:wave2: Hello all! Just checking in. We've had awful weather here the past few days. We've had a lot of rain with thunder and lightning storms. Also, we have a tornado "watch" this evening until 1 AM. DS6 and DD4 asked if they had to get in the closet again. Last year, we had a really bad storm with a tornado "warning". DH just happened to be away on business that week. Lucky me was alone with three scared children and a hyper dog. So, I piled DS6, DD4, DS1 and the dog into our master bathroom closet. They were VERY comfortable with pillows and blankets. It was a site! Luckily, the tornado went north of us. So, we may be in the closet again this evening. We'll see. Everyone have a great weekend. We will be busy on Saturday putting in a patio near our pool. We already have pool decking and a patio off the backdoor. But, we want space in the back area for some adirondack chairs and a hammock. Also, we are planting two palm trees that we already purchased. However, they are still in the pots in the backyard. We need to get the patio finished first. We are trying to create a backyard oasis, until we can get back to CC. - Jennifer

:grouphug: We understand your anxiety. This is our first spring east of "The River" after almost 7 years in OK and 2 in TX. Our DS still lives in Dallas. My DW can tell stories of sitting in our tub during a watch.

Keep safe!

Hope ALL is well !!

Disney was AWESOME.. as always.. We only spent 1 day in the parks and hit 3 of them.. MK, Epcot, MGM.. Didn't have the time for AK this trip..

I think we want to go to Trunk Bay for one excursion. I am not sure on St Marteen what we will do this time. :confused3

We still haven't made up our minds about excursions yet.

We leave next Monday for Phase Two of our Rte 66 adventure. Last year we traveled Rte 66 in Illinois, from Lake Michigan to St Louis, including the Chain of Rocks Bridge. Next week we will be traveling Rte 66 in Missouri and Kansas and maybe into Oklahoma, depending how far we get. We will be celebrating our 42nd anniversary on Tuesday, the 10th.

If you make it to OKC you'll want to see the OKC Bombing Memorial. The Cowboy Museum is pretty cool as well.

Route 66 doesn't have a lot of interesting sights between Tulsa and OKC. The sights start after OKC and into Texas.

Have fun on your roadtrip! We traveled along Route 66 for a little bit on a roadtrip we took a few years ago from Dallas to Las Vegas. - Jennifer

:thumbsup2 All is well here in Texas. We didn't end up getting into the closet on Friday night. We live near a lake, they had a five FEET rise this past week. We are still in a drought, but that sure did help. The weekend couldn't have been more beautiful, sunny and in the 70's. It was in the low 80's yesterday! :cool2: We did a lot of yardwork this past weekend. We put in a patio and planted some palm trees. It was a very productive weekend.:cool1: - Jennifer

I hope you feel better soon. Thursday was a miserable night to be out. I am glad you got home safely. My DH needs to buy some Starbuck's stock. He is addicted! Personally, I don't like coffee but do like their iced black tea and hot chocolate. Yum! Yum! :cloud9: - Jennifer

Thanks everyone for your Rte 66 tips and for your good wishes.

Hope everyone is doing well. Weather has been great but is going to get cold this weekend. :confused3

Just finished planning a mini-trip to WDW this June. We have our seminary graduation in Atlanta so we'll fly to MCO for two days at WDW; Rent a car to drive to Atlanta for the graduation and then go back for two more days at WDW. :woohoo:

I need a vacation soon! :hippie:
