Question for all of you Jersey people..... My uncle is taking his wife to a bon jovi concert at the prudential center and I was wondering if anyone can recommend where to stay. They will be driving in from I 95.
Thanks

The Gateway Hilton is about a half block away from Prudential Center, but it's kind of pricey. Another choice would be any of the hotels located at/near Newark Airport. I've stayed at the Country Inn and Suites at the Jersey Gardens Mall, and at the Airport Marriott directly on the airport property. Tell them to be careful if they do a search on something like Hotels.com. The hotel that Hotels.com recommended is about 30 minutes SOUTH of where I live, and I live about an hour south of the airport! There are lots of places to stay in the area, though, so it should be fairly easy to find something. I live close enough that I don't pay attention to such things. If they don't mind driving about 45 minutes, I can recommend the Ocean Place Resort and Spa here in Long Branch. We're only a few minutes off the Garden State Parkway, which connects with the NJ Turnpike, which is I-95. Of course, you didn't say where they are coming from, that can make a difference!

DrHug loves to use DCL transport.

AND I like that they bring me my drink! ;)

I too like the DCL transport but wish they arrived earlier. We drove last year but will take the DCL transport this time. Save us some lunch :thumbsup2

Maybe Annette will get me a drink. :confused3

:snooty: I was looking for a better smilie but this was the best the DSIBoard has for my feelings. Maybe SmilieCentral has something better. :guilty:

Back to my CARS search. I am still looking for MIA and TIA and Mrs. and The King. I also need Dale Jr., Mario, Bob Cutlass and Darrell Cartrip.

Some people are finding them even in the towns we visit, but we are not. :guilty:

Quick question about ME, if we are flying airtran on the morning of embarkment we would only handle our luggage at our home airport and the next time we see it will be in our room, correct.
On departure we will leave our luggage out that night and will not see it again until we get to our home airport, correct.

Now I think I'm all caught up on the posts again!

Jim and I have Palo reservations for dinner, and we have a brunch reservation that will be canceled if we get the private room. I would like to try High Tea, but I'm not going to get upset if we don't get it. I'll call and put my name on the waiting list once we board. It isn't worth rushing around on my vacation!

We spent the day doing all kinds of outside work, getting the yard and all of our yard furnishings ready for winter. We had a bit of sadness, one of our cats passed away yesterday afternoon. She had been sick for a while, and seemed to be recovering, but just stopped eating completely about two days ago. We had a small funeral service this afternoon and made a lovely memorial for her in a quiet corner of our yard. Our other animals seem to be aware that she's missing. They spent a lot of time today just wondering around and looking in all the places where she liked to sleep and play.

Now it's time for me to head off to finish reading some of my other threads, finish washing dinner dishes, finish sorting laundry, finish getting ready for work tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone!

Beth

If I find extras I will grab some for you too. I have gotten several of them for fellow DIS'ers and mailed them off.

They will be driving from Texas, my uncle doesn't fly:confused3

I have met several people who do not fly. While I still am uncomfortable flying (fear of heights not anything else) I am not willing to drive as much as I used to when I was younger:confused3

I think their posted time to open is 1pm. BUT, we have gotten on board as early as noon and they are open when we board. I would go there as soon as you board and stand in line if they are not yet open. DD Sweetpea's Palo disappeared off her ressie (her excursions did too, but I rebooked those) and because she did not print off her confirmation at the time she scheduled at 90 days DCL will not put them back on for her.

Wow, Ithought I would have until 1. On the Wonder they made us wait until 1. I wasn't going for Palo, just early dining. Now I want at least Brunch, but we shall see. We were able to get into Palo for just dessert in August, the head of our wait staff made the arrangements..it was so nice of them. I had to try the souffle :). Yummm :)

I think that is the way it works but  if I flew in on the day of boarding I would be a basket case for fear of missing the ship. No way for me! :sad2:

That is so sweet. I do midnight runs to several Wal-marts and hit TRU first thing in the morning but so far no luck in my latest quest. It is frustrating because I find out that some that I was at put them out later.

I also am going to go broke because I saw the list of planned releases for next year. I guess it is all about patience really. I remember last year I would find several Buzz and Woody and Mike and Sully for people and now that is all I find on the shelf. :confused3

Ever since I was a young boy
I've played the silver ball
From Soho down to Brighton
I must have played them all
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In any amusement hall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

He stands like a statue
Becomes part of the machine
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean
He plays by intuition
The digit counters fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

He's a pinball wizard
There's got to be a twist
A pinball wizard
He's got such a supple wrist
