I thought that we had promised to keep that a secret?

I'm so bummed. I just read that we won't be getting our castaway cay lanyards and pins. They stopped that this month. This SUCKS!!

Really? Are they going to replace with anything else? I wish they'd put some real info on their website rather than us having to hear stuff on the DIS. I was going to leave our lanyards at home, because I thought we'd get more on the ship.

I wonder if the in-room gift has changed from the beach bag also. It's just nice to know in advance so you know what to pack.

Are you going to get any Cubans at the official store in St. Maarten? DH plans to get about 10 to smoke and to bring back for friends.

You just have to hope that you're not one of those picked to search for such contraband

Me too.. I would love to know in advance.. Do you think maybe someone on the Wonder will post before we board the Magic and fill us in?

I have 2 sets of the Beach Net Bags and stuff.. I'd really like something different.. If not.. Hopefully by our Sept. 08 cruise it will be changed..

I feel that the ships are built to house this many people so its not like we are not going to have somewhere to sit for dinner or a seat in the theater, crowds don't bother me at all so I don't mind, I figure we will hang out at the pool when everyone else is till sleeping and the boys will hang out in the clubs during the day... I am a more the merrier type person.

Exactly The ship will only hold so many people but that does not mean that it is crowded. Now if everyone decides to go to the Mickey pool at the same time it will be crowded there but there are many other places on that BIG ship!

We don't book for the lack of crowds but rather when we want to cruise. Let the crowds join us

Everytime I looked in the Hot Tub.. It was all men.. and since DH wouldn't go in, I wouldn't go alone..

Once their was 2 young couples in it and I didn't want to intrude

DW and I love to go late at night when there are very few people in them.

We have one of those in the Mall but they seem expensive to me

In response to both of you above, my dress for formal night came from Lane Bryant's clearance rack back in June. I went in to look at jewelry and came out with my dress. The price was fabulous.

I sense that we are not only getting very excited now, but all this chatter has helped us feel comfortable with each other all ready.

I already feel like I've known some of you forever!

DH & I really don't drink.. If we have more then 1 drink on this cruise, I'll be surprised.. Although, it is a week long and we have days at sea.. sooo maybe we will splurge a bit.. But, DH is a light weight.. 2 beers and he is holding onto things to walk.. Good thing we'll be on a ship, people will think he doesn't have sealegs yet

We don't drink much either. However, after Jim discovered the Cove Cafe, that all changed--at least for cruises!

A question for anyone not ignoring me, when you booked this cruise were you secretly hoping it would be a less busy time being between Thanksgiving and Christmas? The cruise was cheaper and we for one thought really how many will be able to go at that time of year.

We booked this particular cruise because this week and the one before are the ones that we could get away. My son was able to get the first week of December off, and he and his family wanted to go to WDW with us, so we're doing that first, and then cruising for some grandparents' alone time, and then going back to WDW for some extra grandparents alone time! Then we'll come back home and have to start being responsible adults again.

Did you know that even with all the DC we've been on, we have never ever been in the Pools or Hot tubs

Maybe it will be different this cruise.. Since we won't be with any children.. Maybe we will need to try the Adult area with some of you..

We love the adult pool and hot tub area. It's extremely relaxing just to sit there and enjoy the peace and quiet, away from all the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship!

OK, I'm heading back to do really fun things like finish washing dishes that keep appearing in the sink, and start fixing dinner. DS has to leave for work within the hour and then it will be time for us to eat.

Great @_@ what do we get instead? anything. I wanted them. I guess i will live. lol WOW you people are busy on here i do good to catch the past couple hours of posts i gave up on going back days @_@. I would never catch up lol. I only have 28 days to catch that sneaky pirate. Guess i have to be sneakier than him LOL.

The word on the other thread is that Disney is "thinking about" a change. So, no, apparently anyone who's cruised since Nov 4th hasn't gotten the lanyards and hasn't gotten anything else in place of them.

It seems a bit unfair that people in those in-between times don't get anything at all. If they're thinking about a change, then they should give out the lanyards right up until they implement that change.

It seems a bit unfair that people in those in-between times don't get anything at all. If they're thinking about a change, then they should give out the lanyards right up until they implement that change.

It sure does! We didn't get lanyards on our 2nd cruise for some reason, but of course I didn't know we were supposed to. We did get the gift in the room. We did the Med on the 3rd cruise and like 75% of the guests were Castaway Club members, and we all got our lanyards in the terminal. I felt sorry for the families that were cruising for the first time, because all their kids were asking their parents why they didn't get the lanyards too. Imagine how the kids will feel on the 2nd cruise when they STILL don't get them.

I do think getting the same lanyard over and over again is silly, but it is nice to feel appreciated. And what would be cool is if they put the ship name and year on the lanyards. Then you'd want to collect them. I can see folks saying, "well I HAVE to cruise in 2009 or my lanyard collection won't be complete!"

We are going do the PC on RCCL because we think we will be able to get an educational waiver for that than for Hawaii.
