in the toys, tell him you have to go now but MAYBE if he's good he can go to "his" kids club later on.

4. Schedule his first time at Flounders during a time when you are just going to be relaxing at the adult pool. That way you won't be stressed about him staying when you drop him off.

5. When you pick him up make a big deal about him going to the club like the big kids do.


All kids are different, so tailor as you see fit. But you get the drift. Just my suggestions...

I have been trying to pull up my ressie on DCL site, just to be sure I am set for tonight. I cannot get it to come up, but I also get no error message of any kind. It just sits and "thinks". We have tried both on our dial up and on DrHug's Verizon link with his Palm. Hopefully it is just that the website is down for right now. Has anyone else checked it out this morning?

I just called DCL reservations and spoke to Eric - VERY nice and helpful by the way!

He said the IT dept had just sent an Email to the reservations agents to let them know that they are having trouble with the site. He said he would expect them to have it fixed within an hour or two at the latest.

We are getting the same thing. I called DCL and they said they had recently been notified that the site was having issues and that the IT group was working on it. She said once they are notified, the problem is usually resolved in an hour or so. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
