Wow, busy day. Fldisfantastic and Joiseymom (did I get that right?) and was there someone else?

Jennifer, there's another launch scheduled for Dec. 6 at 4:30 pm. If it doesn't get bumped. We're arriving in MCO 10 am so I can get there...but if they reschedule a little we'd still be able to see it, on the 7th or the 8th. Much as I don't want to get stressed out by a delay and wondering if it's going to launch, I think it would be a heck of a start to the cruise to watch it from the deck...Hope you guys have a great trip!

This happened on our Dec cruise last year. It was scheduled to go on Wed, conditions weren't right so it was delayed and it went up Saturday around 8 pm. The Captain kept us sitting off shore so we could see it. It was AMAZING!!! Brack has some awesome phoots! We were at dinner (second seating) and everyone just ran out onto deck 4 to watch. It was very, very loud also. One of the great experiences of my life! :thumbsup2

Krisann,

I LOVE your signature about this cruise!! That is so amazing that your DH is coming home right before the cruise!! How far before the cruise does he get to come home?? I didn't know if you were going to get to spend any time with him before or not. Please let him know when you talk to him how much we appreciate him!!! :sad1: The job that he and everyone does over there is SO amazing!! Whether I agree or disagree with the idea of us being over there, the one thing that I will NEVER argue, is how special our military is and how hard they work for us!!! He is an amazing person! :yay:

YES!! Thank him for us also!

I finally made it home through torrential storms and a few floods (really!) to find out that there was some problem with my network router. I'm sure it must be me--that's two so far today! At least this one didn't burn up and just needed to be reset, which meant that I had to take the entire computer out of the cabinet, find a flashlight so I could find the reset switch and then put everything back together. Now I'm wondering if that might have been my problem last night with my notebook upstairs in my office! And here I was blaming the trains for the whole thing.

I'm going to watch my DCL DVD tonight. I haven't even opened the package yet, because I know that once I sit down with it I won't want to turn it off. This weekend we're finishing the final details for the trip, including transportation. Right now, there seem to be some good flights available for the trip home, so we may fly home instead of taking the train. That would mean that I could stay an extra day at WDW after the cruise. I have my reservations all made, but I was thinking I might have to cancel that last night. I'll have it all worked out by Sunday!

We haven't gotten in to pin trading. I have a few that I've collected, but I'm saving them. I think that Shannan may want to try it while we're at WDW. She has her pins that we got way back in 2003, and I was surprised that she remembered. She asked me yesterday if I can get her some pins from the cruise. She pointed out that they would make good Christmas presents, along with the diamond earrings that she thinks I should get her! I guess she thinks Grandma is made of money. She knows that her big present is her trip to WDW. Her parents don't know that we're planning on paying their share of the campground fee as our gift to them, so it looks like maybe the seven year old Hannah Montana wanna be isn't going to get real diamond earrings this year. Maybe I can find her some really cute Disney earrings, though. She just got her ears pierced this month, and this weekend will be the first time that she can change her earrings.

Well, time to go and figure out what to do about dinner. There are no more leftovers, so I guess I'll have to think of something!

I'll be back in a while.

Beth

I'm in Ocean County.. down at the shore... about 10 minutes West from Seaside Heights.. Over the Bridge and next door to Toms River..

We are Dis Addicts for sure.. :surfweb:

I am the Dis addict in the family. Dh goes along for the ride with me and the kids. My kids are gonna freak when they find out that the solo trip is a DCL one. We all went on our first one in August and we had a blast, the kids loved it.

I remember Brack's photos. Gave me chills. I am such a space nut. If it's delayed I'll be beside myself wondering if I'll get to see it, but it would be worth it to see it from the ship...

My goodness! It is POURING down rain out there!! Oh wait...this is Oregon, it is October, of course it is raining! :lmao: :rotfl: Doesn't usually rain this hard though.

I hate driving in rain worse than snow. Glad you made it home ok.

Two routers in one day--yep, it must be you. :rotfl:

We just watched the DVD. Too bad they don't have beautiful food pics like that thread! Dh and I are daydreaming about the upgrade possibilities...

Turning in early. A friend may be dropping off her 4 month-old for a few hours in the morning...oooo, baby snuggles. :cloud9: Have a good evening, all.

Jennifer -

You asked about Direct Buy. I think it is a total scam. So does Clark Howard.

You can read ratings about them
http:// tiny url .com/38bl83 without spaces

From what I understand they act like "this will be the ONLY time you will EVER" get this offer. High pressure sales and no results.

Save your money.

I probably shouldn't have spent so much time looking at those pictures. My frozen ravioli didn't look quite so appetizing, although I have to admit that the sweet potato pie with French vanilla was almost as good as some of the desserts in those pix!

