Well as a former single mom of 2 DS's I did the same thing. My boys didn't meet anyone I was dating for awhile. It's funny, they met current DH right away, cause he was just a friend, and would do me favors. I would feed him in return. We of course eventually started dating. It was funny one afternoon my eldest DS11, says "you two fight as if you were married". DH looks at me and says he is right, lets get married, I am like..WHAT??? He says yeah, we can we drive to, without a ml? I say Vegas, Maryland I think?? He says ok, lets go. I think he is totally joking. I say sure. We tell my mom (who lived with me at the time) and she looks at us and shakes her head. We get into his car, and hop onto the NJTP. As we pass the exit for Great Adventure, I realize he is serious, and have him pull over into the next reststop and we have a talk. I was not going to elope, I had 2 kids to consider. Needless to say the rest is history, we had a real wedding within a year. It is now 12 years and 2 more children later.

If it's traffic you want to avoid try Grafton, WV; they have one stop light!

I know what you mean!! Tina's hometown had the only stoplight in the county for YEARS!!!

:goodvibes Same with our DD who has two children that are biologically not hers, but are her husbands. They are our GKs just like the rest and love her a bunch. They do live with their mom and whoever the step-dad of the month is and DD and DSIL only get them weekends and for some extended visits when school is out. But, they come to DD when they need something because they know she loves them and will do whatever is needed to take care of them.

That's awesome. My parents are the same way with Jacob. They call him on his birthday, treat him exactly as they treat his younger brothers. I'm proud to be their son.

So when are those who are driving getting to the port? DH wants to drop us off and then go park as close to the exit as he can. We have a long 8-9 hour drive back home on the 15th and he does not want to spend an hour of it waiting in a line to get out of the parking lot.
We also have an eight hour drive (usually turns to 10 with all our stops.) My husband drops us off with the luggage, parks and walks across the street. The parking lot is not very big and is very close to the terminal. Everyone seems to gete off the ship at different times so we have never seen a traffic jam. DH will be able to pick the car up and swing around to pick you and luggage up.
We are hoping to get off early and head to the Magic Kingdom.

So by this time in a month, we will be standing around the terminal waiting to board. DD will announce she has to potty and DH will be going around the terminal taking pictures of everything in sight.

WooHOO!! :woohoo:

I'm also thinking, 4 WEEKS from today we should've touched down in Orlando, picked up the rental car and be headed to Canaveral to see the shuttle!! :hyper: The folks who know about our trip, the cruise sounds nice, but everyone's like, whoa, the shuttle, cool. :cool2: If I do get to see it, barring unforseen circumstances, between that and getting on the ship, I am going to be incoherent with excitement by the first Dis meet. :bitelip: :faint:

Shhh! Don't tell...I am more excited about the Shuttle than the ship. I can't believe I just said those words:ssst:

Stacy:

Are you on Comcast by any chance? Besides the slowness here, it was really slow in the office yesterday too.

Beth

Yes, I am on Comcast as well.. The other day all of the Cable was off.. No TV and No Dis', I mean internet.. :scared:

Sounds like a really good man.

When I met my wife, Jacob - her son - was about a year old. His dad was pretty much out of the picture, didn't want to see him, didn't want to take him for visits, that type of thing. He did pay child support. Well, after Cindy and I got married, after about two years of dating, I contacted Jacob's dad and asked if I could adopt Jacob. I told him that he would then not have to pay child support, or cover Jacob on insurance, and that I would never stop the two from seeing each other or being together. He thought about it, and finally said no, so Jacob is still my step son. Jacob has always called me Dad, and his real dad is his "Bruce Dad". Cindy and I have never asked him to call me Dad, he has always done it on his own. Jacob is my son just like his brothers. :)

Awww that is sweet...

My ex was the opposite.. Owed me over $30,000 in back Alimony & Child Support.. I told him to sign the papers and the Bills goes away.. He signed away all rights.. According to probation, nothing from My doing, but my ex still had to pay $12,000 out of the 30.. That money went right into a College account for DS..

However my ex was seeing him every weekend over night.. as DS got older and wanted to go to friends houses and parties the Visits got less and less.. Now the ex lives in AZ.. DS went out there for almost 3 weeks over the Summer..

We had discussed with DS, once and Only once about being adopted.. We told him his name would change but he would still see his "Father" and to think about it.. We never brought it up again, then one day DS came to me and asked.. Do you think Andy will still want to adopt me? :sad1: I said Yes, of course he would, but you need to ask him yourself.. (I wanted to make sure he was 100% sure he wanted to and it left the door open in case he changed his mon).. But, that night DS asked if he wanted to still adopt him, DH said of course more then anything in the world.. Mom cried.. :rolleyes1 After about 4 months.. Ds just started calling him "Dad"..

So his Bio Father is "My Father" and Andy is "My Dad" :cloud9:

Stacy, I love this story! Your DH must be one in a million! DD is a single mom and her kids have been hurt by guys who pretended to to care about them. So sad. Very smart of you to be cautious but so great how it turned out!:thumbsup2

Thank You...

I think I married a Keeper this time :cloud9:

We have Comcast phones, too. I'm usually pleased with the service, but this hasn't been a really good week! I'm lost without my DIS ooops--internet!

He was 9 at the time.. DH kneels infront of me and proposes.. :scared1: DS hands me the ring.. I hugged and kissed him.. then DH.. And I never said yes.. I was sorta teary eyed and choked up.. He said.. Does this mean Yes? :confused3

:rotfl2:

Well... I was just called into work... Apparently 3 people aren't enough to Cover the Rudolph crowds!! :scared1:

Not sure how long I'm working to so I will catch up later

Welcome to all the new cruisers!

Happy birthday a day late to Robbie and Jason!

We are married 42 years. I was 15 and DH was 17 when we met and we still like and love each other.

Our first trip to Disneyland was in 1966 and we have been hooked ever since. I cried the first time I saw DL. We drove for four days all the way from Chicago. What a fun trip it was. 8 days of a two week vacation was spent driving. We loved every minue of it.
