Been there..done that. She gets mad at me and then starts muttering..OMG the things she says. I just ignore them. Most of the time when she is being ummm...'witchy', she will apologize later.

My Mother and I have NEVER got along... When I was 10 I became very bitter.. She opened her Craft Store on my Birthday.. :sad2: and after that.. She always worried about the Anniversary Sales instead of my Birthday.. so I got use to it and moved on.. But we have never been close as far back as I can remember.. :confused3 To me, she always seemed "self absorbed" and treated me and my brother with a distance type of parenting..

DS & I are 100% opposite :goodvibes I love my son more then life itself, and everything I have ever done was with him in mind First.. I guess I was always worried I'd pick up my Mother's bad habbit and I sooooo did Not want that for my son and me

Hi, everybody! I'm back!!

We were moving some furniture yesterday and broke the cable which connected the cable modem. I had to wait until this morning to run out to the store, get a piece of cable, pull all the furniture away from the walls and then repair the cable. However, it worked and that's what I care about! That and the fact that all of my furniture is moved, everything is cleaned, dusted and vacuumed, and I even started some of the holiday decorating!

I'm on my way out now to do my Thanksgiving grocery shopping, but I'll be back. I would be willing to add my cell phone number to a "chain", especially since I will be out of reach of the internet for almost a week before the cruise! I will be online for a little while for two days before, but not long--I have plenty of plans for those two days!

OK, I here the grocery store calling me!

Beth

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

This totally sounds like something my cat would do. Or jump up on the box while I was doing it. Or get in the box and start scratching around. The cat gives me fits and everyone who knows me knows it. :headache:

Oh yea.. and trying to cook, moving around in the kitchen and here comes the cat... SPRAWLED out in the middle of the Kitchen floor!!! :headache: I step on him or trip over him.. and he STILL does it..

Same for me, I didn't get along with either of my parents. But my DD and I are very close. I like the fact that she shares her feelings with me, and tells me stuff that's going on at school, and then promises me to secrecy.

My little cousin use to act terrible to her mother, so I went and bought my Aunt the book "The child called it" told her to give it to her when she was completely out of control hating her and the world.. and when she finished reading the book she realised that the world was not going to end just because she didn't get what she wanted and her mom after all wasn't the worst mom in the world just because she wouldn't buy her the hot new gadget that everyone else had. If anyone hasn't read that book you will see a whole new outlook on life, (make sure you buy plenty of tissue)

Ok, so I have everyone who wants to participate in the Secret Mickey exchange's Info correct?

I'm not sure about Marsha but I can add her in if needed.. Or anyone else that decides last minute to join us..

I think I will set up the list and save it on my computer and print it out Before we leave... It will be easier to add or remove people if needed to do so..

Last night DD was sleeping with me in my room. We were reading for awhile, and when we were done reading, she got up and went to the bathroom. I rolled over to go to sleep. And when she came back she walked right past the lightswitch and went to bed. Then she asked me to get up and turn off the light! I said, no you were the last one to come in.

She says, "well okay, we'll just leave it on then, it won't bother me." I didn't say anything, so next she says, "well you're the one who's going to have to pay the electric bill." Still nothing. "You're the one who's going to have to buy new lightbulbs." Still nothing. Finally, I hear a big sigh, and she says "I can't believe the things you make me do around here." :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've been afraid to read the book, after reading the back cover. In fact, the author came to speak to Grand Forks AFB when I was there. I heard his talk was really inspirational, but I thought it would break my heart to hear about his experiences.

How old was your niece when she read the book?

Yes!! She will watch you walk into a room, go right to the middle and literally fall over and lay there right in the walkway. And it doesn't matter how close you step or how many times you walk around her, she just assumes she's never gonna get stepped on and lays there looking at you like she owns the place. Garr!

:goodvibes

That's what my son and I have.. We are very close and I have always spoken openly with him about everything.. The only way he will learn is to be taught.. I never wanted to "hush hush" when he is around.. As he gets older.. it is the more important issues that I Need him to know about and that he can Trust me and that no matter what stupid mistake he does.. I will Always be here for him and I will always love him.. I explain to him, don't judge people, because you never know what they are going through on the inside that you can't see..

13

I actually have read it several times, when I was going through the hard times with my boys dad, I read it again to make myself realise that it was just a stage in my life and in the end it will make me and my boys a better person...

I was curious... Do we want to start an email chain with Cell Phone numbers? :confused3 This way we can keep in contact on the day we all arrive and trickle in?

Sure, Jasmine's Pay and Go phone should work fine when we get back to the states. As a backup I'll give you our vonage number here. The voicemails will get sent to my email, which I can check on my Belgian phone.
