Stacy:
It's long after 4 AM, but still no room number for me!

Good morning--

It's time for this cruise, because the weird dreams are starting to get to me. Last night I dreamed that they had converted all of the rooms that were booked as Cat 12 Gty to real Cat. 12 rooms! The ship looked so ugly with boards over all the verandahs and portholes, too! I was so glad I woke up. At least they let me on the ship, no one cared about the fact that, instead of luggage I had all my things packed in cardboard boxes!

Yep, nothing here either and still nothing for Palo. Pout. And I didn't get enough sleep to justify NO ressies. Pout.

Ok, so this dream--did they make the better rooms less rather than just upgrade people? Like blocking off windows so you'd still have an "inside"?? :rotfl:
Sounds like a really good man.

When I met my wife, Jacob - her son - was about a year old. His dad was pretty much out of the picture, didn't want to see him, didn't want to take him for visits, that type of thing. He did pay child support. Well, after Cindy and I got married, after about two years of dating, I contacted Jacob's dad and asked if I could adopt Jacob. I told him that he would then not have to pay child support, or cover Jacob on insurance, and that I would never stop the two from seeing each other or being together. He thought about it, and finally said no, so Jacob is still my step son. Jacob has always called me Dad, and his real dad is his "Bruce Dad". Cindy and I have never asked him to call me Dad, he has always done it on his own. Jacob is my son just like his brothers. :)

Thank you and Stacy for sharing these stories, they are so wonderful.

So when are those who are driving getting to the port? DH wants to drop us off and then go park as close to the exit as he can. We have a long 8-9 hour drive back home on the 15th and he does not want to spend an hour of it waiting in a line to get out of the parking lot.

Help me out here, experts! :goodvibes: I want to take dd to BBB and get her some "princess fuss". (She still talks about last January, it really was magical for her--at 3 and 4 it's a lot easier to be transformed into a princess, and I'd hate for her to outgrow it too fast!) Anyway...I'm getting nervous about doing it the morning of the cruise and not being able to leave DTD until 10 am...I'd like to reschedule for Friday instead but don't have anything to do with her in her finery. Couldn't get dinner at 1900 Park Faire, and Chef Mickey's, even if I could get it, isn't our favourite. There's no character lunch anywhere outside the parks is there? Maybe we could do BBB first thing on Friday then a late b'fast at Ohana...not "fancy" but we all love Stitch. I suppose we could go back to the GF for afternoon tea (NOT the princess tea), I really want to see their decorations... Not ready to do MVMCP, the kids conk out too early. :confused3

Yes, we are.. DH was actually mad at me.. when we were dating I would keep my son away from him.. I didn't want DS to get attached if I didn't even knew where I was going.. Well DH always tried to include him and I would say No, and he said, well I'm not going anywhere don't you think I have rights.. :confused3 So we went to Miniture Golf and they got along so well.. the rest is History..

DH asked permisson of my son first Before he asked me to marry him..

When he proposed.. he asked if he could marry "us" meanin DS & Me :sad1:

Stacy, I love this story! Your DH must be one in a million! DD is a single mom and her kids have been hurt by guys who pretended to to care about them. So sad. Very smart of you to be cautious but so great how it turned out!:thumbsup2

Count us in too. We booked when the good gty. rates first came out and are waiting for the upgrades. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. We have been on 2 westerns and this will be our first eastern. We are Disney addicts since 1973. We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

Come on upgrades. :dance3: :hourglass

Ok I officially ran out of Disney Christmas Cards  I went through 2 whole boxes full !!! That means 36 cards!!!! 36 Rooms !! And I ran OUT..

I am sorry but some of you, will Only be getting Generic Christmas Cards :sad2:

Wow, that's alot of cards. Well I don't know if I was on your list, but you don't have to worry about me. We don't do Christmas :goodvibes . But thanks for the lovely thought!! :thumbsup2

Welcome! And congratulations on your anniversary! No better way to celebrate than with a DCL cruise! You will love the Eastern! This will be the fifth time DH and I are doing it. We like the Eastern much more than the Western.

:lmao: The first thing I did after I rolled my $95 in change was wash my hands. :scared:

I worked retail as a key holder while I was in college and some nights, after doing the daily cash out, I could literally see the filth on my hands. So gross.

