We have cruised DCL several times during the first 2 weeks of Dec. We love the decorations and time away from the Northwest rain.

By posting post number 100, 200, 300.....1000, 2000, 3000 etc. Just a silly game that adds some extra fun.

This comment shocks me a little and its inappropriateness seems a little out of character for this group from what I have read.

Hmmm welcome to the group? Are you coming along with this cruise. Considering what I have read about the Rasul room in this thread, people hoping to bring "a surprise" home from this cruise, and people looking for a private time while their kids are in the clubs, I happen to wholeheartedly disagree.

This cruise does intrigue me. I confess that I hadn't read back but a couple of pages but that comment stood out me for not only its content but also the fact that somebody would feel that they had to say that about themself and their spouse. Oh well, to each their own. I look forward to learning more about this group as I consider this cruise.

WOW! You people have been really busy since I left my office! Now, five hours later, I am still "pirateless", but all caught up on the thread.

Let's see-- The first two weeks of December are our favorite time to cruise. Our first cruise was the last weekend in May, but it was too hot for Jim. Now, after six DCL cruises (all the rest in late Nov/early Dec) we're finally taking our first seven night cruise.

You know, it's funny--it never occurred to me to think about how I would get my refund! I guess I'm so used to giving money to DCL that the idea of them giving me money is unthinkable! Once Jim understood how the Cat 12 gty works, he has decided that we should book all of our cruises that way, since we really like Deck 2, and if we get an upgrade, then it's just a little bit of extra magic for us. And, of course, it would mean that we could afford to take a few more cruises!

We're using a Christmas stocking instead of a fish extender. I'll be knitting ours this weekend if I get a few spare minutes. It seems that my list of knitting projects keeps growing, and a few of the projects are coming up on the deadline to get them done since they're gifts. In fact, when I finish here I'm going upstairs to work on the baby sweater I have to finish by Monday.

Brack--thanks for the posting a few pictures! It's always fun to see someone else's point of view, and your pictures are always great.

Good night, all, it's knitting time, and I can't DIS and knit at the same time. I've tried, but I end up undoing too much work!

Well I wonder the motivation of someone who is not even on a cruise to post on a roll call they are not yet booked. It would seem questions would be best suited for the cruise board. It strikes me as really strange that someone's first post would be on a roll call for a cruise they are not booked.

Anyway nice to meet you. DH and I are both 26 and our daughter is 4.5. DH is a pilot on reserve and I am a SAHM. We live in NW GA. Who is in your family and who will be going on this cruise that you have not yet booked???

Anyone who is interested in cruising is welcome to post here. I checked this thread and several others before I booked my cruise to see what kinds of people would be on each cruise. The people were one of the factors that helped me decide to book this particular cruise.

Well we all have to be cautious about our children. No one is attacking you, it just seems coincidental that one would pick one roll call in particular to start posting. If anything you started attacking me by telling me how inappropriate something I posted was without even reading through the entire thread.

You should find plenty of information about cruising between thanksgiving and christmas on the main cruise board. If you are not actually on this cruise and are just posting to stir up trouble, I feel very sorry. But I am sure that is not the case.

I can't remember if you said this is your first Disney Cruise, so you might already know, but there are metal fish on the wall next to each stateroom that can have a little note or envelope stuck in. I think DCL originally did it to leave invitations, etc. for guests.

Some people (especially on the DIS) have taken to making little extender things that have some pockets for holding mail or little treats. If you go to the main cruise forum and search the first page or two, you'll find a huge thread about the fish extenders with quite a few cute pictures of them

For this cruise, a bunch of us are using stockings instead of the pocket things and doing a Secret Mickey Exchange. Be sure to let pfishgirl and JsMom2 know if you'd like to sign up to participate!

This is our first cruise ever so this cleared things up alot. I dont know what i was imagining, but this makes alot more sense!

I need to start working on my door sign, what software is easy to use for this? I like the idea of the mickey paint sample cards

Yeah, that's a fish extender!

I'm completely untalented when it comes to things like designs, so I went over to the Creative Disigns board (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105) and browsed some of the threads there. There are some really talented people over there that have created their own designs and are happy to personalize them for people. Then it's just a matter of saving it to your own hard drive and printing it out. Excellent for us technically challenged people.
