The water will be just fine where the ship is going.

One of the things you have to be careful about is thinking that it is winter and sunburn doesn't happen ...... NOT! Take sunscreen! I take SPF50 only because they don't make it any higher. :confused3

Psstt.. hawaiin tropic O zone sport.. has a 63 :thumbsup2 Although it comes with a tube of 45.. They also have a 60 and a 70 I think..

Thank you for being concerned but I have been reading older posts and contacting individuals with any questions I had. I haven't posted any lately for the fear of being ridiculed for not having tickets yet. I did find some interesting posts while reading the history and was wondering how many times you have quit this discusion so far? I don't think I will be able to get the time off for this cruise but I do appreciate everyone's willingness to answer my sometimes dumb questions.

Welcome Back..

Even if you aren't on our cruise this year, is no reason to stay away.. Ask all the questions you want.. We like questions.. It gets us closer to getting a pirate:

:thumbsup2

Has anyone ever used Shirley for holiday gifts on the cruise? I was thinking of having her deliver the kids their items in a stocking - anyone used her at Christmas time before?

I've never used her but I hear the Bsaskets are awesome

Thank you for getting me caught up on everything! I found the Santa list! Now the next question is (I am sorry I am being blonde :) ) Exactly how is this working? I am still excited about it but want to make sure I undersand the "rules" for the exchange. I know we are hanging Stockings on the doors.

Thanks in advance

The Secret Mickey exchange is just a simple stress free fun way to get excited for the Holidays among the Dis'ers..

We will be sneaking around the ship and hope not to get caught, stuffing a stocking.. ;) I have enough items for everyone and then some :confused3

It can be anything.. Pencils, stickers, mini toys, anything at all..

There aren't any really set rules. It's mostly just any little trinkets you want to get to slip into the stockings. People have said in the past the gifts have been things like stickers, small toys, beads for pirate night, anything like that. Don't go overboard (no pun intended) and spend loads... it's just meant to be fun :)

- we have reservations for CP at Epcot on the 7th - the cruise is on the 8th :) as we all know.

We have to fly to Orlando - here are our options:

Fly out the morning of the 6th - Stay at one of the ecomomy disney hotels and then spend the evening resort hopping looking at the decorations or enjoying the hotel, spend the 7th at Epcot and enjoy the CP that night, and then either

1. have checked out of the hotel and have disney transportation take us back to the airport and check into the Hyatt so we can be on the first bus out of the airport to the terminal in morning OR
2. Stay 2 nights at the disney hotel and just get on the bus to the cruise from the hotel.

Our other option is to skip epcot and CP and just fly into MCO on the 7th, spend the night and just enjoy the cruise and not worry about going to the world - and do DW in May when we go for the Repo cruise?

Thanks for any input.

I don't really have any input on the CP at Epcot as I've never done it, but if we did something like that, I'd just stay at the same hotel and then take Disney transportation to the cruise from the Disney hotel. I don't feel like it'd be worth the hassle of changing hotels just to be at the MCO Hyatt the night before the cruise. That also means you won't have had to worry about getting your bags packed and stored, along with organized for what you'd need at the Hyatt, the first day of the cruise, the last day in the parks, etc. I'd be more likely to just stay there, then organize that night right before catching the bus the next morning.

Maybe someone with experience using DCL transportation from the resort to the port could give you more information :)

We're in the same boat (:lmao: ) re Palo, also hoping for 30 days out but failing that, Rockin Bar D or whatever it is as soon as we board. We have nothing, and are hoping to get the full range of Palo options! (Dinner brunch and tea, though tea doesn't get the raves of other meals--opinions?)

Good info to know not to wait til noon, if we get on sooner, thanks Julie.

DH & I have a Palo Ressie for the two of us for dinner.. I am hoping to get on board and make a High Tea reservation..

:coffee:

Stacy! I was at the mall yesterday and applied at BAB!

I was in looking at the new holiday bear and the guy working asked if I needed help and I said no, I was just looking because someone I knew that worked in one of the stores had mentioned the holiday bear. And he got to talking about working there, I said it sounded fun and he goes "would you like an application? We're going to be hiring next week for Christmas." :rotfl: So, I said sure.