I work retail now, and I am constantly washing my hands. From dealing with the filthly money to dealing with the stock and shevles. ICK!! Plus with the colder weather my hands are sooo dry. After 24 hours in the warmth..my hands should be back to normal though!!

:welcome: Welcome!!

We're celebrating 20 years--guess you're twice as married as we are! ;)

Oooo, I just had a horrible thought!

Maybe I need to leave my ressie ALONE so they can assign my room?? I was refreshing (anxious? noooo.... :hyper:) but I just logged out for a while.

When we were booking, my agent gave me my ressie # and I went right in (trying to book Palo--it was inside the 90 day mark). When my agent got the fax, she had to call Disney back to make a change, and the Disney person couldn't access my ressie cause I was in it. My TA had to CALL ME and tell me to get out!!:rolleyes1 Busted...

So, um, maybe we just need to back away from the computer for a bit...

Well as a former single mom of 2 DS's I did the same thing. My boys didn't meet anyone I was dating for awhile. It's funny, they met current DH right away, cause he was just a friend, and would do me favors. I would feed him in return. We of course eventually started dating. It was funny one afternoon my eldest DS11, says "you two fight as if you were married". DH looks at me and says he is right, lets get married, I am like..WHAT??? He says yeah, we can we drive to, without a ml? I say Vegas, Maryland I think?? He says ok, lets go. I think he is totally joking. I say sure. We tell my mom (who lived with me at the time) and she looks at us and shakes her head. We get into his car, and hop onto the NJTP. As we pass the exit for Great Adventure, I realize he is serious, and have him pull over into the next reststop and we have a talk. I was not going to elope, I had 2 kids to consider. Needless to say the rest is history, we had a real wedding within a year. It is now 12 years and 2 more children later.

Yes, somehow they shrank all the rooms so there were no split baths, no portholes, no verandahs! But at least all the rooms were still going to all the same places!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Beth, that dream is hilarious!
The things that my brain comes up with can be very strange....:scared:

Welcome aboard! This is our 7th Disney cruise, but our first 7-night. We're celebrating our 35th anniversary a couple of weeks early. The actual date is Dec. 30!

Ours is a week earlier than the cruise. You go when you can go. We wanted to do an Eastern and when those rates came out we jumped.

So by this time in a month, we will be standing around the terminal waiting to board. DD will announce she has to potty and DH will be going around the terminal taking pictures of everything in sight.

This might be a bit off-topic (however, at over 10,000 posts...we're bound to be off topic somewhere!) but how many of you guys are DVC members? Do you like it? Have you found it to be a good deal?

DH and I have a DD who just turned 2 (on Halloween!) and we hope to be expecting another soon...so needless to say, I think we have a lot of Disney vacations ahead of us. In fact, we've talked about making the upcoming trip an annual thing.

DH and I own our own consulting company, so it affords us the luxury of being able to vacation whenever we want (being your own boss *does* have it's advantages) so we often score good deals during off-peak...so if I compare those deals with DVC...is it still worth it?

Sorry so long!

WE ARE!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Our only regret with our DVC purchase is that we did not do it 2 years sooner! :thumbsup2 There is a meeting on the ship on one of the sea days. There will be Guides from DVC and also members that are cruising go to answer questions for people that are interested. We have been members since 2002 and have already gotten back our original purchase price in trips. We have been able to treat our (grown) kids and grandkids to trips that we would never have been able to come up with cash for.

:goodvibes Same with our DD who has two children that are biologically not hers, but are her husbands. They are our GKs just like the rest and love her a bunch. They do live with their mom and whoever the step-dad of the month is and DD and DSIL only get them weekends and for some extended visits when school is out. But, they come to DD when they need something because they know she loves them and will do whatever is needed to take care of them.

You might be, but we'll still be waiting for the bus at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, waiting eagerly to head for the port. I'll be the one announcing that I have to go to the potty! I'm hoping they still show the "get ready for the cruise" video on the bus. By the time I finish watching that, I'm ready to buy the ship, never mind book another cruise! However, last time we cruised, I fell asleep during the video, and almost missed that first look at the ship from the bridge. We had been at Downtown Disney very late the night before. This year we'll be at Epcot the night before we leave, and since we'll still have our granddaughter with us we won't be staying out too late. We also will be meeting her parents for breakfast at Boma, so we'll be up and ready to go!

I can't wait!

Beth
