I'm beginning to think my screen name wasn't the best idea.

I decided to try my hand at personalizing some magnets tonight so they wouldn't "wander away." And it occurs to me that putting "Cruise" right below "Disney Magic" isn't really much of a personalization, is it? :lmao:

As Reba would say..."craaaaap."

Maybe you could add Julie to it to make it a bit more personal without too much info. We put The Morkerts on ours.

You know, that sounds like a really Disney name. Not sure why. But it just does to me. :)

Well it is after 2 and i'm off for bed.. I couldn't get logged into Dis earlier so I couldn't post anything :scared1:

Wish me luck at Kohl's :wizard:

Was just wondering?

1. Do all men do the Tux thing for formal night or is a nice suit work?

2. Do many people dress for Pirate night?

Thanks

ALSO by the way, I've tried to search for my previous posts but it's pulling up nothing. How do you do this?

On formal night I plan on just doing a nice suit. I thought about doing the tux thing, but then decided that would be one more thing to pack. With my suit I can re-use the slacks and jacket and just swap out shirts! :thumbsup2 As far as pirate night, the most I'll dress up is probably khakis and a tropical shirt or something like that. pirate: I DO know that there are a lot of people who dress up in full pirate-wear, so don't think if you want to do it that you'll be the only one!! pirate: :grouphug: pirate:

On a side note, if anyone sees Tina, (Pooh_Girl) on here today, do me a favor and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :bday: She's growing up on me!! (27).

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA!! party: I hope you have a super day. 27 is good! I think I remember... ;)

My dh is just going with a suit, despite my attempts to convince him otherwise. ;) We have got the whole family outfitted for Pirate night, but that's totally our choice, we're just excited! :hyper2: Of course I've never actually been on a cruise, so take my opinion FWIW, but I do read a lot.

I haven't had any luck with the search function here and apparently I'm not alone. Don't know if there's a trick so much as good luck!:confused3

:confused3 So where's my ship??

Are they both still holed up in the Bahamas? I looked on the two webcams I know, and it looks pretty empty... :sad1:

So in a case where people miss their return connections would they say "sorry, Act of God" or help people out? This would be a good reason not to book the return too close--if it were me, I'd want to be able to enjoy the extra "free" day on the ship, but I know if you're thinking about how you're going to get home, it's got to be stressful. Worse would be missing hte first day or so of your vacation!! :scared1:

Actually, Tina and I have talked about this and we disagree. Is it REALLY that bad if we can't come home and have to stay down there?? :confused3 :lmao:

I'm with you, and I've got an extra four days booked before my flight returns just in case they offer to keep us. ;) But wouldn't it totally suck if you missed your first day?

Oh I agree absolutely!!! Mess with my return all you want. "Sorry boss, I can't come home for another week." But if you mess when my vacation STARTS, someone's in trouble!! :furious:

I could use a little extra time on the cruise ;) I have a couple days planned at the park but you know saves me money and I can come back another time to the park. Extra cruise days sound good to me :):thumbsup2

I do pin trading I didnt do much on the last cruise but I plan to have my pins with me since I am going to the park after ;)

Hi Mary!

Some wear tuxes, many wear suits and some wear dress shirts with a tie.

Several from this group are dressing for Pirate night. pirate:

Sorry that I can't tell you how to use the search feature, I've not had much luck with that either.

This is where trip insurance would be a blessing! With trip insurance any lodging or cost for flight changes would be paid for by the insurance. Without it you would be on your own to pay for those costs.

Just wondering - if you look anything like your picture PLEASE don't cover that face. We need something nice to look at right girls. LOL

Aww, c'mon, it looks just like my dh with a mustache! ;)

...So now I'm thinking, is there a character meal off-park that would be good for dd the night before we cruise? Didn't like Chef Mickey's, too crazy...isn't there one at the Grand Floridian?

I did that last October when we got bumped from our flight home. It was only one day, and my boss was OK with it. We were great with it, because it meant we could fly home first class, and the credit they gave us flew us home first class in March, too!

OK, I'm back from a reasonably exciting morning. The soccer field was very cold and very windy, and it looks like it's going to storm here any second! We went out for a nice breakfast after the game, and decided to take a quick side trip to see the ocean before we came home. We ended up behind an extremely erratic driver, so while my son was on his police radio calling it in to dispatch, my DIL was on her phone calling the local police. It just happened that there was a police car at the next intersection, where the driver attempted to turn the corner and ended up going the wrong way down Ocean Boulevard, which is a four-lane divided highway, causing a head-on collision. Since both DS and DDIL are EMT's, they stopped to assist both drivers. The person who caused the accident was having some kind of diabetic crisis and was completely unaware of what happened--that she had been driving erratically for at least a mile, that she had gone the wrong way on the road, or that she had been in a collision. She and the other driver appeared to be uninjured, and the two puppies in the van that was hit were shaken up but fine.

Now I'm home, I've had enough excitement for one day, so I'm going to settle in and do fun stuff like housework. I'll be back later!

Beth

Oh phew Beth, that sounds awful. Glad your ds and ddil were able to help!

The weather is getting progressively more miserable here, as expected. But we're warm and cosy and well-stocked...

DH will be going the suit route. And I'll apparently be in overalls unless I have better luck shopping for formal wear soon.

We won't be dressing for Pirate night. DH doesn't really get into that kinda thing and though I think it'd be fun, at least it's less stuff to pack :) But I know a lot of people will be dressing for it.
