Hi how is everyone?

The weather here in PA is not great today. We have had tons of rain the past two days. We live outside Philly. Anyone close??

dd and I decided the other day that we are "Mouse sick"! It has been a year since our last DCL or WDW visit. What were we thinking booking 18 months in advance??? :confused3

We have downpours today too :guilty: We had thunder last night and earlier this morning. I have to leave soon too I'm hoping it slows down so I'm not a drown rat

Have any of you been effected by recent weather? flood and tornados? I heard bad conditions in Chicago and in Texas. We have had a ton of rain since last night but North Jersey has it alot worse then us.

Just hope all the Dis'ers are ok. :grouphug:

We're fine. We live northwest of Chicago (near Arlington International Race Track). We had some rain yesterday but nothing like they had south of the city. That area seems to be hit often. Last Sunday was the 40th anniversary of a killer tornado that hit Oak Lawn and neighboring areas. The high school was in the path of that tornado. Plainfield has also been hit by tornadoes. My husband's childhood friend lived in Plainfield and lost everything several years ago.

I have a friend who lives in Macomb and his parents live in Chicago

And we have a friend who lives in Brick, New Jersey. We are going to visit him in August.

And our son graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb.

I had a really heavy rain last night but not any bad results. It is a lot quieter than when we lived in OK!

We live in Corinth, Texas, near Denton. We had horrible weather this past Tuesday, horrible is an understatement. I went to pick-up DS7 from school and the clouds really started to roll in. I got him just in time before all the teachers and kids had to run back inside the school to "duck and cover" (a tornado drill). :scared: We had rain all day and night with thunder, lightning and strong winds. We had over 8 inches of rain. Everyones rain gauges overflowed. So, we don't have an exact account. Our pool almost overflowed. It has a built in system to drain when it gets too high, but the rain was continuous. So, it didn't have enough time to pump out the water. After everything died down, about midnight, I went outside to check the pool. We had less than an inch before the water was going to start flowing over. It was a crazy night! The power went out a few times and the weather people kept telling us to get in the closet. We were at the crossroads of two storms that decided to meet up right where we live. I have never in my life seen so much wind and rain. It looked like a hurricane. I use to live in MA and remember a couple of hurricanes from when I was younger. These winds were just as strong. We had all the kids and dog in our room that night. DS7 slept in our closet. He was so cute. The town north of us, Denton, had a lot of flooding. You may have seen it on the news. We got all the same rain they did. I took a back road yesterday and there was still water in the road at the bottom of some hills. All was back to normal on Wednesday.:thumbsup2 That is the chance we take living in Texas and so close to Oklahoma and "Tornado Alley". Personally, I am more scared of poisonous snakes in Texas than tornados. We keep finding snakes in our backyard. They are building some new houses behind us and the wild life from there has found its way into our backyard. So, far no poisonous snakes. But, it still gives me the heeby jeebies(spelling?). I can't stand snakes! - Jennifer

I don't like snakes either. They give me the creeps.
I am sorry you had such terrible storms. Does that hasppen all summer long or is it usualy a spring thing? I hate when I see the sky all green.

And we have a friend who lives in Brick, New Jersey. We are going to visit him in August.

I'd tell you to stop on by but we are going to be in Florida in August. We are coming back for a Mets Baseball game with a group of friends and family for 8/25.

Our closing is June 13th and I can't wait. DS & I are going down after he is out of school for the Summer. DH will come down when he can to help set up the house.

It's a 2nd home for us. We can watch the MK fireworks from our porch. The site was amazing!!!

Spring is usually the worse here in Texas in regards to tornados and floods. We needed the recent rain. We are in a drought. The summers are just HOT!:cool2: It is not a nice warm and breezy hot. It is a stiff and muggy air hot. Everyone goes from air conditioned house, to air conditioned car, to air conditioned store. Thank goodness we have a swimming pool. However, by late afternoon in the summer, the pool is even warm. We had one really bad snow/ice day this year. We do have pretty mild Fall and Winter months. So, I can't complain too much. It all evens out in the end.:goodvibes - Jennifer

Wow, enjoy the house and the fireworks. Sounds very nice.

Where in Texas are you? Are you near the coast where you have to worry about hurricanes in late summer and early fall?
We were at Disney for a hurricane a few years ago. We were on lock down in our room for about 32 hours. It was Hurricane Jeanne. Reminded us of some of our storms here except we get thunder and lightning with our rain.

SNAKES!! EWWWWWWW

Our weather has been quite nice for the last few days. We even had sun here on the coast yesterday! :cool1: Today it is supposed to be sunny still in Portland most of the day, but overcast here on the coast. My mom and I were saying this morning that we are glad we walked on the beach and took our "outings" yesterday. This afternoon we plan to just stroll into some of the local "beachy" shops along the highway.

I remember the hurricanes from when I lived in Massachusetts. Currently, we live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. So, we don't live near an ocean just lakes. - Jennifer

DD4princess: is going to be so happy. I just bought tickets to the Gwen Stefani concert in Dallas next weekend. Every time a GS song comes on the radio, she is in the backseat singing. It is cute. Has anyone ever printed their tickets online before through Ticketmaster? It is great. I just did it with these tickets and for our RB&B circus tickets last summer. I love technology! - Jennifer

Just checking in. We are traveling from Charleston, WV back home to Baltimore. DW is driving and I'm posting on the DIS! :surfweb:

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are jumping ship and moving over to the 11/10/07 Eastern. With the kids school schedule next year I found out that we can take 1 week for the cruise and a week at my Mom's in Venice, FL and the kids will actually miss less school. Hope you all have a great trip and maybe we will meet up again. I will miss the Secret Santa, I had been thinking of all of the different things that we could bring.

Linda
