We are booked for the Canal WB in May and plan to rebook onboard for Jan 2009. We LOVE early Dec cruises but we have DIS friends that cannot sail in Dec and we want to join them in Jan.

You are so lucky to be on one of the Panama Canal cruises. We want to come too! We tried and tried with no luck. I have been advised to re-check or have our TA check in May for the Eastbound cruise (that is the one we wanted since we are already booked on the cruise right after it.). Some people may not make their final payments or their plans change. I know there is a wait list, but there is always a "slight" chance we could get onboard. We'll see.

Thank you to everyone for all your warm wishes on our new family member. They named him Preston.

It is fun having a new baby around and it's not ours! We can leave the crying baby and head to our "somewhat" peaceful home. Now I know how grandparents feel. We have been blessed that all our children slept through the night by one month. I have just one sister and she already had one son. So, it will be fun to have another nephew to spoil.

My sis (Pat who is sailing with us) brought the pies for Thanksgiving many years ago. She got the frozen ones, then burned them! We have since requested that she bring the fruit salad, I bake the pies.

At least I am not bad! But, I do have to remember to put foil on the crust near the end of the cooking time or I would have burned many pies too.

My sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Friday. He was 5 lbs 11 oz. Mother and son are home and doing fine. He is such a cutie. I assured Bill though that I don't have "baby fever". Three is my limit! (this smiley perfectly suits them, always on the go!) - Jennifer

I noticed on your signature that you leave in 16 days for your Wonder cruise WITHOUT THE KIDS. Lucky you! Wish we were going with you! I know you will have a great time! Swing on a hammock for us on CC. Soon we'll all be there too. Bon Voyage!

I had my request in to DU before the first booking day. They were able to get a cabin for us. I am sure there will be cancelations when the final payments are due....the price is just so much higher than they were that first day. We have had several people join the thread for the WB who are just now booking, so they must be having cancelations and working off that wait list now. I spent the entire day on the internet watching the Magic go thru the Canal the first trip and I vowed that if it went again we would be on it! As soon as we heard it was going I sent a request to DU.

Now I do this just the opposite of you ladies. I have a metal ring that goes over the edge of the crust that I put on when I put the pie in the oven and then I set the timer to take it off 15 min before the pie is done.

I have a spreadsheet with all our desired excursions, Palo dinner and brunch, Flounder's hours and Vista Spa. So, you could say I am little anxious for Saturday night. - Jennifer

Do you use DU for all your Disney cruises? We never imagined it would have booked up as fast as it did. We were shocked. Now we know for next time.

Speaking of "pie talk". . . Bill asked me in passing if I was on the DISboards today and if I saw his post. So, I may just have to make a trip out tomorrow to get an apple pie and vanilla ice cream. He just finished writing all his employees' reviews. So, he needs a nice treat/reward. Also, Will doesn't have football practice tomorrow night. Usually, Bill comes in from work, has a snack and then takes will to practice. Tomorrow night should be a mellow night. - Jennifer

Yup Yup

DS (17) is OK with not going ONLY because he has plans for the weekend, while we are gone..

The other couple we are going with have 6 kids and they are younger then our DS.. THEY are the ones who have the problem with Mom & Dad leaving them with Grandma & Grandpa.. especially since it is Dad's Birthday and he will be on a Disney Cruise and they will be in school

You can get the pie rings at the kitchen stores at the outlet malls. They are just so much easier to use than the foil. They just sit on top and they don't cost but a couple of dollars.

7 more working days until our vacation. I really need time away. A migraine started at lunch time. That is my signal that I am pushing too hard to get everything done. Hopefully I can make it through this day. The other secretary hasn't worked a full day or week since last September. (Her husband is ill) I really need a break.
