Thanks everyone for all the welcome's this really sounds like a fun group. Special thanks to JsMom2 for consolidating all of the information - this is quite a long thread to read through.

And one more! pirate: pirate: 1000! :woohoo:

Angie,
Please explain how the pirate thing works:confused3

Oh, and when you're booking your rental cars, check out the discount codes on mousesavers.com.

Just be glad we're only at 1000 posts. I joined the thread for my Med cruise a few weeks before sailing. They'd been posting for over a year, and the thread was 255 pages long!!

And yes, I think we are a fun group too! :woohoo: :cool1:

 I have a very thoughtful and wonderful husband! For my birthday (yesterday), he made my "annual" cheesecake (birthday cake).:cake: It was YUMMY!

:tinker: Jennifer

Jennifer,
I was so excited about you living in Brussels and going to BAS, that I forgot to wish you a
:bday: party:

Glad your DH is taking good care of you

Oh that silliness started a few years ago on the 10 Day Dec 2004 thread. We all tried to be the one to post the 100's posts, then there got to be so many of those that we just tried for the 1000's. Then the 10,000's became a really prized post! So the person that "stole" those posts was a good pirate.pirate: AAARRR! Some of us from that thread have carried that little contest forward to other threads. Brack and I were in great competition on the Dec Double Dip Geek thread last year. That thread still has the most posts of any, I think. Anyway, the tradition goes on and I am a proud pirate: to have snagged number 1000 on this thread. :thumbsup2 Wanna give it a go for number 2000? ;)

I have to warn you, my job is VERY slow in the summertime:goodvibes

I'll try for the next 100 just to get myself warmed up.:surfweb:

I figured out what you were doing at about as I was reading your posts:rotfl2: , but wasn't sure if the Pirate was something that appears automatically in the thread (like the tags). So it sounds like I earn the right to insert a pirate: if I post #1100 is that right?

I can't wait to see you all with a couple of sail a way drinks in you! :dance3:

Wendy

I had the honor of being the 1000th post on a Pop Century thread a while back. I had a lot more time on my hands then:rotfl:! Now I'm swamped at work (am getting a big promotion in a couple of weeks which will mean even more work), we've bought a house which is really a fixer-upper, and I have some business travel coming up. However, I will be practicing for those "sail away drinks" every chance I get!

:lmao: :lmao: That's right, you have to earn the pirate: You have to watch for that scurvy Brack though. You will be posting $1099 and he will swoop in and steal the booty! Or there may be other pirates lurking :rolleyes1

We received a cruise packet yesterday form DCL...did everyone else get one? Our friends also received it yesterday.:cheer2:

We sure are! We live in Everberg (about 5 min east of Sterrebeek). I'm stationed at NATO right now and my DD just finished 3rd grade at BAS. You and Jasmine can compare notes on BAS and I'll definitely be bringing some Belgian chocolate for the Fish Extenders/Stockings. :woohoo:
I remember seeing signs for Everberg. It is a small world! Jasmine is very lucky to be attending BAS. Living abroad and attending BAS brought the students closer together. We were like one big family. I loved traveling with the sports teams to the other countries to play the other schools. Where else can you do that? It was an amazing experience. I can't wait for the yummy Belgian chocolate.:cool1: The Godiva/Neuhaus chocolate in the states is actually made in New York, I think. So, it doesn't have the sugar beet flavor. (I put sugar cane earlier, that is what they use here in the states. I am backwards today!).

Angie:
:cheer2: Congratulations on being the 1000th post on this thread.:cheer2:
You are too funny with all your posts to reach 1000. You are persistent like my husband. We have a few months to go. Think we can reach 2000 with all the new cruisers? Lets try!:cool1:

I was going to post a picture of some "Fluff" but I like this better .....

This gave me the biggest chuckle! Thank you Brack!:thumbsup2

No, we did not. What's in it? We also haven't paid in full yet, we will be doing so by Aug 1, so might that be why?

We haven't made our final payment yet either. It contains info regarding excursions, in room gifts, tux rental, etc. This is the first time we are receiving this packet before the documents arrive. We haven't cruised since 2004.

Hopefully the fact that I'm 6-9 hours ahead of you all will work FOR me rather than against me. I can't imagine sitting up all night :surfweb: working to get that last post. I'm still laughing over yours Angie:lmao:

Be glad we're cruising in December, I'd be afraid to try bring it in the summertime:banana:

It sounds like what they sent out to us before the Med cruise. I thought it was something they sent to give folks a warm fuzzy about traveling to Europe - and to keep the excitement up since most of the folks booked over a year out. Guess they'll be sending them for all the cruises, because we're just THAT special!! :cheer2:

2000 posts should be a piece of cake! Here in the US we have Labor Day weekend, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving when people will be able to dedicate a lot more time to DISing--at least I will! Except that I just found out that our governor took away the day after. Thanksgiving as a holiday, so no four-day weekend for me then:mad:. I would hope that we reach at least 2000 posts before October! We're all starting to get excited, especially if DCL is starting to mail out packages. We didn't get one (yet). But, I just got my Castaway Club stuff last month--and our first cruise was in May 2001!

I promise to do my part to bring us up to as many posts as we can manage.

Beth

I just checked our mailbox, no DCL packet for us today.:sad2: I remember receiving something like you mentioned last year for our cruise. It is always exciting to get any mail from Disney! I'll keep my eyes open for it. :rolleyes1

We got our DCL packet today! :woohoo: I tell you, we just get so excited when we get any kind of Disney mail. :dance3: We really are pathetic! :sad2: Since we can book excursions at 90 days, it is really helpful to see what is available and how much they all cost. I have to go study it now. :)
