Have any of you been effected by recent weather? flood and tornados? I heard bad conditions in Chicago and in Texas. We have had a ton of rain since last night but North Jersey has it alot worse then us.
Just hope all the Dis'ers are ok.
We live in Corinth, Texas, near Denton. We had horrible weather this past Tuesday, horrible is an understatement. I went to pick-up DS7 from school and the clouds really started to roll in. I got him just in time before all the teachers and kids had to run back inside the school to "duck and cover" (a tornado drill).

We had rain all day and night with thunder, lightning and strong winds. We had
over 8 inches of rain. Everyones rain gauges overflowed. So, we don't have an exact account. Our pool almost overflowed. It has a built in system to drain when it gets too high, but the rain was continuous. So, it didn't have enough time to pump out the water. After everything died down, about midnight, I went outside to check the pool. We had
less than an inch before the water was going to start flowing over.
It was a crazy night! The power went out a few times and the weather people kept telling us to get in the closet. We were at the crossroads of two storms that decided to meet up right where we live. I have never in my life seen so much wind and rain. It looked like a hurricane. I use to live in MA and remember a couple of hurricanes from when I was younger. These winds were just as strong. We had all the kids and dog in our room that night. DS7 slept in our closet. He was so cute.

The town north of us, Denton, had a lot of flooding. You may have seen it on the news. We got all the same rain they did. I took a back road yesterday and there was still water in the road at the bottom of some hills. All was back to normal on Wednesday.

That is the chance we take living in Texas and so close to Oklahoma and "Tornado Alley". Personally, I am more scared of poisonous snakes in Texas than tornados. We keep finding snakes in our backyard. They are building some new houses behind us and the wild life from there has found its way into our backyard. So, far no poisonous snakes. But, it still gives me the heeby jeebies(spelling?).
I can't stand snakes!
