08 DEC 2007 - 7 Day Eastern Magic Part 3

:guilty: Confession time .... I have infected someone else with my DISDisease

Our HR Director also attends the church we do. Her family is doing a 7 day land & sea next May. I told her about the DISBoards on Friday. Her DH told me on Sunday that she has spent at least 3 hours a day on the DIS since. :lmao:

Brack - you bad boy, you! :rotfl: Did you tell him the more the merrier! He'll be hooked next :thumbsup2

There has been all kinds of stir about it over on the main boards. I plan to ask our servers to be sure (they could change back based on customer feedback) before I get up and dressed early to attend.

:confused3 I can imagine the stir  Why bother to get up for something that is just a glorified show? :sad2:

A meet & greet is fun. It doesn't take that long to do the table to table thing plus it sells a LOT of photos in Shutters. :confused3

I'm home today  but I still need to do some work ..... later.

No docs today of course being a holiday, though not for UPS/DHL/Fedex.

Was doing some searching on the net about TAR. Apparently this year there are no NEL rounds, but may have one TBC round. One site also has most of the stops this year on TAR.

Julie, sorry you're "medically interesting".

:lmao: I never thought of it that way! That's kinda cool! :thumbsup2

Maybe I'm a little different (I have been told that more than once) but long hair on women is not an issue. :hippie: My DW cut her very long hair over 25 years ago and it has been short ever since. I like it.

My brother-in-law always preferred my sister to have short hair as well. DH has a fear that if I get it cut, it'll never grown back.

:scared1: This photo was from the last cruise .... when did they stop visiting the tables? :sad1:

I think they changed the name of it too.. to something like "Mickey's Island Jam" maybe? :confused3 Something to imply that the set-up had changed. But yeah, being kidless, there's not much reason to go if they're still doing it that way. From what I read, adults can't even get pictures of the characters, much less with them because once the kids are up in the aisles dancing with them, things move so fast and so many people are trying to get pictures, it becomes a mob scene. Other people have reported that if there are less people at the breakfast in general, sometimes the characters will make brief stops.

I agree, I was disappointed when I read of the change, we have done a lot of the character meals on land, and I was expecting the same thing...glad I heard about the change in advance. For my kids, I can talk them into getting up (and b/c they are young I usually "have" to join in the fun too!), and they did enjoy dancing around with Stitch at Ohana and the Playhouse Disney characters at MGM. But still, it woudl be nice if they did it the old way I think, so everyone gets involved--shy kids, "too cool" kids and old-enough-to-vote kids. Even at 7 I know my ds will take some convincing.

NO just my little family. I noticed there's another Mary on the DIS list with little ones too.

Ok, that must be what I was thinking!

I'm home today  but I still need to do some work ..... later.

Hope you feel better soon! And don't have to work too hard!

I am living in fear that anything we pick up now will hang on til the cruise. We are now on a regular vitamin regimen...

The dining rotation Emi posted is the same as in the Passporter if you have that, though as Angie said, I did a little informal poll myself and got lots of "aberrations" from the predicted rotation. Still, I'm working iwth it in the absence of any indications otherwise!

From p 129, All adults LAPLAPL
Young kids APLAPLA
Older kids/families PLAPLAP

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your help! I just checked my "souveniers" from our cruise 3 years ago and it was the same as outlined in Passporter for us. So, I'll work with the PLAPLAP prediction since I don't have anything else to go on.

I posted last night or this morning that we were going to the Very Merry Party, now I'm not so sure. I was getting ready to purchase our advance passholder tickets, but then DH and I started adding up the cost to "run up to Disney" for less than 24 hours just to see special Very Merry stuff. With gas, hotel, tickets, etc. it will cost a few hundred dollars.

Since we just booked this cruise a few weeks ago and need to pay it off, PLUS oldest DS is raising funds for a mission trip to Romania in April, it is making us re-evaluate the Very Merry. :sad1: We could put the cost of the Party tickets toward his mission trip.

Not to mention that I'm hoping to get DH to let us book a 3-night anniversary cruise for February 08 while we're on board (if there's availability). Oh, and I'd love to try to reserve a spot on a 2009 Repo cruise, if they offer one in '09. Sigh...So many dreams...so little money

 Now, I think we'll just try to go the first weekend in December and enjoy all the decorations at MK and MGM, without doing the party. It's probably the wisest thing...too bad wise and fun don't always go together :rolleyes1

..too bad wise and fun don't always go together :rolleyes1

I understand COMPLETELY!! Tina and I wanted to do the MVMCP but since we only have 2 days to see everything we want at Disney this trip, we decided to do MK on Saturday since they're open until 1 am and leave Sunday night for a couple other parks.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: party: :jumping1:

I figured since the PO is closed today I would have to wait another day for my package from the DISNEY store. BUT no UPS is running and we just got presents, COSTUMES. Yep I bought the whole crew the Pirate costumes so now another thing I have to hide from DD. And I got the baby's stocking - was disappointed it was not like the ones a few years ago when we got the other DD's - no more pretty velvet ones.

BUT we're still getting excited even more now. OK what else can I read to prepare- did this site, the Passporter, DCL site but feel like I will miss lots.

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Gotta go do :laundy:

Sounds like UPS brought you cool stuff :woohoo: My UPS man just dropped off a box of packing envelopes I ordered last week - wanna trade ;)

My only concern with the Secret Mickey one is if everyone who's signed up for one of the lanyards is doing the Secret Mickey. I know some of our more recent additions weren't signing up for Secret Mickey at this late date. Wouldn't want 'em to get something that they felt like didn't apply :)
Good point:thumbsup2

Wendy:

Thank you for coordinating this. When you are done with your military career, you need to work for DCL as a Cruise Director or something. I just remembered you use to work at DL. You seem to have kept that "Disney Magic" .:goodvibes
- Jennifer
Aw thanks Jennifer! And congratulations on the pirate:

I keep talking about Lasik too!

Julie, maybe the Doc will give you a discount to do the surgery on your "interesting eyes." You may end up in some medical journal someday!

I'm finally ready to get Lasik, but for some reason there's a snafu with the AF getting it done in Europe. The Army folks can get theirs done within a matter of months. I may look into getting it done at a military hospital in the states, as the local Doc said she'd do the prep and follow up work here for me.

Hey Wendy..for the lanyards, how about:
Disers cruise The Magic with style! OR Disers sail The Magic with style.

Great suggestions!

As far as the character breakfast goes, I know they'd changed it before we went on the Magic last June. We didn't make it to the breakfast, slept right through it. But heard afterwards that it wasn't as good as it used to be.

Joanne, everyone gets a ticket to the breakfast, as its scheduled as part of your dining rotation.

Almost time to go pick up DD. We are going to make popcorn and sit down and watch Ratatouille together. I was going to save it for the drive down, but I know she will want to watch it again.

I have seen "Happy Feet" so many times now I can quote the entire movie and the songs.

DH wants me to get a set of Castaway Club lanyards he found on eBay. They appear to be used, I told him 'Do you really want someone else's sweat, lotion and funk around your neck?'

He said, 'We can just boil them.'

MEN!!!

Jasmine just saw the pirate score. She put her hand on my shoulder, shook her head, and said, "Mom, Mom, Mom what happened you are in 4th place."

Funny I remember when "we" were in 2nd place. Now that I'm down to 4th, I'm on my own!