I don't drive back and forth to work (or anywhere else, for that matter). I usually walk the block to the train station, get off at the next stop and then walk a mile to my office. It's my "down time" at the beginning and end of each day, and I enjoy it. Today, however, my boss wouldn't let me walk, and it's a good thing, because all of the roads were flooded. It's raining here again, although it's not the torrential downpours we had all day. We really need the rain, though, so I don't mind.

Well, I think this is my last post for the night. I have to be up and about early tomorrow, and I'd love to get a good night's sleep!

Ok I have been away from the board for awhile - just because life is life - now we are getting closer and here I am :)

Just found out today hubby will not fly into the states from Iraq until Dec. 3 which is 2 weeks later than we planned so the cruise will even be more special - he will go back right after Christmas for at least the end of January and then he will hopefully be DONE over there!

Ok I have some questions before I start digging back in the messages:

I saw references to getting credit back from Disney - what is this about? Is it only for the FL residents? I could book a category higher right now than what we have now for less than $200 but our category (10) shows no availabilty - any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me if I am on the gift/stocking exchange list? I think I signed up for somthing but my brain isn't telling me what exactly and I need to set it aside!

On another note I did order our lime green shirts and I will be personalizing them with and iron on or embordiry machine but we do have them! Are we supposed to wear them the day we board or a different day or just whenever?

Thanks for catching me up!

Lots of folks moved to CAT 12GTY and got some nice refunds. Depending on when you booked folks got from $500 to over $700 moving from an 11 to a 12GTY. If you moved to a 12 gty you would be guaranteed at least an 11 because the 12s sleep only 3

 I'm sure you're thrilled he gets to come home for the holidays. What a special present for your family. :grouphug:

I see you, your DH, and two children on the list. So I'm guessing you signed up. :thumbsup2

I think the plan was to wear the shirts on embarkation day for the meeting up on Deck 10 at 3pm. It'll be an easy way to identify each other since we mostly have no idea what anyone looks like. :rotfl:

I tried to order the Lime Green shirt but it said the ONLY size is 3x :guilty:

I bought a Plain Lime Green Shirt from AC Moore so I will decorate it with some type of Disney design :confused3

Yeah, I've kept checking back, but they've only had the White and Yellow since I booked, so no lime green Disney shirt for me either. I'll just pick up a plain one somewhere and make due :)

I did buy Iron On Transfer Paper so I will try to print a Logo out and add it to my shirt..

:thumbsup2

Have fun going for a pirate: and the princess: I am either working or going to breakfast... Won't know til 9am if I have to work 10 - 3

Then off for a Surprise 30th Birthday party for a friend..

Have a great day!!!

 I know I said I wouldn't be online until next week. But, DS2 is awake for some strange reason. He is wide awake.:yay: Out of the three, he is the only one who wakes up every morning with a smile. :) Right now, he is in the living room watching PBS Sprout and eating chicken. I am suppose to get up in an hour. At this point, I might as well just stay up. It would be worse if I tried to only sleep for one hour. For some reason, that would make me more tired. I can take a cat nap in the car. :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 Thank you for all the information on Direct Buy.

They wouldn't give me any information over the phone regarding their membership. They only wanted to get us there. They advertise like crazy on the tv and radio here. We belong to Costco. So, I thought it was like that but with home furnishings, fixtures and appliances. They said we couldn't bring the kids to the tour. :confused3 Also, I HAD to bring just my spouse. That seems like a lot of $$$$ for the membership. However, you did purchase a lot of items. So, I assume in the end you saved money? I hope you get everything you ordered. We are planning to re-do a lot of things in this house over time. We plan to "almost" gut the kitchen (re-finish the cabinets, cabinet hardware, granite countertops, sink, cooktop, dishwasher, tile backsplash and then at a later date replace the built-in microwave and oven. But, we plan to pay cash for everything. So, Direct Buy doesn't sound like an option for us. Also, with all those "rave" reviews it doesn't make me want to run out and join either. ;) We like the challenge of finding the best price. Bill did great getting the new tv and surround sound.

THANK YOU AGAIN! :goodvibes

 Reason #173 we don't yet have kids. ;)

I feel your pain though. I've had a lot of trouble sleeping lately. It's been better the last few nights, but before that, I hadn't gotten a good night's sleep in about 3 weeks. It can really wear on a person.

I hope you guys have a great trip! :grouphug: Do the kids still not know (other than Cole?)

Regarding the lime green t-shirts. . .

:scared1: That really amazes me that the Disney Shopping site is sold out of the lime green t-shirts. Because if I had my "choice" of colors to wear, it certainly would NOT be lime green. So, I have to assume all the DISers have snatched them up. Others on here have gone to their local craft store (like Michaels) to purchase a "plain" lime green t-shirts and then they will decorate them. Beth has created a cruise logo if you needed one for your t-shirt. It is on Wendy's blog. You can print the logo onto iron-on transfer paper. Then, iron it onto the plain lime green t-shirt. Voila! :thumbsup2