I also filled out one at the Hallmark store there as I worked at Hallmark during college. And the discount on the Disney ornaments is always nice. :rolleyes1 I have enough of those things that I only ever use Disney Hallmark ornaments on the tree and I still have leftovers that don't fit. :headache: But now they're all back east in rubbermaid tubs in my Mom's attic. They didn't make the cut of essentials for the cross-country move :sad2:

Yeaaaa !!! :thumbsup2

I just bought the winter bear today after work and the snowflake fairy costume which is really cute on the bear.. :cutie:

I'm trying to hold out on the rest of my "Want List" cause our Double Discount Days are November 19 & 20 for our Employees.. :yay:

Double discount can't be a bad thing. :thumbsup2

There was a part on the application that specifically asked if there were any plans, appointments, or vacations planned that might interfere with the work schedule, so I went ahead and listed the cruise and the trip to my grandmother's for Christmas. If I don't get a call back, I'll know why. :rotfl:

Curious is this group brunch or individual? Since I just booked the other day, everything online was gone, so I am going to have to go to Rockn D and hope I can get something. Does anyone know what time they open to take dining changes and ressies?? TX

I think their posted time to open is 1pm. BUT, we have gotten on board as early as noon and they are open when we board. I would go there as soon as you board and stand in line if they are not yet open. DD Sweetpea's Palo disappeared off her ressie (her excursions did too, but I rebooked those) and because she did not print off her confirmation at the time she scheduled at 90 days DCL will not put them back on for her.

We did Tea a few years ago. We enjoyed it, but have not booked it again. :confused3

Just some little something to stick in everyone's stocking. Some are bringing something to represent their state, others tropical, pirate or Disney stuff. Little surprises or treats. Some of us are also bringing postcards from our state. :thumbsup2

2. Stay 2 nights at the disney hotel and just get on the bus to the cruise from the hotel.

Thanks for any input.

This is what we are doing. I have the plane tickets and rooms booked. If you decide to do this option then don't wait to long or the good rates may be gone.

I did find some interesting posts while reading the history and was wondering how many times you have quit this discusion so far?

I took a little break due to the cliquish nature of this thread which is still quite prevalent. You might want to also ask Jennifer how many times she quit this discussion since you seem so concerned with my activities on this thread. You might also ask yourself why you had this desire to attack me by calling out something you found odd I posted. Yet since you have read older posts, not once have you called out anyone about their activities planned for the Rasul or their desire to bring home a Disney "surprise".

I don't think I will be able to get the time off for this cruise but I do appreciate everyone's willingness to answer my sometimes dumb questions.

AGAIN, it is so interesting that you decided to join in the discussion on THIS particular sailing thread. Of all the threads in this forum, you managed to join in this one and then was gone for days after being so active. Too bad you will not be able to go.

Ok need some input from those who have gone before and spent time at Disney before hand (first cruise we did not time at Disney)

Hubby gets in on December 3rd at night from Iraq (and thank you for everyone's kind words - but just a side note - he is in Iraq, on base, he does computer work, but he is not military - he is with a contractor (eats with and flies with and conducts life with the military but not in as much danger, if there is such a thing over there) - still in my opinion a wonderful man for going and doing what he is doing - but did not want anyone thinking he was in the military - he is still scraficing things and we are without him for months at a time so this cruise is very important to us as a family.

Krisann, we do appreciate whatever role your hubby is playing in the war effort.

We live so far that we always do WDW before the cruise. We love CP, so I would say go for the day if you can. If you fly down and use Magical Express to get to WDW then you could use Magical Express to get back to MCO to catch that early bus to the port.

Has anyone ever used Shirley for holiday gifts on the cruise? I was thinking of having her deliver the kids their items in a stocking - anyone used her at Christmas time before?

We used her, but got a sand bucket/toys for DGS. She does a very nice job and I'm sure she would make Christmas special.

DrHug loves to use DCL transport. However, :rolleyes1 it gets me there entirely too late! Last time we used it they had stopped serving lunch in Parrot Cay and we had to go to Topsiders. Ok, with DrHug, but I much, much prefer the atmosphere at Parrot Cay. AND I like that they bring me my drink! ;)

We also have CP reservations that night--we're eating at Marrakesh at 5:45 PM and then going to the last show. Marrakesh is one of our favorite WDW restaurants!

My personal choice would be to stay at WDW and then take Disney transportation to the port. Of course, I find every excuse I can to stay at WDW!

Beth

We have never used her services but I know several who have and say good things. :goodvibes
