I've got some sad news. My grandfather passed away this morning. They lived near Springfield Missouri for many years after retiring, and I was only able to visit them a couple of times in the past 15 years. Last year they moved closer to family, both of my aunts live in Peru, Illinois. October 6th we celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary, and I was able to take all the kids to see them. Ryan who's 1 and Ben who's 5 met them for the first time. He had a severe case of asbestoses from working with asbestos back in the 70's and 80's. He was in the hospital for about a week, fighting to breath every second. When he was admitted he was at about 48% oxygen levels in his blood.

I knew this day was coming soon, when I saw him last month I could tell that he was tired of fighting, and I gave him a big hug and kiss on the cheek. I was glad that he got to see my children before he passed. My favorite memories are of playing pinochle with him, grandma, and my mom every time we met. Probably the hardest part is that my grandma is in the early stages of alzheimer's , and we're not sure if she's going to wake up tomorrow asking where Don is.

I don't want to drag down the mood here, we'll all have a lot of fun on the cruise, but I thought I'd share with you all. My mom is taking it very well. She's a lifetime nurse, and worked most of my childhood at a nursing home. She knows that Don is better where he is now, and that there's no more pain, and there's no more struggle for him.

Back to work. I got the master bedroom walls and ceiling paint finished today. Two walls in the family room downstairs are done. Help is on the way tomorrow. Mom of one of DGS's friends is coming to help paint. She is a gem! I'm heading downstairs to help DrHug with the tiles now.

Hi, I'm browsing the excursions and noticed there is no dolphin encounter. It is listed in the passporter, but it is not on the disney website. What's up with that?

Stacy have you been recently, when I was at that conference I picked up a mickey and minnie santa outside plush statue for 19.99 each they are SOOOO cute!!!

We don't have enough front yard here in NJ for a Blow Up and I've seen some really cute ones too

I've always thought those big blow up things were cool. But seems like they must make a lot of noise. We try to keep our outdoor decorations to a minimum anyway, so I think this year we'll just wrap some lights around the trunk of our palm tree.

I'm packing for my trip, too. I won't have a lot of time either, after tomorrow morning, but I'll make some time at night! I no longer do the "after hours" parties much. I've gotten to the stage in my life where it's really hard to be on the convention floor at 8:30 AM when I've been out until 4 AM! My DS, DDIL and DGD are coming with me this year, so I'll have lots of companionship. Jim doesn't have enough vacation time to take the week off, so he gets to work all day and stay home at night with our menagerie.

Good night, everyone! I think I'm just about done for the evening.

On our trip to WDW last winter, we ended up having to stop at some drug store on the way to the airport. Bought luggage in a drugstore at 9 am...the biggest one they had, and dh crammed the rest of our stuff into it in the car rental compound. So, um, duct tape might be a little simpler.

Yay for the Goths on TAR. Kynt was such a baby about getting muddy. We have been inspired and I have convinced hubby that being noticed is not that bad. Even though they just got their hair done blond, I have convinced DH and DD to go hot pink with me. That will definitely hide that grey!!!

Now to find a place to do hot pink, this is something I do not want to do on my own!
